Morgan Freeman's series Through the Wormhole may have gained pop-culture traction last year when the famously satin-voiced actor sucked down helium, but season 2 of the Science Channel show isn't afraid to get serious.
And, despite the signature twinkle in Freeman's eyes during the opening moments of the season's first episode, "Are We Bigots?" – which People has obtained exclusively – the premiere is unflinching in its acknowledgment of people's ingrained biases.
Never was the relevance of the topic more clear than, during the episode's development, when the country erupted over the shooting of unarmed black teen Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri,...

So the big Emmys don't air until next Sunday night and at Moviefone we will have, of course, full coverage. But last night the Creative Arts Emmys were handed out, for the people that are largely responsible for making these shows that you absolutely love -- you know, the behind-the-scenes talent tasked with conceptualizing and realizing your favorite programs. Oh -- and some guest actor and actresses awards were handed out, so there's that too!
In the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series category Uzo Aduba took home the prize for "Orange is the New Black." Since we are, very shamefully, one of a handful of Americans who hasn't seen a single second of "Orange in the New Black," this doesn't mean a whole lot to us, but we are very happy for her! (We promise, we'll watch soon.) For the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, the...

The first round of 2014 Emmy Awards were handed out at the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony on Saturday (August 16) night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The ceremony, which precedes the Monday, August 25 Primetime Emmy Awards telecast, offered signs of hope for a number of drama and comedy hopefuls. Netflix's "Orange Is The New Black," for example, won Emmys for editing, series casting and for Uzo Aduba, who is considered a guest actress for the purposes of these awards. No other comedy series was able to build any other momentum going into next week's show, with "The Big Bang Bang Theory," "Nurse Jackie," "How I Met Your Mother" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" grabbing isolated tech prizes and Jimmy Fallon winning the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series award for the second time in three years for his "Saturday Night Live" hosting duties. The two guest acting awards on the drama side...

So ridiculous! Morgan Freeman stopped by the "Tonight Show" on Thursday, where Jimmy Fallon and the actor inhaled helium from balloons during their interview. Check out the hilarious clip above! Freeman stopped by to promote his new web series "Through The Wormhole," but talk quickly changed from the show to Morgan's boat, where the late night host cracked jokes about never being invited and dubbed him "Captain Morgan." But it was hard to take the two seriously, as they chatted in high-pitched voices ... even Fallon couldn't stop laughing throughout the conversation. The "Lucy" star did maintain his serious demeanor, which made Freeman's helium voice all the more hilarious. What do you think about Morgan and Jimmy's interview? Morgan Freeman has made a career out of having all the answers. Whether he’s playing God or simply hosting his new science show, Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman, Freeman’s voice is the definitive voice of authority. In Lucy, Freeman even spouts incorrect science—but it’s easy to (almost) believe him.
Anyway, Jimmy Fallon had Freeman on Tonight on Thursday, and he decided it was time to take Freeman down a notch. He took out two helium-filled balloons and conducted an interview with Freeman without Freeman’s trademark voice.

Jimmy Fallon took the smooth, calming drawl of Morgan Freeman's voice up a few notches on Thursday's Tonight Show.
The Oscar winner, 77, stopped by to promote his new movie Lucy, costarring Scarlett Johansson, but Fallon had other ideas. After watching Freeman sip helium on the science show Through the Wormhole, the late-night host convinced the star to do it again.
Equipped with a bounty of helium balloons, the pair began sucking them down and engaging in chipmunk-sounding chit chat.

Jimmy Fallon welcomed Morgan Freeman, executive producer of Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman (who made sure the host read out the full title) onto The Tonight Show on Thursday, and made him sound like never before. "Everyone loves your voice, but I always wondered what your voice would sound like on helium," revealed Fallon, before pulling out two bright red balloons filled with the gas. Jimmy Fallon and Morgan Freeman did a great job of feigning disdain for one another during Freeman's appearance on “The Tonight Show.” Fallon started off on the wrong foot by identifying Freeman's show as simply “Through the Wormhole.” When he was corrected that the full title was “Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman,” Fallon rolled his eyes. “Well, this is ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,'” he retorted. “So, ‘with’ is pretty interesting, but I'm ‘Starring’ in this.” See video: Morgan Freeman Says Not to Make Race A ‘Bigger Issue Than It Needs to Be’ In a nod to a bit from “Through.

