It is absolutely ridiculous what it took to remove the Confederate flag flying atop the South Carolina State House. Elected officials had to daily deal with the flag as a proud reminder there were once laws enforcing and regulating enslavement. It is all beyond the pale.
There was a brief discussion in the documentary about Stone Mountain and I can't get over it's depiction of Confederate leaders who fought and killed for their perceived right to own people. Their images are etched into a public mountain on taxpayer owned land, and it is the year 2021. Take a pick axe to it for everything that is good and fair and right.
