Well, this has to be one of the best episodes of the entire anime, mainly because it focuses on Team Rocket and what their motives are. This episode features them meeting up with a ramen shop owner named Christopher who turns out to be an old friend of theirs from the early days of Team Rocket! It reveals that he quit Team Rocket and is now a successful noodle shop owner. This really does make one wonder why Team Rocket are still in, well Team Rocket. They actually do split up in this episode. Apparently I've been spelling Jessilina's name wrong. Is that Goku's voice actor as him?
Meowth realizes that he works much better cutting up noodles in Christopher's shop. It's even named after Jessie and James! I guess there weren't many Rocketshipping moments in this. It just doesn't have the steam the earlier episodes had. James tries to get Jessie and Meowth back to Team Rocket by catching a rare Metagross for their boss. Jessie and Meowth overhear people saying how James is going to get hurt going there, so they help him. These really are some heartwarming moments.
Now I thought Team Rocket had reached the point where all of their robots were electricity proof. It makes no sense they'd make the same mistakes but they do admit how bad they were later. It's another episode that shows us why these lovable characters stay together and it's of course out of the strange devotion they have even though they're thieves. This was probably a landmark episode because it address what seemed obvious to a lot of viewers. Ash, Brock, and Dawn are pretty casual about Team Rocket appearing. We're all too used to them by now. ****
