Eun Pyo needs to go to therapist
dewindrrr25 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I've watched til eps 15. I don't like eun pyo as a person. She deffinitely needs to go to a therapist.

Her husband is so kind to put up with her.

She named her husband "almost stranger", while she is the one who distant herself.

She has communication problem, it's so unfair for the husband.

SAY SOMETHING FOR THE LOVE OF GAWD EUN PYO!!!!!
sugardattie30 September 2022
I finished this hot mess. It wasn't so bad. But man, who is directing this poor actress??? Was the direction, "do not ever answer when people ask you a question. Look expressionless. And action! Or no action in this case!" There are other ways to convey what is going on in her head to act this way. It was puzzling to me to see why anyone would want to be friends with eun pyo. Only time she was interesting was when she was interacting with Chun Hye. And wow, the French couple. No thank you. Yes he's hot. But they were the least interesting in this whole show. I needed a couple of comics doing an episode by episode podcast. This would have been so fun to listen to!!! Such a mess of a show but i enjoyed watching it! Lol.

Eunpyo please say something
hibavaleska10 June 2022
Two things first : Eunpyo doesn't know how to speak or what? Half of the conversations with her are just the other moms talking and asking her and she just doesn't answer it frustrates me so much Also the French in this kdrama is traumatizing, the louis guy mentions that he knows how to speak Korean his wife does as well then why speak French with them in such a horrible accent gave me the ick multiple times Other than that this kdrama had a lot of potentioal, it could have reached sky castle leveling the dialogue wasn't that bad.

Why the bad review?
gclefjag7 June 2022
This is a good series, some people with children can definitely relate. It showed how mothers go all out for their children altho it can also backfire as is it really for the kid or for her own feeling to be on top of the other mothers that are struggling.

All of our kids are equal and precious
alaningle75 June 2022
The series is about a group of mothers some of who have a past with each other trying to make sure their gifted children shine in the local school. As the story unfolds it becomes darker, as all is not what it seems, and the unsavoury back story of some of the characters come to light. It is a well acted drama and the development of the characters was interesting but it seemed to fall short overall. I think because it had so many side stories it was difficult to become engaged as their was no real depth to individual cases and the plot often felt hurried to conclude a storyline.

I'm shocked when see another review.
zinemamoviemedia1 June 2022
I know why not everyone likes this. Maybe because it's talking about a parent that expected to tell about how hard to be a parent. But I like it because even though the story as long more complicated, I know that the creator really intend make the parent character as very main character. The creator want to show to us about parent problem that not only about take care of their child.

could have been much better
vera-vezneva11 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The main lead Eun Pyo is such a disappointment. She is unlikeable, I get that the idea is to show that she has communication problems, past traumas, etc. But it is really painful to watch the struggling actress.

The rest of the cast is OK, much better than the lead. The plot is OK, but the execution is simply not good enough, especially compared with Sky Castle, where there were plenty of strong actors.

Also, there is 0 chemistry between the socially awkward Eun Pyo and the french speaking actor, their story is simply not believable.

If only the main lead was different, this TV series could easily score 8/10.

Excellent drama series with strong women
onze-kris24 June 2022
So I watched episode 10 and if the series continues like this the rating of 10 stands.

I rank it right behind sky castle .

About korean series. I watched a ton for a westerner and at this point squid game is the worst I have seen.

There is 1 issue and that is the french speaking. That is unnecessary. But other than there is little to fault it.

Well the character Eun-pyo sometimes her acting is subdued. She looks pale according to where she is in the story. I personally don't like this choice but otherwise there is not a single thing I find distracting

The relationships between the women change constantly and we the viewer are confronted with their personal struggles and successes.

For me the series is about finding happiness. Real happiness and not the superfluous one that they chase.

Joo ye-rim (violinist) and Park ye-rin ( the girl that got accepted) do deliver great natural performances and while the focus isn't on them they do an excellent job at delivering the story in such a gripping way.

I would give too much away if I said more as the twists and the way they are delivered raises this from an average series to one of the best.

The director did an excellent job. And because of this it is a 10 and not an 8 or a 9.

Anyway check this out. It should get more attention than it does.

Maybe one more thing korean series are often darker ( both in color and the general story ) than western series so it might take some time to get used to. But when you do you will get rewarded.

EDIT: the french of the father got to me.... I had a hard time finishing episode 13 because of it... it also started to drag.... so ATM an 8.

Good Enough
PennyReviews2 August 2022
Korean Drama "Green Mothers' Club" is a basic drama about the battle between two mothers. It also involves some mystery about one of the mothers and her unfortunate death.

The dynamics between the two main leads were smooth and intense and they were just right to have the story moving forward. However, the main mystery, though thrilling at first, was a letdown in the end and got boring quickly. The school politics were just okay, though the story of Eunpyo and her son was well managed.

As for the performances, they were all pretty great, though some characters could have been handled differently.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

The lead is such a downer
pvpatel14 April 2022
I want to like this show because I love K dramas but the lead is so depressing. She is constantly judging people and has a frown on her face and brings down the show. I'm sure there's a reason why but I don't care enough about her character to be interested in why.

Explores motherhood, social issues & mental health in a very nuanced manner
shadowcat1627 June 2022
There are SOOO many layers to unpack in this K-drama. I honestly had very low expectations initially b/c the teaser for the series was pretty vague and boring, but I'm so glad I watched this show through to the end. It doesn't really pick up till ep. 3 or 4 though, so I think many of the ppl who gave negative reviews did so b/c they stopped watching after the first couple of episodes. But be patient, and you'll see why many of us gave this show rave reviews. I won't even try to explain what the series is about b/c it's too complex to try to explain in only a few sentences (and the summaries online don't do the show justice b/c it explores a wide range of issues around society, raising a family, and mental health). It's sadly also a fairly accurate portrayal of the kinds of challenges that many kids and parents go through in Korea, and I'm glad the creators were brave enough to tackle this thorny topic. Highly recommend if you want a glimpse into what Korean society is really like (for better or for worse lol)--just excuse the poor French that you sometimes hear being spoken in the series!

