Fantastic

This game is a must for any fan of the Avatar movies. It is confirmed as canon as well. The world is beautiful and the interactiveness is great. The only thing this game needed was a third person mode. Had they taken a page from assassin's creed, included some parkour and climbing and melee combat in third person and this game would have been literal perfection. The story is nice, the gameplay is fun, the world is very immersive. Character creation is a bit bland and could have had more going for it. Overall it's just a really good game and stays true to the world James Cameron has created. Great title.

The Most Immersive Experience In Gaming Ever
thescudman27 December 2023
I never felt so immersed in a game like that before. The game is STUNNING! And I say this without using a VR headset, just imagine this game with VR! The game captures the essence of Pandora perfectly, and that to me is a dream came true! You feel everything, the winds, the storms, the whole environment comes to life, it interacts with you and you feel it. Where ever I turn I keep saying "Oh my God!". I've played so many open world games, including Horizon series which I love, but there is nothing like Avatar! I've been so ready for this game before it was released, as usual I made sure I don't know anything. I only knew it was developed by Massive Entertainment and that was enough. And what a surprise it was! It's everything I wanted in gaming.

I loved the story, and it dose feel like an extension of the Avatar universe. Avatar original story is already amazing. More than the story I really wanted to experience the world of Pandora and to be part of it. And they delivered. You'll enjoy it especially if you're an Avatar fan, and if you're not you'll probably become one. The values, the emotional aspects of the story, the bond with Ikran, the care for the environment, all came from the original Avatar story.

There is still plenty of content to explore and enjoy. It gave me the best moments in gaming of all time. Combat can be intense and challenging sometimes especially if you are not used to first person shooting games, but you'll feel a great sense of accomplishment when you win. The music is AMAZING! It's magical! Spiritual! It keeps changing according to your experience while playing and exploring. This game keeps rewarding you, you feel so immersed that time flies and you never get tired of exploring and completing varieties of different types of quests and missions. There is a lot of attention to details. For example, collecting fruit, the condition and rarity will depend on things like location, timing, night or day, dry or wet, the way you remove it, etc... Also it's so much fun jumping on big mushrooms to jump very high onto tall trees, collecting fruit. Using giant leaves to pad the fall just like in the Avatar movie.

I played it on Playstation 5, I never came across any bug or glitch in this game, no issues at all. It's great that Ubisoft made this game available for all platforms from day one. It's ready to play without major issues as far as I know. Ubisoft announced that they're releasing two DLCs in 2024, so get ready for more content and a new region to be discovered as an addition to an already massive world! I'm glad that they took the best out of Far Cry and created something unique, a MASTERPIECE. I can't wait for additional features, expansions and updates, I'll keep playing and visiting Pandora. This game is for the long journey, a memorable, beautiful journey. I usually take time before I call a game the best game of all time, but for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora I'm gonna say it now. It's my best game of all time.

Thanks to Massive Entertainment for developing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and thanks to Ubisoft.

Ubisoft chore simulator: Avatar re-skin

There is so much to say about this title.

And nothing is good.

Let's start with the clipping, yes this is so bad you will yearn for a Bethesda game on launch, and the worst, sometimes after you clipped through terrain, you are stuck behind / under it.

The world is in standard ubisoft fashion, oversized and empty feeling. I would have much prefered half the map size with about 100 times more open world interactions, as it is the world feels sad and dead. A procedural generated landscape with nothing to do in it.

The Story , well it is there , but so gear level gated it makes no fun to play through it and it is incredible bland and has pretty much neither memorable moments nor memorable characters, everything feels predictable and somewhat boring.

Why you would gear level lock progression in a single player game - and in typical ubisoft fashion enemies of 1 level higher than you feel like they are five times your strength - so you are forced to grind the gear stuff for hours to level it up and be able to progress in the main story. If only there was a way around that - ah, yes the in game store where you can spend your real money on things that help you level up your gear faster , and would anyone actually be surprised if a few months after game launch they will (once again) sell you time savers directly ? - One might actually think the whole grind system in the ubisoft titles is just, so they can sell the "boosters". And of course one would be right. This is a 14-hour story game that has been stretched to at least 40 by grindy progression locks. That might be ok in a MMO or a Gatcha game , it really feels exceptionally bad in your RPG single player game.

Overall it is a forgettable standard ubisoft game that feels like a mix between Far Cry: Primal, The Division and Far Cry 6.

Unlike The Division and Far Cry 6 however, the story is bland , boring and unremarkable in every way, which makes playing this feel less fun than any of those games.

I wouldn't even advise anyone to buy this when it is half price in a few months, let alone for the full launch price, it is just not worth it.
