Reaching Out

Since this episode's topic was about fathers, it would've been the perfect opportunity to learn more about Warden Wrath's relationship with his son Braxas. We could've also learned what happened to Warden Wrath's wife. Maybe she died from an unknown illness like Luz's late father Manny. It would've further fleshed out Warden Wrath's attempt with trying to ask Eda out on a date in the series premiere. Warden Wrath is one of the most interesting Owl House side characters, in my opinion. I honestly thought Warden Wrath was going to play a major role in this episode because the trailers advertised him prominently. They made it look like he was going to play a major role in this episode, but he didn't, unfortunately.

This episode had everything and everyone, and it balanced it so well. So many characters had developed in this episode. We find out more things about the characters, and the emotions in this one hit hard. All while having a fun plotline filled with action. Not to mention the animation and music, that were as great as always. This is one of the best episodes in the entire show so far. And that's saying a lot coming from this show.

I don't want to spoil anything, so i'll keep it short. Something the owl house has done really well this season is developing its characters in a natural manner while also developing the plot. It also avoids unnecessary drama, promoting healthy communication with its relationships, and the effects of not having it. And this episode has it all. Great action, animation, voice acting performances, plot resolution, emotional bits, and the slightest bit of lore at the end. Can't wait for the rest of this season.
