Good premises gone wrong
akashsahil-8942513 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The film has a good premises, but nothing goes right for this movie. A guy who's addicted to porn goes to any extent "to do what"? The main character's arc is ill-defined, there is no objective he's chasing in the film. There is no logic in what he does, why would he severe his relationship to save a girl from a cheating husband? What's the onus on him to do so? There is absolutely no chemistry between the couple Avika Gor and Vishwa Dev. There are many loose ends left in the name of creative freedom, who's the one who plants spycams all over the world? Is it a mafia? What's their purpose in life to do it? The list is long if we start mentioning the loopholes. The only character that's written perfectly is Praneeta Patnaik who played Laxman's wife. The BGM is very good, the movie keeps you engaging in parts, but the end is flat. This film had the potential to develop into a solid thriller.

Net - Vela(Price rahul wanted), Vala (trap in which all the characters fell).
harishmadireddi24 January 2022
Movie was reasonable and the one thing which atanda out it holds you to screen untill last 10minutes. At a point.. movie seemed flat and aimless due to the characters journey but by the end.. all the points are well connected and revealed. Since the end titles showed will meet next year, i am assuming a sequal where the scam of cc cameras behing live streaming might be disclosed and the rahuls money payback is left. Rahul and his wife has nailed throughout the movie.. good to see avika after some time and she chose pretty fresh character considering her previous works. Acting was decent enough except the emotional scenes at the went little bit overboard but was fine. One thing which kept annoying through the film is the bgm and its inappropriateness, it was too bad and loud, even wrongly placed for few scenes. The emotion in the scene was different and the bgm emotion is different and it was repititive at times especially the bgm during love scenes. Overall it is a decemt attempt, waiting for part 2 if at all it is coming.

NET, on ZEE5, Is A Predictable Drama About Online Voyeurism That Tries Too Hard To Be A Thriller
shefali-5924430 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Bhargav Macharla's NET has many good ideas but they all work against each other. The film sets out to show what Lakshman's (Rahul Ramakrishna) online voyeurism does to his relationship with his devoted wife Suchitra (Pranitha Patnaik). It also tries to be a tech thriller about how Laxman gets access to cameras in Priya's house (Avika Gor). It gives that up for a sidestory about how Priya's husband Ranjith (Vishwadev Rachakonda) is cheating on her. There's a promising thread about how people are duped online but that's quickly abandoned in the end for a melodrama about Lakshman's guilt. None of the film's threads come together and NET never becomes anything more than just random but passably watchable episodes held together only by an effective Rahul Ramakrishna.