Protagonist is depressing and the french...
nvkoless15 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
OK! First review on here but this show irked me so much I had to.

For starters, the plot is boring! The trailer made it seem so cool like oooh aah housewives drama or something more like Sky Castle (solid show with lots of drama). But instead you're watching this woman rarely show any other emotions besides confused, sad, expressionless for an hour and every ep. The other women hate on her and I get why but it's not fun to watch lol.

It's also boring! Im on ep 2 but nothing about this show makes me want to continue it.

Slight spoiler I guess Eun-Pyo's son breaks one of the children's violin. Why are children so annoying. I was so annoyed when this happened like oh my gosh this is so stupid.

Anyways, the Mc is genuinely uninteresting at the point. I don't care what happened to her, and I don't care for what will.

Last note The french.. ok so I get the feeling that Korea idolizes Paris and France but every time this rich man shows up Mc and this other woman (auburn coloured hair) they must speak french. Are their accents horrible? Honestly it's not the worst thing I've heard, but as an English Canadian I'm cringing with the expressions chosen. Ça va is repeated MULTIPLE times and it's so aggravating. It's a very informal french, something you say to your close friend but here it feels misused.

End of ep 1-2 spoiler Louis and Eun-Pyo have past history. They speak french together due to Louis being born in France (I'm pretty sure). On multiple occasions they use Ça va in the weirdest contexts? Mc faints and while in hospital the first thing he asks is « Ça va » PLEASE STOP 😭 SHE JUST FAINTED COME ON PUT SOME MORE WORDS INTO IT IM BEGGING YOU. They've probably said it five times in a couple of scenes inbetween the last part of ep1-begnning of ep 2. And then what prompted me to come review this was when Auburn haired woman explains to Mc that Louis is Henri's father. Louis walks up to the women and says « Ça Va? » PLEASE WRITERS USE OTHER EXPRESSIONS. ITS GENUINELY PAINFUL. Its so repetitive that I'd imagine non french speakers picking up on how they wrote his dialogue.

Final thoughts: probably won't finish it, too long and uninteresting. I don't care about any of the characters and the story seems to have been a jumble of many other stories before it.

Imho, skip it.

Don't be put off by the negative reviews
jazmine-5581525 June 2022
I quite enjoyed this series and thought it is good that they're tackling different issues in these type of series now. It might be slow for some but overall its a good drama and you should give it a chance if you're into the type of TV series.

Maybe the worst Korean TV series I've ever seen
mickeymao29 May 2022
I love chu ja hyeon. She is a true beauty. But to be fair, almost every kid in this show act better than her, and she's better than any adult actress and actor already. The whole story is so coincidental. Everyone seems to be crazy, unreasonable, even lunatic (maybe except eun pyo's husband for he's a police officer). Again, chu ja hyeon is as beautiful as always. But the show is such a disaster.

Green Mothers
Park_Min10 March 2024
At first sight, you might think this drama was about the mothers and children in this community, but the mystery tag was there for a reason. This drama was kind of a mess; it tried to pack in a lot of themes and tropes you often find in female centered plots but failed to do any of them right and brushed off each one shortly after. The plot was equally disorganized and messy; it started with the ghosts from the past, the community of mothers and the tension with Jin Ha, then shifted to the female lead's prodigy kid, then turned into a murder mystery "whodunit," then moved on to some side stories, and then returned to the murder mystery with crimes and drugs. What even was that? I'm not sure what is the correlation between female centered plots and displaying all men in a negative light; this drama was no exception. If their intent was to give a highlight with social commentary, then it's obviously not a good way to do it.

Eun pyo is a horrible wife and a bad person
iqramusulmana21 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A lot of things are good in this drama, but the main character is a crap.

Eun pyo is so horrible as a wife all the time. Half of the show is her silent, quiet in the most important moments. But acting stupidly wrong and speaking just in the wrong moments.

I'm finishing the show and I'm hatting her... Spoiler alert!

Man, how can she be such a nasty betray wife, protecting a criminal shamelessly, isn't a crime in Korea to help running away a criminal and tempering an ongoing investigation?

She is so wrong in so many ways. I hate the way they built her character, her husband is such a good man, the only good husband of all the characters in the show and she's just so plain in everything except in being a horrible wife all the time.

So weird how she behave after the dead of the other "friend" who she was hating so much until she dies O.0 then she finally standup finally to speak the truth that she kept all along. Wow. Now she defend her all the way, she care about her and is kind to her, yes, only after she dies.

Ok but don't stop there, why? She have to make peace with her open enemy now, surely! Why not?

Now let's betray to her good husband, protecting a criminal who actually make her a lot of damage on the past. Hmmm so the lesson is to be good with the one who hate you and did wrong with, but be a crap with your protective supportive and good husband, why not!??

Be nasty with her good and kind husband.

Is she little bit mentally unstable? It was intended that way? Who write this garbage characters?

Everything else is goog in the show, some drama here and there and a lot of gossip from the mom's, but how they direct the main character was just bad, plain bad!

All her silence half of the show and in the most important moments and all her bad actions when she should just keep quiet.

No, Eun pyo as a main character is horrible.

So disappointed.
