Lee dong wook never disappoints
tpeyton-276505 February 2022
Liked Squid Game and Strangers from Hell and though oh I could watch a drama with these two where they're enemies, that'd be cool? Well, this drama tricks you. Wi Ha Joon and Lee Dong Wook are presented as enemies in the trailer and the first few episodes but the show quickly develops the relationship into the most beautiful "brotherhood". This show made me cry at every corner and made me literally knee-slap-laugh. The action was great and energizing. If this was on Netflix it would've been #1, I'm sure. I loved the female characters, from the ex girlfriend to the villain to the grandmother, all of them were so well written and likable. I loved the entire cast. Lee Dong Wook ofc is a well trusted actor but Wi Ha Joon really shines here as well, which again is impressive when you pit him against such a great actor. So impressed with this show!

SO GOOD
Yoonluv23 May 2022
Now I'm not gonna lie I did watch this purely for Dong wook and hajun but I wasn't expecting anything less since they are both amazing actors. This show is so so so good. It's so funny and so engaging I couldn't stop watching and ended up just binging it in two days. You will not be bored watching this show I guarantee. They balance out seriousness and humour so well that at one point I was so sad and then less that .3 seconds later I was laughing. They even put just the right amount of romance in it but not to much as to take over the whole purpose of the show. It was a satisfying amount. I really enjoyed this show and would highly recommend it to others if you like comedy and crime dramas.

A show that investigates crimes, but also digs into the hearts of heroes
Keepin-it-Kind20 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Soo-Yeol is a competent and yet corrupt police officer (ironically) working for the Anti Corruption Unit. He's ambitious and is given an opportunity by Congressman Do Yoo Gon to get a promotion. It's around this time that he's on his way to the next level, that the righteous but crazy "K", enters his life. "K" dreams of being a hero. He serves as a foil to Soo-Yeol and helps him regain his humanity. The show investigates crimes, but also digs into the wounds and hearts of its heroes. Though "Bad and Crazy" goes through several story arcs, it is primarily a tale of two sides of the same person and breaks down taboos about mental illness. The writing on the show is air-tight, and I thought the casting for both leads and supporting roles was superb. It's also a story about self-discovery and being your own hero.

Incredibly Entertaining
fake_moviestar30 January 2022
Bad and Crazy was a rare gem of a show that ticked all the right boxes: it blends a serious plot line seamlessly with genuine comedic moments, it's well written, has a great cast, a fun soundtrack, and it has a satisfying ending. The moments between Su Yeol and K are the heart of the show, and its obvious the actors had great chemistry together. The fight scenes are so much fun to watch, they are both well choreographed and realistic looking. The length of episodes was also perfect, nothing was dragged out and the story line was wrapped up in a way that did not feel rushed. I thought the psychological aspect was done well, and while a tad over dramatic at times, it was incredibly entertaining so I give it a pass.

I enjoyed every single episode and would absolutely re-watch this in a heartbeat!

I loved this like crazy!
nazmul39921 December 2021
From the beginning I thought it's like fight club movie. I was a little curious to see. It didn't take long for the story to unfold. You may not get the thrill of sitting down to watch, but every moment will make you think. Yes it's different from fight club movie. I loved the drama and enjoyed it the whole time.

As far as a pilot episode goes, it doesn't get any crazier than this!
vicarious_life17 December 2021
I've seen my fair share of Korean TV tropes and stories but this show still managed to provide a unique viewing experience.

Actors are perfectly cast and even though the overall corruption/abuse of power theme has been exhaustively explored in Korean TV, I still look forward to the next episodes.

Also, this might be my favorite pilot episode from any TV show ever and I hope the quality remains constant throughout the series. I also like that the Bad and Crazy has 12 episode instead of usual 16 which makes some series longer than necessary.

The two leads make it entertaining
chayanuch-0596217 April 2022
I was watching this during my beach holiday and really enjoyed the show, especially with the two main cast. The script is moderate, could be better but still enjoyable. Overall acting is quite good. Will look forward to the second season.

Good Enough
PennyReviews17 February 2022
Korean Drama "Bad and Crazy" is a crime action series with strong performances and interesting characters.

The drama starts strong right from the very beginning, with an intriguing crime case and the mysterious K's first appearance. The story progresses smoothly, though the plot didn't maintain the same level of entertainment throughout all of the episodes. Rather, there were some ups and downs, and some scenes that were tiring and far stretched. However, things picked up in the final episodes, with the new main villain being rather sneaky and the twists, which were plenty, offered a lot of suspense. That is when the bromance truly shined.

