I've read the news, and have seen many of the media reports surrounding the Murdaugh family. You can tell from the beginning of Murdaugh Murders Podcast that Mandy Matney has thoroughly checked every source of information prior to releasing it herself. You can also feel the passion and empathy she has for the victim's in all of the cases surrounding this family. The fact is that she has followed and reported on this family before it ever made national news. When this family still held power in their state, she had the bravery & courage to go against them. This is an awesome Podcast & Mandy Matney shows true & professional reporting at its finest.

I really enjoyed listening to all MM episodes, and will continue to listen to the podcast under its new name - True Sunlight. I do struggle with host Mandy Matney's vocal fry. It sometimes takes me multiple listening sessions for a single podcast episode because the fry overwhelms the wonderful content. The hosts during this transition period between murder convictions and content that isn't Murdaugh or Murdaugh adjacent are defiant (on Twitter) about any criticism, constructive or otherwise. Eliminating vocal fry is a good thing professionally, and not an attack on an individual or journalism or activism. I hope we hear improvement.

I had to stop this so fast. I cannot get used to or even understand WHY they would think this narrator or reporter is the correct choice for a podcast host.
Monotone, vocal fry to the max and no emotion. Basically sounds like someone reading an encyclopedia and losing their place constantly but then finding it and resuming the recording.
This is a good concept with great material to make a compelling and interesting podcast but Impossible to stick with because of the delivery. I really wanted to like this and gave it a fair shot but when you cannot focus due to the delivery it is impossible to stick with it.

I think Mandy has great content and has done her homework on this fascinating, twisted case. She clearly understands how twisted southern politics can be and that is very helpful the examination of this case. However, the quality of the recordings needs serious work. I can hear a lot of punching in and out in the recordings that makes for an uneven and inauthentic speaking pace. And I'm sorry, if you know you have vocal fry, an adapted way of speaking made famous by the Kardashians, maybe it's time to unlearn it. It's annoying and gets in the way of what would otherwise be a great podcast.

Mandy Mitney sounds like a good journalist. She also reminds listeners she is, so she must be. Unfortunately, her voice isn't a podcast voice. It's monotonous, she mangles words so that many are unintelligible, and it's dreary. The recording and editing quality of the podcast is also appalling. It sounds like it was recorded in a garage, an outhouse, a kitchen, and a disused factory at various times, often in the same episode. I made it almost to the end of the second episode before I gave up. I challenge you to get further without throwing something at something.
