In the opening shot of the film, Executive Producer Allen Schatz's murder mystery novel "Game 7: Dead Ball" can be seen hidden in the stack of Meg's self help books.
Meg's swan painting story in the roadside scene was inspired by the swan paddle boats in Echo Park Lake, CA.
The opening sequence music in Meg's apartment, created by composer Edith Mudge, was inspired by cult classic film "Napoleon Dynamite", Pixar's "Monster's Inc." and HBO Max's series "White Lotus".
While the film is set in Echo Park, CA, it was shot throughout writer and star Samantha Labrecque's hometown, the San Fernando Valley.
Meg's artwork throughout the film was made by ADHD artists Jennifer Charlee and Chasity Ramsey. The colored pencil drawings in the opening of the film were made by Jennifer, inspired by moments in Meg's life. The goldfish represents Meg's childhood goldfish Goldy, who she speaks about in the roadside scene with Edie, played by Tyler Shilstone. The chameleon represents Meg's constant feeling to change who she is to blend into neurotypical environments.
