The Berserk manga is a cult classic among comic aficionados and fans of the dark fantasy genre, and the 1997 anime adaptation of the Golden Age arc of the same name is often included in lists of the best anime of all time.
Despite the fact that there have been two anime adaptations of the manga specifically dedicated to the Golden Age, the entire arc has never been filmed. The first adaptation by Oriental Light and Magic Studio was released in 1997, right after the manga's Eclipse chapter, the climax of the Golden Age, was completed.
For its time, the anime looked strikingly beautiful, with detailed character faces, breathtaking landscapes, high-quality animation, and a great soundtrack by Susumu Hirasawa, whose name is already inseparable from Berserk.
1997’s Berserk Never Had a Proper Ending
In fact, the only drawback of the 1997 anime can only be the fact that a sequel was not originally planned.

Best known for playing Alice Cullen in the film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight novels, Ashley Greene’s casting was met with controversy among fans as she is 7 inches (18 cm) taller than her character, as described in the novel.

Response to Fan Expectations
In an interview with MTV in March 2008, Ashley addressed the criticism. “Uh, that’s the biggest complaint about me actually; I’m 5-foot-5. I’m much, much taller than Alice is described, but who is 4-foot-10 anyways?”
“Well, when I read the book, I could see that, and she’s the actress that Stephenie put on her site and said, ‘This is what I think she looks like in my head,’ so that’s natural that everyone else would have...

The recent solar eclipse that captivated the protected eyes of Americans also made an impact on our ears. The event helped send Soundgarden’s classic 1994 hit “Black Hole Sun” to the top of Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.
The tune’s title and lyrics paired nicely with the natural phenomenon, leading the song to draw 4.2 million official streams earned (up 34%) and 2.5 million in radio airplay audience (up 19%), as well as sell 1,000 downloads (up 166%) in the United States during the week of April 5th-11th.
According to Billboard, “Black Hole Sun” is the first Soundgarden song to top Hot Hard Rock Songs tally, although that particular chart has only been around since 2020. The song also made an impact on the Hot Rock Songs, Hot Alternative Songs, and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs charts, landing in the teens on all three.

It turns out Jimmy Fallon wasn’t the only late-night host who took to the roof to watch the solar eclipse earlier this week.
In a new behind the scenes clip posted to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s Instagram account, Colbert and team are seen taking in the eclipse from the rooftop of the Ed Sullivan Theatre building, and on the street outside their studio doors.
Colbert is seen remarking on the crescent shaped shadows cast by the eclipse, while his dog Benny chews on a pair of solar glasses. As Colbert explained in his monologue Monday, the show changed its schedule so that the staff could bear withness to the once-in-forty years event.

Heroes creator Tim Kring is rebooting the sci-fi drama series into a new show titled Heroes: Eclipse
Save the cheerleader. Save the world. Heroes creator Tim Kring made the mission sound so easy in 2006, but as we all know, things are more complex when people with supernatural abilities start running amok. Thankfully, we’re getting another chance at winning the day because Tim Kring is rebooting Heroes for a second encore with Heroes: Eclipse.
According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, “Heroes: Eclipsed is set years after the events of the original series as new evos are being awakened and discovering powers that will change their lives. Featuring familiar villains and new enemies who once again will be attempting to suppress this next step in human evolution, it will be up to this new group of heroes to save the world.”
Heroes: Eclipse sounds an awful lot like Heroes Reborn, Kring’s 2015 limited series set years after the events of the original. Like Heroes Reborn, Heroes: Eclipse introduces...

Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster Twilight franchise is heading to the small screen, and here are the details.
There was a time in the early 2010s when Twilight was just about the biggest film franchise around.
It comprises five films – 2008’s Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, 2009’s New Moon, directed by Chris Weitz, 2010’s Eclipse, directed by David Slade, and the two part finale Breaking Dawn, directed by Bill Condon and released in 2011 and 2012. Their success was such that two parody films were also released in quick succession, the much maligned Vampire’s Suck and Breaking Wind.
The films followed Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan as she becomes romantically involved with vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, and werewolf Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner. Which all leads to a battle with vampire coven The Volturi.
Adapted by future Jessica Jones creator Melissa Rosenberg, the large ensemble cast also included Billy Burke,...

