Excellent light(ning) comedy

And also so British, pulled by an awesome Peter Mullan at his best. The tale of a lonesome, but not that lonely , man who is suddenly struck by lightning and sees his life changing, especially concerning his relation with the others. Just enjoy.

Manhattan Short selection

I chuckled multiple times while watching this Scottish film short. The lead character, Don, is taciturn and reclusive, and his unintentionally rude way of responding to everyone that tries to help him is very amusing. The visuals are also great, with lots of chunky knit sweaters and stunning highland scenery. Who doesn't love a Scottish accent?

My favorite scene is Don trying to cut an onion with one hand. Such a simple concept, but it is highly entertaining.

Dramatic music adds to the overall feel of the flick.

I enjoyed watching the 2022 Manhattan short film festival at my local library and this is one of the selections.

Warning: Spoilers
Poor Don, one strike after another makes this an unbelievable story. The acting is terrific and I just wish I saw more of the rest of the story. The movie starts with a man who has difficulty walking down the road but denies he needs help from a friendly woman. He's on his way fishing and seems the lady would like to go out on the lake with him. He didn't bite! Lo and behold it doesn't take long before he sees her again but under different circumstances and he still isn't welcoming to her. She keeps trying though and in the end seems things great between them, All good things come to an end it seems.
