First off I hate Obie. Like genuinely why hasn't he been written out. BUT I did finally feel some group chemistry and I liked the museum scene. Zoya was annoying (as is par for the course) and this threesome storyline is getting more annoying than Serena's million boyfriends. I'm rooting for Monet so much nobody cares about baldy Julien.
While this episode was good, I think that GG 2.0 is a beautiful example of everything that is wrong with teen dramas wrapped up with a red ribbon into one flaming pile of dog poop. The episodes are too long and we don't get to know enough about the characters. There's too much focus on the "taboo" topics and it feels weird because these are supposed to be 16 year olds.
And finally, most importantly, there are no fine shyts among the men. In the 2000s there must have been something special in the water because the male leads were something else. To be completely fair, millennials must have been blind because Chuck Bass looks like a little goblin man (I hate his voice I hate his big head I hate everything about him) and is completely mogged by Nate. However, Nate is Jensen Ackles and Tom Welling level fine and he carries the male cast on his back in terms of looks (even with the terrible haircut and busted lip in s6 he eats dan and chuck up), so it evens out. Meanwhile, I struggle to remember a single male face in this new show. The women are gorgeous but women are naturally more attractive than men so...
If the OG was Ultraviolence, the reboot is Ocean Boulevard but JUST the Judah Smith interlude repeated over and over again. The acting is bad, the writing is bad, and everything is bad.