"I've never given much thought to how I would die, but dying in the place of someone I love seems like a good way to go." Now that's how you start a franchise!
Since 2008, the "Twilight" films have been a cultural mainstay for better and for worse. A film so beloved that cosmetics companies are selling out of "Twilight"-inspired collections in under 10 minutes 15 years later, and so hated that it inspired the $20 million studio-produced parody film "Vampires Suck." Few multi-billion dollar franchises are quite this polarizing, and even fewer have had as powerful of a cultural reclamation years later. Love them or hate them, the "Twilight" films are one of the most important products of the late 2000s and 2010s, and no amount of whining about vampires sparkling or commenting "still a better love story than 'Twilight'" is going to change that.
There has been talk that...

This post contains spoilers for the "Twilight" movies.
"Twilight" is a global phenomenon that warrants no introduction. Whether you love the five-part saga or love to dunk on it, the "Twilight" movies will be forever etched into public consciousness, as its complicated legacy within the context of young-adult fantasy simply cannot be ignored. In hindsight, "Twilight" gifted us with two astoundingly talented and diverse actors — Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who play Bella Swan and Edward Cullen respectively, and have cemented themselves as performers capable of introducing significant depth to their roles over the years.
The core premise of the "Twilight" movies is pretty simple. An awkward, reserved teenager, Bella, finds herself jammed in an uncharacteristic love triangle, her suitors being a 107-year vampire and a shape-shifting werewolf. Grander stakes are introduced eventually in the form of century-spanning vampire-werewolf rivalry, a rogue, vicious group of vampire newborns who want to watch the world burn,...

In all of Stephen King’s massive catalog, few works are as bleak as his 2010 novella collection Full Dark, No Stars. Rather than supernatural entities, these four dark tales feature human monsters and deal with the horrors that live inside the human heart. Two novellas serve as mirror images of each other, exploring the female response to predatory men. “Big Driver” follows cozy mystery writer Tess Thorne on a mission of revenge against the stranger who raped her and left her for dead. “A Good Marriage” centers Darcy Anderson, a happily married woman faced with a horrifying choice when she discovers her husband’s secret life.
Both novellas were faithfully adapted into feature films in the year 2014 – for better or worse. Premiering on Lifetime, Big Driver tackles King’s rape-revenge story with Maria Bello staring as the vigilante writer and Olympia Dukakis as her literary detective. Ann Dowd and Joan Jett...

Explore a whole new realm in this entrancing music video from an artist known as "The Insaneum" or just simply Yosh. Pink Floyd is currently hosting a special contest to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their iconic album Dark Side of the Moon. Yosh Bauer, a German artist / filmmaker / animator, took a piece of the song "Eclipse" and created this Mucha-inspired, mesmerizing two-min sequence involving a spaceship & space traveler. It's a fascinating look at just how much can be imagined when you dive deep into animation and let the colors and designs and lines all interact and flow and combine. It's a personal project for Yosh, made entirely on his own in his spare time for this competition. There are many other entries (see here) but this one stands out and it's being featured by many sites. I'd watch a whole series based on this story and this character in this video.

There is no shortage of stories about the inception of rock anthem “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” and Meat Loaf’s reported aggravation that the song penned by Jim Steinman was given to Bonnie Tyler instead of him. Now, Tyler has shared more details about the recording of the song and making of the music video.
In an interview with The Guardian, Tyler reveals the origins of the power ballad. “[Jim] told me he had started writing the song for a prospective musical version of Nosferatu years before, but never finished it,...

It's been 15 years to the week since "Twilight" hit theaters and the world has never been the same. But how to best commemorate this momentous occasion? Tragically, a real-life game of vampire baseball is not on the menu. So how about instead watching "The Twilight Saga" at home and experiencing all its swooning supernatural, frequently campy, and often problematic yet always amusing romance in high-definition with a bevy of fresh behind-the-scenes features on the side?
That's right, /Film has joined forces with Lionsgate to give away copies of "The Twilight Saga" 15th Anniversary SteelBook Collection 4K Ultra HD to our readers. Oh sure, you could always just catch the movies on digital, but why risk some greedy studio swooping in like the Volturi and snatching it away when physical copies are forever ... just like Bella and Edward's love?
With your hard copy eternally by your side, you can revisit everything...

