Duck Dynasty is back with a movie, The Blind, telling of family patriarch Phil Robertson’s (played by Aaron von Andrian) younger years living in Louisiana during the 1960s. The film, which opens in select movie theaters on September 28, is an honest depiction as it touches on the Duck Commander creator’s past struggles with alcoholism and the toll his infidelity took on his marriage with Kay (played by Amelia Eve) before he turned everything around. “Long before Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson became a reality TV star, he fell in love with Miss Kay and started a family, but his demons threatened to tear their lives apart,” the official synopsis reads. “Set in the backwoods swamps of 1960s Louisiana, The Blind shares never-before-revealed moments in Phil’s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place. It’s been 10 seasons and in its prime Duck Dynasty was one of the most watched shows on television. Following the life of the Robertsons and their family business “Duck Commander,” the show has broken several ratings records on A&E and cable television as a whole. The fourth-season premiere drew 11.8 million viewers; the most-watched nonfiction cable series in history. In mid-December 2013, controversy from an interview Phil Robertson gave to GQ magazine resulted in an indefinite suspension by A&E, due to remarks he made which were being widely reported in the media as “anti-gay”. Duck Commander in Chief Willie Robertson spoke at the Republican National Convention in July and has been a Trump supporter from early on. When it comes to presidential candidates, Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson has decided Ted Cruz "fits the bill."
After the Texas senator joined Robertson on a duck hunt Monday, the "Duck Commander" announced via a video ad that he is endorsing Cruz for president.
"My qualifications for president of the United States are rather narrow: Is he or she godly, does he or she love us, can he or she do the job, and finally would they kill a duck and put him in a pot and make him a good duck gumbo?" Robertson says in the campaign ad released on Wednesday.

Duck Dynasty: The Musical is officially theater-bound! Considering Broadway is pretty gay -- or at least, gay-friendly -- and considering what duck patriarch Phil Robertson has said in the past about homosexuality leading to bestiality, it may seem like an odd fit.
Until you find out it’s actually a Vegas musical. That makes more sense.
The Duck Commander Musical is a “modern-day Beverly Hillbillies story” about a “backwoods family” that strikes it rich. Don’t expect a satire or tell-all either, the Roberston family had script and casting approval.

Because, clearly, what the world needed was more Duck Dynasty and what Duck Dynasty needed was more show-stopping musical numbers, a Duck Dynasty musical is in the works. The New York Times reports that a 90-minute show titled The Duck Commander Family Musical with actors in the roles of the Robertson family has plans to open in Las Vegas. Though it sounds like a cross between Waiting for Guffman's Red, White and Blaine and, as Frank Rich pointed out on Twitter, something out of a Mel Brooks movie, the show actually has some Broadway pedigree, with Jersey Boys producer Michael David developing it.

A Broadway-style musical about the family on Duck Dynasty sounds like an SNL skit, but according to the New York Times, it's actually happening. In The Duck Commander Family Musical, actors will portray the family's rags-to-riches tale, as described in the 2012 book by Willie and Korie Robertson. The show is set to open in February at Las Vegas's Rio hotel and casino, so the whole thing makes a bit more sense. However, many on Broadway are not happy that one of their own — Michael David, the producer behind Jersey Boys — is working with a guy who A&E briefly suspended last year for comparing homosexuality to bestiality.David said he was offended by patriarch Phil Robertson's remarks, but he was already involved in the project at the time. Welcome to Season 5 of "Duck Dynasty," Robertson family fans. While the men from Louisiana have been in the news a lot over the last two months, there hasn't been a new episode of "Duck Dynasty" since Halloween, besides the Christmas special.
We're sure you've caught up on any episodes you missed since then, however, with the near constant marathons. And, in case you were wondering, Phil Robertson's much-publicized suspension and subsequent reinstatement by A+E didn't result in any "Phil-free" episodes since the show was on hiatus from filming during those issues.
So, on with the reality television show, as they say.
In tonight's kick-off, we get a double shot of "Duck" -- back-to-back new episodes, starting with "Boomerang Becca."
We meet Rebecca Robertson, adopted honorary daughter of Willie and Korie Robertson. She's been in off interning in L.A. for two years, and she's back in the other La: Louisiana.

Duck dynasty is a reality series on A&E. It is a show that features a family-business in Louisiana. Willie Robertson runs a multimillion dollar business that commenced its operations when his father, Phil Robertson invented a special type of duck caller that took the duck hunting sport into higher levels. Several family members assist Willie in running the business. Willie is portrayed as having a lot of challenges in running the business and despite those challenges, he is always advised to put his family before the business since staying true to his family is more important.
This show explores the tribulations and trials of running a family business against cultural heritage and lifestyle. It challenges traditional ideas about what a multimillion dollar firm is. It also highlights the common belief that owning a successful business or being wealthy should not change how a person lives.
