Meh

Bad acting. Lame dialogue.

Ruby is naive, unconfident, clumsy, a little whiny, and not impressively bright. And I'm a Sidney Bristow fan. But Bristow overplays all these traits and the result is not pretty. She suddenly sheds most of these flaws at least in degree.

Woody is .... earthy. Franco Lo Presti interacts a lot with Bristow, but there's not really any chemistry.

The story drags until the climax. And then the climax gets chaotic. It brings some spark to the movie.

Overall I wouldn't watch this again.

Lovely fit

Great chemistry, good acting with few exceptions, lovely actors, very nice movie all in all. The dialogue was a bit too simplistic, the ending too abrupt. They should really focus more on originality, credibility, realism, quality, rehearsing, rather than fast filming, producing movie after movie with similar stories, pros and cons.

A rom-com that works.

I wasn't familiar with the leads Brittany Bristow and Franco Lo Presti, but they do a good job and have chemistry. The plot is hokey but it's not a terrible script, it's watchable.

Not Lake Tahoe

Well to start with , the movie supposed to be in Lake Tahoe and definitely was very obvious to me that is not where they are. If you are going to emphasize the activities guy was going to show the beauty of enjoying the outdoors in Tahoe it should actually be in Tahoe. The guy who played him was a little awkward to me and especially with his interactions with Ruby.

Wow, the male lead is like a high school actor

It's painful to watch him. He has no charisma, but he also had really weak material to work with. And these plots are always full of the weak-willed female lead and the man who had to come and save her. Sigh.

Warning: Spoilers
This movie has disturbed me greatly. I thought that the lead male character bullied the female lead. He did not respect her wish to spend her time writing in an attempt to win the prize and launch her career and he did not respect the fact that she was afraid of heights in insisting that she come into the woods with him. Although I appreciate the metaphor of overcoming fear, the portrayal of a dismayed woman clinging to the side of a mountain while her support saunters away is not funny, relating the tale of his recent break-up as she tries to work is annoying.

It is formulaic that people abandon their commitment to their separate paths and fall in love in movies like this, but falling in love should not mean that one gives up one's intelligence, seriousness of purpose and individuality. Indulging in two hours of escapism in watching a film like this should not mean that we must suspend our self-respect and belief in self-determination.

As a artefact of popular media the lead female character serves as an extremely poor role model for young women watching this film. I began watching this movie because like the lead female I dream of being a writer and securing a book deal, but unfortunately, I have spent too much of this film being very disappointed by the trite characterisation. Getting a clue in the last five minutes of the film does not make up for the weakness of the previous hour and 55 minutes.

In closing I must give a word of praise for the scenery. There were some very beautiful shots of the woods and the lake scenes and the location scouts should be commended for doing a great job. Given that the scenery plays such an important part in the plot, I suppose that it is understandable that the producers went all out on this aspect of the film.