“We’re so f–ked. How are we gonna do that?” Veteran TV director Jeremy Podeswa said was the first reaction he and a colleague shared after seeing an early cut of Martin Scorsese’s Boardwalk Empire pilot for HBO.
“It was huge, very expensive, and took a long time to make. It took 33 days to shoot and 35 million dollars, which is a lot now, but then, it was even more.”
Podeswa recounted the story during a career masterclass at Greece’s Thessaloniki International Film Festival, telling the packed audience that he had been summoned to Scorsese’s personal screening room to view the episode because he’d been hired to direct a follow-up episode for the network.
“To give you a comparison, 33 days and 35 million dollars, and then I was coming to do an episode in 10 days with 10 million dollars, which also sounds like a lot of money, but it’s not 35 million,...

Pink Floyd have released a remaster of their magnum opus The Dark Side of the Moon, out now via Pink Floyd/Warner Music.
The polished-up edition of the album was originally released back in March with The Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary Box Set, but this is the first time that the standalone Dark Side remaster is available on its own. Pressed on vinyl, CD, and Blu-ray formats, the physical package comes equipped with postcards, stickers, and a 24-page booklet commemorating the record, which Consequence recently crowned one of the greatest albums of all time.
Notably, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side remaster arrives just a week after embattled ex-member Roger Waters shared The Dark Side of the Moon Redux, a track-by-track re-recording of the album on his own terms. He teased it with some — ahem — interesting versions of “Time” and “Money.”

Controversial artist Roger Waters is back with a controversial new release: a re-recording of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon, made without the involvement of any of the other members of Pink Floyd. Listen to The Dark Side of the Moon Redux below via Apple Music or Spotify.
Beyond giving Waters the opportunity to one-up his estranged bandmates, re-recording one of the most famous albums of all time appeared to give the artist a chance to update its message for modern times, with a matured perspective. “The original Dark Side of the Moon feels in some ways like the lament of an elder being on the human condition,” Waters said in a statement. “But Dave [Gilmour], Rick [Wright], Nick [Mason], and I were so young when we made it, and when you look at the world around us, clearly the message hasn’t stuck. Johnny Jewel’s latest project is the soundtrack to the Dutch drama film Holly. Before the full Ost is out October 13th via his label Italians Do It Better, he’s shared a preview of it with the lead single “The Witch.” He’s also announced a run of European tour dates, during which he’ll play sets comprising music from his prolific film score discography.
Directed and written by Fien Troch, Holly centers around a 15-year-old girl whose school is largely destroyed by a fire one day after she calls out of class. As her community grieves, they begin to see some unspoken quality in Holly that makes her an unlikely source of support, though perhaps at the sacrifice of her own wellbeing.

Welcome to Sales to Astonish, a new column in association with comics retailer The Unreality Store, in which Matthew De Monti brings us news on comic sales and the general moves in the comic market over the past month or so!
Summer is always an odd time to sell comics, graphic novels, Roleplaying games and books – forms of entertainment that would traditionally be better suited to rainy days or deepest darkest winter.
The pattern that was established as far back as the end of June where Thursday is by the busiest day of the week by a country mile due to new products being launched in-store and the remainder of the week (especially Friday-Sunday) is very quiet showed no signs of changing at the beginning of August The first Thursday launch of August saw more 90’s Batman comics sell really well along with variant covers and Fantasy Advertiser and Comics Feature magazines.

Ah, The Twilight Saga. What a moment in time. From the release of the first installment in 2008 to the conclusion in 2012, it was an era in which online randos believed the epitome of comedy was responding to the announcement of a new piece of vampire media with, "So long as the vampires don't sparkle, I'm in!" All the while, the movie adaptations of Stephenie Meyer's uber-popular supernatural teen romance novels continued to rake in enough money to fill several dump trucks with each passing year, no matter how much their detractors roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws.
As Twilighters await the arrival of the already-doomed-to-fail TV revival of the franchise, what better way to pass the time than by revisiting the original "Twilight" movie and its sequels on home media? Timed to coincide with the 15th...

