You don't seem the type to bother with that sort of thing

Nicely wrapped up neatly with a ribbon with all the strands coming together, yet somehow not entirely a satisfying conclusion. Beautiful as a spectacle, and good acting (especially from Lucy Boynton again) but the plot is a little ridiculous even by Christie standards.

A satisfactory end to a competent miniseries, nothing bad, nothing spectacular.

Ask Evans then
AvionPrince1626 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The final episode give the last revelations: Franque admit that the car accident was not one and was supposed to happen to the Brassington. We have also new elements about Dr Nicholson: his wife think he will kill her. They have some suspicion about Sofia and the doctor have some feeling for each other. We have a new dead man: its the husband of Sofia. And we learn a little bit more about Savage and that he has a relationship with Alan Carstairs. James and Franke will get trapped in a room where Knocker will save them. They succeed to know the name of Evans the parlourmaid and the question of Alan make sense now. Because Evan is the only person who know who sign John Savage's will was not John Savage so thats why someone need to ask Evans. Roger seem more implicated in the case. They know also that Moira is in fact Rose Templeton. This is Moira whot got the whole idea of it. It was Roger who signed the will. And for Dr Thomas it was again Moira's idea. And thats make the end of this case. Bobby and Frankie get married at the end.

So it was pretty great and the end was pretty unexpected ( i didnt read that novel from Agatha Christie's book). And it have great mysteries and the episode unravel all of it and we know everything and the case is close. I really enjoyed it. Very entertaining. I didnt regret to watch it and was a nice adptation of the novel of Agatha Christie. I was really into it: the characters, the case, the sub plot, the mysteries, the suspense moments. Really love it. I recommend it to everyone to try the show: you will find a nice whodunnit mystery with some great moments in my opinion of course.

Episode 3

Warning: Spoilers
So far both Bobby Jones and Frankie Derwent have avoided real peril.

The third episode delivers that in spades. Both of them are held captive by the mysterious bowler hat man. While what looks like Dr Nicholson appearing to be all sinister but without giving any reasons for his dastardly plans.

The reasons do arrive later as both Bobby and Frankie get to the bottom of the mystery.

In typical Agatha Christie fashion. Some of the innocent characters were far from innocent. The outright ominous ones turned out to be red herrings.

Maybe Frankie's first instincts about Roger Bassington-ffrench were correct.

It was an enthralling final episode. Plaudits to Hugh Laurie for this sensitively updated adaptation.

Episode 3 (The Grange) is shot at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. Entrance drive, Lobby, Staircase, Basement and Office all used. Not a child I sight mind.

A cracking conclusion.
Sleepin_Dragon19 April 2022
Bobby and Frankie continue to delve and investigate, they're close to learning who Evans is, but both land up in perilous danger.

This final part has it all, it's exciting, it's dramatic, and it's of course revealing. Captivating from start to finish, this final part was my favourite of the trio of episodes, I just loved the way that the jigsaw pieces all fell into place.

The acting, the acting is sublime, not a single weak link, everyone did their part, Laurie, Poulter, Boynton and of course Daniel Ings.

I love how Laurie decided do stay faithful to the original text, it's no accident that Christie's work is still loved, talked about and relevant all these years later, credit to his acting, and writing.

Great cars, amazing fashions, Boynton not only acted the part tremendously, but looked sublime in the various outfits.

More please Mr Laurie, 9/10.

Too English. No Hwyl.

I had really lost interest after the second part but watched on regardless.

The Anglo perspective of Welshness of the show had long gone.

I see this was shown in the USA first and I am sure American audiences will love the tweeness of it but I have to say, despite a big cast, this trundled on.

Lucy Boynton piqued my interest. Her dominatrix style character and Capricornian trains reminded me of the pics and clips @MissJC_22 puts on her Twitter page but that was about it.

Again 45 minutes would have been long enough.

Would have been better on radio
DoctorStrabismus14 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Despite other rave reviews, I will only give it five.

After two excellent episodes, it felt like they ran out of air time with this conclusion, and for some unfathomable reason shot a vital scene in almost total darkness. OK, it was supposed to be taking place in a dark cellar, but all we had was obscure noises for a couple of minutes. It would have been better on radio.

We were indeed kept in the dark, finding out WHY they didn't ask Evans, but precisely who "THEY" were eluded us right to the end, and most of all, we couldn't work out what the role of Carstairs was. My wife and I asked one another afterwards, and we both agreed we had no idea.

Bit of a shame.