And for real, the two main characters were the highlight of the drama, along with the well-crafter action scenes. The performances were indeed on point from everyone in the cast, but the main leads were especially enjoyable. The same goes for the OST of the drama which was perfect for the genre of the series and created the perfect atmosphere.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

Loved Every Actor!
cdcarder-3026030 November 2022
All the actors were perfectly casted. I could not pick a favorite in this one - Wi Ha Joon, Lee Dong Wook, N, Lim Ki Hong, Cha Si Won - all top notch! Choi Kwang-Je and Sung Ji Ru kept me smiling everytime they came on screen. Han Ji Eun was good, but her character itself felt almost as an after-thought. But, Kim Is Ha really stole the show in her scenes - such good acting from such a little one! Too many other good actors to name, but they were all enjoyable to watch. The script jumped around too much for me. It was fast pace and interesting, but just missing something. The show was a solid 8.5 but I gave it a 9 because1/2 stars are not an option.

Could have been better
Glue2Screen16 February 2023
Bad and Crazy was not the best series despite some glowing reviews. Despite the fairly interesting crime mystery at its core, the writing, action sequences, elements in the acting and themes were very poorly executed.

The writing started to show its lack of depth at the 6th episode point. The main antagonist(s) were all revealed and the only thing keeping the series going was basically the antics of K and Ryu. There were a lot irrational character decisions seemed to only serve to elongate the run time rather than build on suspense.

There were only a couple of fight scenes that wasn't cringy. Many of the "minion" character seem to fall like straws, barely withstanding any punches. The fight choreography felt bland despite some homage to other movies (ie Transporter grease fight scene). Perhaps the fight scenes are meant to be more funny as this series is labelled "comedy". Sadly these scenes failed to be comedic or overly impressive. Would have benefitted to take a page out of Jackie Chan movies where the perfect amount of humour is thrown in.

My main gripe with this series is the poor handling of the themes of drug addiction and homelessness. The makeup, costume and portrayal all felt like an afterthought as if they were all just creating in what they perceive what drug addiction/homeless would look like rather than actually doing research.

Lastly, aside from Lee DongWook and Wi Ha-Joon (both of whom are superb in their roles), a lot of the acting of the other actors felt so forced and cringy. Unlike Crash Landing On You where the side characters stole the show, Bad and Crazy's side characters were forgettable and bit dull at times.

Overall, first half of series was fun ride but the latter half was just 1.5x speed glances at screen to see how antagonist gets punished.

Power packed with action and craziness
pranayjalvi28 January 2022
Bad and Crazy is an action thriller with a lot of comedy added with suspense as well. Believe me, you will not be bored in this drama due to it's intensity in story and an outstanding techno music to match with it.

With an amazing political corruption plotline, adding with dual personality and drug abuse, Bad and Crazy doesn't leave anything that we cannot be impressed with. The bromance between Lee Dong Wook and Wi Ha Joon was a pleasure to watch, alongside the supporting characters who held this drama and made it power packed. Though some twists and tropes might initially leave viewers feeling muddled, power through them and the pieces slowly start to fall into place, compelling you to sit back, relax and enjoy the wild ride that is Bad and Crazy.

My Rating : 8.5/10.

First 2/3rds is funny and entertaining.
phd_travel16 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The first 2/3rds of this series is entertaining and funny. The rapport between Lee Dong Wook and his alter ego Wi Ha Joon is funny and one of the best uses of multiple personality disorder on screen. WHJ really gives a laugh out loud performance. Lee Dong Wook acts this multi layered character as only he can. There are few actors who do such edgy characters as he does in K drama. He gets punched so much he deserves an award for all the suffering. The action is a bit too violent and repetitive. I know it is an action crime show but it gets too much towards the end. One crime leads to another. But the last third of this show suffers from too many characters and frustrating plot devices. It's too bad, this show should have just ended earlier then it would have been quite good.

Fight Club Vigilante
dumsumdumfai7 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ep 1-5 This is an ongoing review. The hidden trick is kind of obvious, the plot drags a little, villain too over the top and sentiments are high. I like the fight scenes and the female lead needs more screen time !!! The first case is ties all the cases together so far is nice. But still thin plot in-between so it does seems longer than necessary so far.

Ep 6-9 Well, don't think I can go on further. It's got moments but far and few between. There is new cases but just too interspersed with too many other things going on. The mother's condition, the brothers restaurant, the past romance...etc Plus the drug lord actress will likely come back too. The cops childhood comes into play but it feels drag out for me.

6 is probably a generous rating.

Bad and Crazy is a True Thrill!
spasek26 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This may be one of the most unique psychological thrillers I've ever seen. I'll admit that I was a bit confused during the first two episodes as I tried to figure out what the heck was going on with Detective Ryu Soo Yeol who is a part of the Anti-Crime Unit, which basically equivalent to our Internal Affairs. He's trying to piece together evidence of a missing woman, but a mysterious man in a motorcycle jacket and helmet keeps showing up out of the blue and beating the daylights out of him. While it made for intriguing scenes and shifts within the story, it also left me puzzled.