While 1987’s Werewolf beat it to the punch by a few years, She-Wolf of London is still an important pioneer in lycan storytelling on television. This 1990 series was also ahead of the pack of other supernatural dramas that blended horror, humor, and romance. Created by Universal Television and McA Television Entertainment as part of the original syndicated programming for Hollywood Premiere Network — the only other original shows produced were Shades of L.A. and They Came From Outer Space — She-Wolf of London was an experiment from start to finish. Rather than being a remake of the classic 1946 film, this new take aimed to be totally different. And indeed it was, although not everyone was receptive to the final product.
In its review, The Los Angeles Times called She-Wolf of London “too plodding and sexless” for either kids or adults. The show was made for cable, so naturally there were certain expectations.

Roger Waters, would rather re-record old Pink Floyd music than reunite with the band’s surviving members for a new tour. As such, on October 6th he’ll release his solo re-recording of the band’s seminal 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon. Today, he’s previewing (Roger’s Version) with the album’s lead single, his version of “Money.”
Waters produced the LP, titled The Dark Side of the Moon Redux along with Gus Seyffert, and recorded the tracks with a studio band comprising Seyffert, Joey Waronker, Jonathan Wilson, Johnny Shepherd, and Jon Carin. Notably, the other members of Pink Floyd who helped to create the original, including David Gilmour and Nick Mason, do not appear on the recordings.

Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon is one of the most legendary rock albums from the 1970s. It’s achieved an almost mystifying status as its otherworldly music transfixed audiences. The album doesn’t include collaborations with other artists. There was nearly a voice cameo from former Beatle Paul McCartney, but Pink Floyd left it off the record.

The "Run the World" Cast Tease the Girls "All Take Risks" in Season 2: "Jumping Off Cliffs Together"
It's hard to believe it's been two years since Starz's "Run the World" first hit our TV screens - even the cast are surprised when they think about the show's long hiatus. But the good news is the Harlem-set dramedy is finally back for season two, which kicked off on May 26, and 30-something-year-old besties Whitney (Amber Stevens West), Renee (Bresha Webb), and Sondi (Corbin Reid) are ready to get back into the swing of things. Of course, the half-hour series returns for much more drama, sisterhood, and romance following season one's wild finale, but that's not all viewers can look forward to.
"We just leaned in harder because we became even closer friends during the break in between, so it was easy to dive right back in."
"There's some fun stuff that happens this season," Stevens West teases to Popsugar. "There are the big things that are fun this...

Los Angeles, May 20 (Ians) Actor Taylor Lautner found fame when he took on the role of Jacob in ‘Twilight’ film franchise and reflected that, while he was always “incredibly thankful” for the opportunities, he often found himself wishing that he could have some “normalcy” in his teenage years.
“Now, I only have fond memories. But I do think that also needed the space because – I was always incredibly thankful, and feel super blessed for what it brought me. But maybe there was a little bit of like resentment deep in there going like, ‘I wish I could have just experienced this part of normalcy,” he said on the ‘The Happy Hour’ radio show, reports aceshowbiz.com.
However, the ‘Home Team’ star did go on to acknowledge that he “wouldn’t change” his early success but needed to have the “growth” to be able to appreciate it.
He added: “Now, I wouldn’t change it.

Well, Twilight fans: looks like the wolf's out of the bag. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a TV adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's bestselling book series is currently in the works at Lionsgate Television, per sources.
The series is reportedly in early development with very few confirmed details, including a network/platform or a writer, but insiders told THR that Meyer is expected to be involved. Wyck Godfrey and former Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Copresident Erik Feig are also said to be attached to executive produce the television project. Reps for Lionsgate did not immediately respond to Popsugar's request for comment.

