Distributor Neon must have the marketing department working overtime to promote the July 12th theatrical release date of Longlegs, the latest horror project from The Blackcoat’s Daughter (a.k.a. February), I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, and Gretel & Hansel director Osgood Perkins. There has been a ton of cryptic promotional material put together for this movie, and today we’ve gotten our hands on yet another Longlegs teaser, which can be seen in the embed above, and poster, which can be found at the bottom of this article. Along with these comes a poem: “Listen loud the serpents, See the darkness slithering, Tell me what good is that body, If not for hiding shiny red parts.”
Maika Monroe of It Follows and The Guest stars in the film alongside Nicolas Cage (Dream Scenario), Alicia Witt (Urban Legend) and Blair Underwood (Agents of S.H.I.

Almost a year has gone by since it was announced that Theo James of The White Lotus had signed on to star in a Stephen King adaptation called The Monkey, coming from the team of producer / genre regular James Wan and director Osgood Perkins, whose credits include The Blackcoat’s Daughter (a.k.a. February), I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, Gretel & Hansel, and the upcoming Nicolas Cage horror film Longlegs. Longlegs won’t be reaching theatres until July 12th, but Deadline reports that filming on The Monkey has already wrapped. Their report also revealed the names of several cast members who will be sharing the screen with James: Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), Tatiana Maslany (She–Hulk: Attorney at Law), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Colin O’Brien (Wonka), Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends), and Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek).
Perkins wrote the screenplay for The Monkey, working from a King short story.

Neon has done a great job of promoting the upcoming horror film Longlegs while also keeping the story’s secrets concealed. Although multiple teaser trailers and posters have made their way online, we still don’t know a whole lot about this movie, beyond the fact that it’s scheduled to reach theatres on July 12th. But if you want to know exactly how much we do know about it, just keep scrolling down, because we have compiled a list of Everything We Know About Longlegs.

Neon’s marketing department is taking an awesome approach to promoting Longlegs, the latest horror project from The Blackcoat’s Daughter (a.k.a. We’re only a handful of days into the New Year, but we’re already receiving news of what movies and TV shows will leave Netflix UK in February 2024.
In case you missed it, we’re also keeping track of all of the movies and TV shows leaving Netflix UK in January 2024. If you’re looking for the US removals list, you can find all the departures for those in our February list here.
As a reminder, we typically get word of Netflix removals around 30 days before they’re due to happen. Netflix removes titles because much of its library consists of licensed titles. These licensed titles are essentially rented to Netflix for a fixed period of time, and when that time is up, they’re removed from the platform.

A few months ago, it was announced that the great Nicolas Cage will be starring in Longlegs, the latest horror project from The Blackcoat’s Daughter (a.k.a. February), I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, and Gretel & Hansel director Osgood Perkins. Two weeks ago, we learned that Maika Monroe (It Follows) has joined Cage in the cast – and in that casting announcement, it was mentioned that the project would be presented to potential distributors at this month’s European Film Market. Now, Deadline reports that things are going well for Longlegs at the EFM. According to Deadline, “Buyers consistently told us this week that Longlegs was among the pre-sale projects they most liked.” Black Bear International has secured the following international distribution deals: Metropolitan for France, Dcm for Germany, Rialto for Australia, DeaPlaneta for Spain, Sun for Latin America, Scanbox for Scandinavia, Belga for Benelux, Tfg for Greece,...

Zhang Yimou’s snowy period spy thriller “Cliff Walkers” debuted in China this Labor Day holiday weekend with $37.7 million. But it was outrun by local rom-com “My Love,” which took a comfortable box office victory.
That tale of young love starring Taiwan’s Greg Hsu and Zhang Ruonan of the popular TV show “Cry Me A Sad River” opened Friday to earn $65.1 million over three days, according to data from Artisan Gateway. Produced by Youth Enlight Pictures and directed by Han Tian (“Only the Wind Knows”), it grossed almost double the earnings of any competitor.
Hsu is one of a small handful of Taiwanese actors who declared political fealty to Beijing in March by vocally throwing his weight behind a state media-supported boycott of Western fashion brands worried about potential forced labor in the Xinjiang cotton industry. Critics say China has held more than a million ethnic Uighurs in the...

It’s a wonderful thing – the way horror comes in all flavors and varieties these days. Whether you’re into slashers and serial killers, ghosts and monsters, old school classics or found footage, there’s something out there that’s just right for you.
The same goes for those of us that think horror goes perfectly with a little bit of cheesy, spoofy comedy every once in a while. The Comedy/Action/Creature Feature 2 Lava 2 Lantula is exactly this type of film. Directed by Nick Simon (Removal, The Girl in The Photographs) and starring Steve Guttenberg, it’s the sequel to Syfy creature feature Lavalantula.

Playing as part of the 2016 Victoria Film Festival at: The Vic Theatre 808 Douglas St. Victoria, BC Friday, Feb 12 — 8:45pm The Girl in the Photographs is making its BC premiere during the 2016 Victoria Film Festival and both Thomas Mahoney (who will be in attendance) and director Nick Simon could not be any happier. Both of these producers made this garden city their home away from home when this movie was filming here. Mahoney is one of the many producers involved this film and both have a passion for crafting many a tale of terror. Mahoney made a very Euro-flavoured tale of terror, Anarchy Parlor (2015) and Simon with Robert “Oz” Perkins (Anthony Perkins son) on several scripts. Some were commissioned, on spec. The most notable movie is Removal (2010). Although they do not work on every movie together, they’ve broadened. Without giving away too much away about this thriller/horror movie product,...