On his educational show Through the Wormhole With Morgan Freeman, the distinguished actor helped to demonstrate the wonders of science by altering his iconic baritone with the help of a helium balloon. Tonight, he did it again, not in the name of science, but for the much more common reason that celebrities do things: because Jimmy Fallon tells them to. Sure, we expected this slavish adherence to the will of Fallon from the likes of Emma Stone or Halle Berry, but not from you, Morgan. Not from you.

If you thought nothing could top Morgan Freeman talking on helium, you might want to reconsider. The June 25 episode of his Science Channel series Through the Wormhole explores the question, “Is a Zombie Apocalypse Possible?” Frightened? As Freeman told EW earlier this month, you don’t really have to be: “This whole thing with zombies is Bs, for the most part. However, there is another side to that one coin: There are zombies, at least in the insect world.”

Everyone knows Morgan Freeman is one of the world's most gifted actors. But along with his high profile big screen accomplishments, Mr. Freeman has a long association with educational TV. Many of a certain age remember him as Easy Reader (The Electric Company) while others may recall him as Fredrick Douglas (PBS's The Civil War). His work in educational TV continues to this day with his work on the Science Channel's Through The Wormhole With Morgan Freeman.
The show explores the deepest mysteries of existence — the questions that have puzzled mankind for eternity.
Can we eliminate evil? What is nothing? Is there a superior race? These questions have been pondered by the most exquisite minds of the human race. Now, science has evolved to the point where hard facts and evidence may be able to provide us with answers instead of philosophical theories.

Morgan Freeman told CNN's Don Lemon he doesn't think race still plays a role in income inequality, and that people shouldn't make it “a bigger issue than it needs to be.” “Do you think that race plays a part in wealth distribution?” Lemon asked the “Through the Wormhole” star in an interview Tuesday. “Today?” Freeman asked.”No. No, I don't. You and I, we're proof.” “Why would race have anything to do with it?” he said. “Put your mind to what you want to do and go for that.

Morgan Freeman's voice is so familiar from film roles, documentaries and commercials that it's a surprise to hear it altered in any way, like if someone added googly eyes to the Mona Lisa.
Which is why it's so amusing to find out what the Shawshank Redemption star sounds like when he inhales helium, as Freeman did in a recent promo for the Science Channel series Through the Wormhole, which he hosts. He doesn't sound himself, but then, he doesn't sound not himself either – the result is akin to either Donald Duck doing a Morgan Freeman impression, or Morgan Freeman doing a Donald Duck impression.

His voice is instantly recognizable and as one of the most famous actors in the business, Morgan Freeman could run the risk of taking himself too seriously.
But thankfully the “Bruce Almighty” star is a big fan of being silly, as proven in a new video clip from The Science Channel.
Morgan filmed a promo spot for his “Through the Wormhole” documentary series, which kicks off its fifth season on June 4th.
And midway through, Freeman starts taking hits from a big red balloon filled with helium. The result is marvelous!

There are just certain questions of the Universe that we've been so desperate to answer, it actually keeps us awake at night. For example: Why is Jason Biggs still a thing? Does anyone know? We don't really need him on Orange Is the New Black, right? But anyway. Today, we can finally give you guys the answer to one of life's greatest mysteries: What does Morgan Freeman's voice sound like when he sucks on a helium balloon? Thankfully, the man with the iconic voice did just that for Science Channel's Through the Wormhole (returning June 4) and it's everything we wanted and more. You guys, Morgan Freeman inhaled helium for scientific purposes. Life is amazing.

Morgan Freeman is known almost as well for his low voice as for his acting skills, so there's something pretty perfect about hearing how he sounds after sucking on a helium balloon. In a clip from the Science Channel's Through the Wormhole, a documentary Freeman hosts about the mysteries of the universe, the actor spoke normally before inhaling the helium, his voice turning hilariously squeaky. Of course, high-pitched helium voices are nothing new, but it's far more entertaining when it's Freeman, right?...