A “Twilight” TV series adaptation is in very early development at Lionsgate TV, Variety has confirmed with sources.
The series would be based on the Stephanie Meyers book series of the same name, which was previously adapted into a film franchise. At this time, there is no writer or a network/streaming service attached to the project.
According to sources, Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feig are attached as executive producers. Feig is the former co-president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, while Godfrey and his Temple Hill production company produced the five “Twilight” films. Meyers is also expected to be involved in any potential series.

The MTV Movie and TV Awards are driven by fans, so they’re more welcoming to popular sequels than, say, the Oscars usually are. To date, three film franchises have won the Golden Popcorn for Best Movie multiple times. This year there could be a fourth if “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” or “Scream VI” prevails.
The first franchise to win the top prize multiple times was “The Lord of the Rings.” In fact, all three films in the trilogy won Best Movie: “The Fellowship of the Ring” in 2002, “The Two Towers” in 2003, and “The Return of the King” (the one that won the Oscar) in 2004.
Even more popular was “Twilight,” which won Best Movie for four out of its five entries: the original in 2009, “New Moon” in 2010, “Eclipse” in 2011, and “Breaking Dawn Part 1” in 2012. “Breaking Dawn Part 2” wasn’t even nominated for Best Movie; MTV might have wanted to avoid...

Jeremy Podeswa will direct the pilot episode and serve as producing director and executive producer on Prime Video’s “Blade Runner 2099”
The live-action limited series, which will premiere exclusively on Amazon’s streaming service in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, comes from Alcon Entertainment and Scott Free Productions.

The Twilight films saw Taylor Lautner frequently going shirtless for several scenes. But it wasn’t a reputation he wanted to carry on to other movies if it wasn’t required.

It required a lot of effort on Lautner’s part to obtain the kind of physique that he had in the Twilight films. This included sometimes following a careful and heavy diet while spending several hours in the gym. On the podcast The Squeeze (via Yahoo), Lautner explained that he jumped from 140 to 175 between the first Twilight and its sequel. The 35-pound difference demonstrated the massive results of his training regimen.
But reflecting on his training, he discovered that maintaining the physique had an unexpected side-effect on his mental health.

The Beatles and Pink Floyd were two of the world’s biggest bands in the 1960s and 1970s. And they hardly crossed paths while both bands were active, even though Floyd recorded their debut next door to The Beatles. Pink Floyd cut Paul McCartney’s contribution to their legendary 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon, but The Beatles’ music made a surprise and nearly-hidden cameo on the record.

The Dark Side of the Moon features several voice cameos. Pink Floyd asked various Abbey Road Studios employees and others to answer questions and included their responses on the album.
But not Paul’s.

"Invincible," the animated series based on the hit comic book series by "The Walking Dead" co-creator Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, was a major success for Prime Video. But what to read between seasons if you can't get enough of bombastic teenaged superheroics? Well, there are at least 14 different comic books that should scratch that itch, including both series that influenced "Invincible" as well as stories that have something to say about the world of superheroes — and the one we live in.
Of course, it goes without saying that one of the titles that should be on your reading list is "Invincible" itself. The series wrapped up in 2018, so it's a complete saga — just be aware that you'll be spoiling the rest of the animated series for yourself! That's hardly a problem, though; this is a story that's worth experiencing twice.

Twilight has done wonders for the careers of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. It turned both actors into huge A-Listers, and gave Pattinson the boost in his career he was looking for. But Kendrick didn’t experience similar benefits during her time in the franchise.
“I’ve never gotten a job because of Twilight. The thing with that is, the Twilight fans are so kind. I know people kind of make fun of them but they are really kind people – that’s been the best thing about that, but I have never got a job because of that film,” she...

Kendrick played Jessica Stanley in the mega-popular Twilight films. Jessica was one of main character Bella’s (played by Kristen Stewart) high school friends and appeared in New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn — Part 1.
In Eclipse, Kendrick delivers a standard valedictorian speech, discussing growing up and figuring out who the students want to be when they grow up. The actor stayed on script while filming the scene but recently revealed the producers wanted her to do something a little different.
Just wanted to wish Anna Kendrick a happy birthday before it hits #Twilight.