The Girl in the Photographs was a film I was very interested in checking out and with good reason. I’ve been a fan of writer/director Nick Simon’s ever since I caught his first film Removal several years back and have been eagerly to see what his next effort would be like. I’m also – like the majority of the horror-loving world – a long-time admirer of the late, great Wes Craven. When I heard Craven was the executive producer of Mr. Simon’s sophomore film, I couldn’t wait to see what Girl would actually be like.
It’s the story of young South Dakota resident and grocery store clerk, Colleen (Claudia Lee). Colleen’s rather lackluster life is turned upside down when a mysterious photographer begins to stalk her, leaving bloody, grisly photographs for her to find, each depicting the aftermath...

Sony Pictures have announced that they have acquired the worldwide rights to Tze Chun’s Cold Comes the Night, and along with the announcement comes a very promising first trailer.
Alice Eve and Bryan Cranston look to be great in the joint leads, with Cranston taking much more of a central role than the more frequent supporting roles we’ve seen from him in recent years. And that can only be good news.

Everyone gets in over their heads, and a series of double-crosses leaves a string of dead bodies in this pulse-pounding story about desperation and survival.

There's nothing we like here at MoreHorror better than an expertly made film that really covers all the bases and writer/director Nick Simon's feature debut Removal really delivers in this regard. Filled with twists, turns, gold-star performances from an all-around amazing cast, awesome dialogue, and incredible shots, this film is easily one of the best horror films I've seen in a long while. It follows the story of Cole, a carpet cleaner who takes on a rather unusual cleaning job for a wealthy client and winds up with a lot more to contend with than he bargained for.
Writer/director Nick Simon and writer/actor Oz Perkins of Removal were both kind enough to answer some questions for me recently in regards to this very cool film. If you still haven't had a chance to check it out for yourself, catch it today On Demand or on DVD.

The start of a new year is the time when we all take a moment and reflect upon the year before. We pat ourselves on the back for our accomplishments and hope fervently for more of the same. We look at our failures and hope to God we don't pull any boners of quite the same caliber again in the year to come. And most importantly of all, we horror fans look back on the movies we've seen over the past 365 days and reflect on the ones that were especially good. The following is my personal list of highlights in horror from the past year.

Cole is a likable regular guy. Except that ever since he witnessed a gruesome murder-suicide, things haven’t been quite right. His wife left him, he is tormented by hallucinations and his career has nosedived into a blue collar job with a carpet cleaning service. Just when it seems his life has reached bottom, Cole is called out on an all-night cleaning job in an Italianate mansion far from the city. For company he has Henry, the rich, condescending homeowner who seems to take sadistic pleasure in letting Cole think he has just murdered his wife. A reddish stain on the carpet, a knife hacking into baked rabbit,...

Removal is an independent psychological horror feature from Silvatar Media, which puts one carpet cleaner on the job and in the home of a ruthless killer. Or is it all in his head? Described as a black comedy, Removal keeps you guessing by keeping the film's reality in question. Are the blood soaked carpets a figment of the viewer's or Cole's imagination or is this an elaborate set-up, to torment a man already tortured by witnessing a recent murder suicide? The answers are not clear, but horror fans can take a look at the disturbing trailer for Removal below.
The synopsis for Removal:
"Cole is a likeable regular guy. Except that ever since he witnessed a gruesome murder-suicide, things haven't been quite right. His wife left him, he is tormented by hallucinations and his career has nosedived into a blue collar job with a carpet cleaning service.

Yesterday, it was announced that TNT gave the official greenlight to three new television series, including one which will feature The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Billy Burke. The show will be entitled Rizzoli & Isles, and it will also star Angie Harmon, Sasha Alexander, The Sopranos alum Lorraine Bracco, Lee Thompson Young, and others. Burke will portray "FBI agent Gabriel Dean" in the series, and the series will follow the stories put forth by Tess Gerritsen's line of mystery novels - a detective and a medical examiner, who work together to solve crimes. This year, two of Burke's films, Shadow Play and Highland Park, will also m ...

As two of the "human" characters in the Twilight saga (appearing in all three: Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), Anna Kendrick (whose work in Up In The Air has practically made hers a household name) and Billy Burke (whose film Shadow Play is soon forthcoming) are always interesting to hear from. The two recently appeared on GMTV in these videos and are lovely as always as they talk about their position in the Twilight saga phenomenon. As you know, Kendrick portrays "Jessica Stanley" in the Twilight series, and Burke portrays "Charlie Swan" (father to Kristen Stewart's "Bella Swan")...

He might portray the lovable champ Charlie Swan in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, but his film Shadow Play looks to be featuring Billy Burke in a whole new light. The trailer for the film was only recently released (see below), and it looks great! Though, the director, Nick Simon, says it may be a bit deceiving as to what the film is really about. The trailer is a little deceiving, he says, since it makes the movie look more like an action-horror movie. It's actually more paced, he says, deliberately kind of slow. "It's something the producers put together to b ...

The Twilight cast is positively gigantic at this point. With The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse complete, the list of cast members has grown significantly. There are some who play, well, bigger roles in the film series (i.e., Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner), but even with a cast this formidable, each .... For my money Billy Burke as Bella's dad was the best thing in all of Twilight. Burke, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"'s Emma Caulfield, busty model/actress Kelly Brook (soon to be eaten alive in Piranha 3D), and film veteran Elliot Gould co-star in Shadow Play, a new thriller in the vein of Hitchcock and The Shining about a cleaning man whose sanity begins to unravel as he works to clean up a sprawling mansion.
