Inspirational Series
griffinwpearson17 September 2021
I'm a SpaceX fanboy, so I'm usually geeking out on technical side, but this series is really inspirational and I think it brings the space excitement to the masses. It's a well done series without getting too technical. (I'll get my nerdy fix from The Everyday Astronaut on YouTube). Worth a watch.

Couple of stars off for the music, especially then end of ep 4 song.
gazzalodi13 September 2021
Interesting background stories of the 3 everyday folks and their billionaire benefactor taking them all to space.

Not much in it for the hard science space fans, but if you like stories about everyday people taking on grand adventures this is pretty good.

Not sure why people are complaining about SpaceX advertising itself. It's a for-profit company, of course they are going to advertise the heck out of themselves to drum up business. Good on them, I hope they get more business and are able to send even more people into space and get the funding to get us to Mars in my lifetime. I watched the moon landings when I was seven and it sucks that we've done bupkis since. None of the other alternative organizations are making the progress SpaceX is at present.

You must be a cynic to not enjoy this
carolinexxcaroline24 September 2021
I find this mission truly inspirational and I think that the bad reviews are based on a misunderstanding. If you think that everything is about money and clout, what does that say about your worldview and your values?

JARED I gotta say, I was impressed by the guy. He's rich and he still strives for excellence in areas that doesn't directly benefit him, at least not financially. I admire that. He's a good pilot and no matter how rich you are, you can't buy that, it's plain hard work. I think that anyone who is testing his limits and puts in real effort in an area can recognize that in Jared.

There are a lot of athletes, for example, who do races or attempt records while doing fundraisers. Is everyone doing it for clout or are they not rich enough to qualify? 'Cause people here seem to dismiss the money Jared has raised/is raising. People seem to forget that money and fame don't make you happy, but having meaning in your life does. So, you can be a cynic and say he is doing it for clout or simply understand that meaning comes from doing something bigger than yourself, something that benefits others too.

His suggestion about going higher than the ISS if possible made sense. Props to Jeff Bezos, but that was underwhelming. To be inspiring, you need to test the limits.

The guy financed the mission himself. Those were his seats. He chose to do something meaningful and spend a ton of money.

SPACEX It made humanity excited about going to space again. It's the frontier of innovation and creativity, it's profitable, effective and gets stuff done. That's priceless. Sure, you can see the Moon landing too as a big PR campaign for USA, but it was so much more. This documentary is so much more. Sure, it looks like a bit cheesy and old SF movie, EXCEPT that it's real. We are starting catching up with the fiction.

THE CREW These are real people with great stories given an amazing opportunity. I've read the accusation of them being used by SpaceX to be discarded afterwards. Again, this is a very cynical view. Firstly, it's their choice. Secondly, what about soldiers and volunteers? What motivates them? I doubt it's money.

Is SpaceX taking advantage of them? I don't see how. It was Jared's mission anyway. They get the opportunity of a lifetime. I would say that that's priceless. Not everything is about money, guys. It's meaning that makes your life worth living.

All in all, it's a documentary worth seeing if you are not full of resentment or think that billionaires are by definition bad people that steal money.

Well done and something everyone should see...

Warning: Spoilers
No reason to go on and on about this. I think this was a great series and with only a few weeks to put together the last episode they did great. I don't think people realize there were shots/video in here that has never been done before for a space launch, the Dragon take off shot circling around overhead, WOW!

Wonderful series, wonderful cause for St Jude's Hospital, SpaceX and myriad of workers there everyday doing what 10 years ago was impossible and to the crew of I4; great work and thanks.

I only hope as there's more time that maybe we'll see more footage from their time in space.

Thank you!

Hopeful!
mohammadjayyousi29 September 2021
I am a19 yo, and for the past 6 years, I have been lucky to explore what Nasa and Spacex are. As someone from East- Jerusalem, I would never be able to do so if it was not for the internet. Even if it has been just through my laptop screen, my view of the world has been absolutely shifting and the feeling of accomplishment that I got to be shared with, gave me so much inspiration and hope! And it just keeps doing so. I personally believe, and I definitely see it happening, we humans are evolving for the better and we are able to influence each other as individuals way better than ever. And people like Elon Musk Jared Isaceman, Sian, Hayley , Christopher and all of the people behind the making of the Inspiration4 team, are thee great proof of that!

I can not describe my happiness watching the inspiration4 mission. And can not wait to see more of such great things happening & to be shared with the world. I can not recommend watching this documentary highly enough, because it delivers a great messages and very inspiring stories which are worthwhile watching every second of it.

Inspirational but too Long
avakay-982877 August 2022
This show about the 4 civilians going into space is good. It would have been better as a 90 minute movie. Way too long talking about family details etc. It's like they built this space mission documentary into a Hallmark movie.

A PR campaign done on the back of some "lucky" individual
pere_tech7 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm all for space travel and i'm fascinated by the leaps and bounds SpaceX went though in the last years but this series is just pure marketing and PR strategy cooked between some brand strategists. Which is sad!

They used people's life stories to sell the private space program. Hand picked stories and people that "propel" SpaceX as a benefactor for all people out there. Especially those who struggle.

"The deserving to go to space" line is inspirational and is probably sound but not like this. Not by using people's lives to further your interests. I'm pretty sure these people won't get a cut from all your future profits even though they are essentially brand ambassadors.

Hollow
robin-vanee8 September 2021
For a supposed documentary it's very light on information. If you're interested in space travel, there will be very little in here that you don't already know.

The usefulness of the mission is never stated, and the documentary makes it seem like nothing more than a marketing campaign for space tourism.

Moving experience and lives
monicagerson21 November 2021
I saw this countdown twice till today. I loved it. I think that the four people selected for it were fantastically chosen.

And they represented what they aught.

Also music 🎶 in this series was the best choice.

I would have like to be there, inside, making photos of all the experience and the world being stared from there.

Some bitter and jealous reviews on here!
jp3007 February 2022
To the bitter reviews, grow up! It's an incredible story what Musk did for the crew. The negative comments because he's the richest man on earth and is serious about Space exploration. Yet we have Branson and Bezos sending rich people up for a view. Musk had opened the door to the average Joe who don't get these opportunities.

It's a fantastic documentary, just watch it and enjoy without being over dramatic that Musk funded it.