It wasn't until the end of the second episode that I realized that "K"-the man in the motorcycle gear-is actually Ryu Soo Yeol's alter-ego. A part of himself that finds himself using when confronted with dangerous situations. The interactions between K and Ryu Soo Yeol aren't just interesting but also contain some of the funniest interactions of the series.

Of course, as with so many other Korean dramas, there is always more to things than meets the eye, as Korean stories are often like onions. You have to peel back another layer to find out what else is going on. At first, we start with-what appears to be-a simple missing persons case that turns into a ring of drug dealers, which then turns into the mastermind who is secretly plotting Ryu Soo Yeol's downfall. A deep, dark secret from his past as he struggles to put the pieces together as well as dealing with the fact that he's got a split personality. In the hands of a lesser writer and director, this series could have easily become ridiculous and laughable.

As the series begins, it's obvious that Ryu Soo Yeol is a very self-absorbed guy. He is just as corrupt as the police officers that he investigates. He's not above taking bribes and even turning his back on justice and doing the right thing for an envelope of money. He also warms himself up to his superiors, and by all intensive purposes, he's living the good life without much care. In many ways, the transformation of Ryu Soo Yeol from nonchalant playboy to someone who finally begins caring about doing the right thing, coincides with the appearance of "K."

However, it soon begins to be painfully obvious that Ryu Soo Yeol is a bright but careless detective, often going into dangerous situations alone rather than with a partner. There's a reason why police officers and detectives have partners. First and foremost is so that the partner can corroborate their story and version of what happens. There are several cases where Ryu Soo Yeol might have avoided a situation if he'd used a partner.

Lee Hee Kyum is his love interest and fellow officer. Their relationship begins tenuously because it's obvious that Ryu Soo Yeol had a short fling with her. However, it's quite obvious that she still has feelings for him. She's a capable officer, although she does fail to follow one of the most basic rules of handling firearms: never draw your weapon unless you're prepared to use it. Such carelessness puts her in a dangerous situation and could have gotten her killed.

The relationship between Ryu Soo Yeol and "K" as well as with Ryu Soo Yeol's enemy Jung Hyun Soo is what drives this series. It has quite a thrilling and captivating story when we finally realize who is behind the sinister plot to destroy Ryu Soo Yeol.

I've seen Lee Dong Wook already in "Touch My Heart" in which he was fabulous. I was more than a little blown away by his portrayal of a very different kind of character in Ryu Soo Yeol. Performances in general were fantastic in this series.

For a series filled with action, suspense, and humor, this one isn't one that should be overlooked!

ART!
DodaOz3 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Lee Dongwook and Wi Hajoon are such a amazing duo onscreen! Bad And Crazy slaps with its comedic moments, awesome fighting scenes and a interesting story line.

It's a short ride - with only 12 episodes - but everything ends perfectly wrapped up to every character, and at the same time makes me want to see more; I don't feel like it's Su Yeol's last goodbye to his partnership with K. Maybe one day, who knows?

I absolutely loved this show. The storyline is so cleverly written and the acting feels so genuine and real. The chemistry between the cast members really brought the characters to life. Every episode had me engaged and excited for more; the last few episodes especially had me on the edge of my seat. This is definitely one of my favourite series!

I'm a little busy at the moment
alaningle714 December 2022
A dodgy police officer suddenly takes a different path when he develops a split personality as a result of trauma from his past. The main theme running through the series is a serial killer who has links with the detective from his childhood. The detective is played by Lee Dong-Wook who always does an excellent job and the supporting cast are all well played. I was particularly impressed with the excellent performance of Kim Hieora who plays the head of a drug syndicate and holds your attention when she is on screen and I would have liked her story expanded. It is an interesting concept but I think they slightly got the balance wrong between the humour and the gruesome murders although it is worth a watch.

Insanly CRAZY!!!
anaaannya11 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
BAD AND CRAZY begins with the introduction of Ryu Soo-yeol, a promotion-seeking anti-corruption cop played by drama heavyweight Lee Dong-wook, who is willing to sacrifice all moral righteousness in his pursuit of power. Things start to go wrong for him when he wakes up to find his car smashed to pieces, followed by a continuous beating to a pulp with no recollection or evidence of who the perpetrator might be.

Soo-yeol eventually puts the puzzle pieces together & realizes he has a split personality disorder. He's the one who has been terrorizing him. Or, more specifically, it's his motorcycle-helmeted alter ego K, righteous other half, expertly played by Wi Ha-Joon. As the show's title implies, it's essentially a story about two sides of the same person.

As the story progresses, we develop more sympathy for Soo-yeol. As the most successful professional member of his family, he inadvertently feels obligated to provide everything for them. So, his motivations & apparent disregard for everyone else around him begin to make sense.

Away from this, the introduction of a murderous Korean-Russian drug ring into the fold shifts things to the left. At this point, the show is on the verge of having one too many corruption-driven plot arcs, but it worked. However, the fact that it works is largely due to Kim Hieora's performance as Boss Yang, the ruthless, lollipop-sucking cartel kingpin. I literally fall in love with her character.

Overall, BAD AND CRAZY has one of those casts that you know you'll miss when it's over. The plot isn't new, but the split-personality twist adds a new taste to it. It manages to tell a violent story with a surprising amount of sentimentality. At times, the show even attempts to break down the taboos associated with discussing mental illness. While it may appear that the show is stumbling through what appears to be a million different story arcs - which borders perilously close to being messy or confusing - the watertight writing, pitch-perfect casting, great production value save the series & keep it from running wild.

Bad and Crazy and Fantastic!
vicknair-6665610 January 2023
First of all, the cast is extraordinary!

Lee Dong-Wook as Ryu Sool-yeol is the protagonist, but accompanied by his hero sidekick, Wi Ha-joon (as K, his alter ego). The two of them create one of the most fun and unusual bromances in film!

But the rest of the cast is just as stellar, with Jung Sung Il as the villain you love to hate, and Kim Hieora as Boss Yoon, the villainess you cheer for, at least at the end.

Han Ji-eun is also great as the super cool detective/ love interest, and it's especially fun when K gets involved.

N (Cha Hak Yeon) is Oh Kyeong-tae, another great performance in the world of detectives.

A really enjoyable watch; I'm hoping for another season!

Story W/Nothing To It, Runs In Place Forever
kpatterson-1802821 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The main character does all he can to avoid seeing, hearing, or doing anything a good detective wood do. Willful blindness to justice. He is haunted by his ghost alter ego who wants him to do the Right thing. So there are dozens, upon dozens, upon dozens, upon thousands of scenes of this Detective chasing his dream/spirit of vengeance around, while the dream/spirit plays coy and kicks his butt time after time. It never ends. Endless loops of this same cat & mouse.

The long and short of the crime/murder is quite simple, direct, and could be fully sorted out in just 4 episodes. Now....imagine that it takes 12 episodes to complete the series. So.....PAINFUL. These other reviews just are not being honest.

Quickly, you want to know who is this dream spirit of vengeance, and why should the series take so long to give this character any context! On top of that....

Why does the series have so much time to dawdle around going nowhere in thousands upon thousands of nonsensical comedic loops that are SO annoying. We are in the midst of a murder cover-up, corruption, and heavy crime content, only to do the whole Keystone Cops stuff of running around in circles slipping and falling on bananas and spaghetti?!!?!

And there are more scenes like this to fill in for the lack of missing content, so as to allow 4 episodes to stretch out to 12 episodes.

It does not get better. By the time you get to the end of episode 3, you'll know that you've wasted time.

You could write more, but how much can you write or say to try to co vey the overarching idea of "Terrible"?

This was really fun and action packed. I watched because of Lee Dong wook and Wi hajoon and they were fantastic with each other, their chemistry was so entertaining. This is basically like if fight club was a drama. "K" = Tyler Durden lol.

It's really good and I'd watch it again too. The action sequences were awesome and the plot was interesting and to keep me entertained.

I luv every second of this fast past who dun it .These are some of the best Kdrama actors in the biz .This was a surprise. My favorite male lead from Little women sooo sexy..I think Netflix is stepping up its game as far as showing more up to date Kdramas and now realizing how popular Kdrama is. Kpop Kdrama are so popular with Americans. So I hope they keep up the good work because people are loving it as so do. I have a suggestion maybe start doing watch parties if you are not already and would love to see an interactive comment section where you comment thru out the show like this other channel does. Netflix keep up the good work.

Wow! Craziness and mayhem
shenad1815 April 2023
If you are a fan of Lee Dong Wook and think he only acts calm, collected, sexy characters, you have to watch this to see him in a totally different perspective as a smart yet corrupt team leader of a crimes unit in the police force, Sool Yeol! Loved him in this and hope to see him in more such action dramas.

Ja Hoon is amazing as the counter personality K. He is constantly egging on Sool Yeol to break him out of his comfort zone and chase after justice, not simply kow tow to his superiors at work

Interesting perspectives of corruption practices revealed in this drama as well as amazing actors and actresses, heaps of fun and laughter. Kind of reminded me of Will Smith's Bad Boys.
