I love the show and the concept for everything in it, but the throwing of the ingredients off of the plates or not eating how they make it is so disrespectful. If the host wants to eat the meal differently that's fine but do it off the camera. But the host is at these places for the chef's food and won't even eat it as they make it.

The food and restaurants in this show are amazing, I'm so sorry they had to deal with this annoying host.
The slow motion shots of the host eating, and then with food all in his beard are making this show hard to watch. What kind of food host refuses to eat the food served? He won't eat tomato or several other items he is served. I don't like this guy at all. I saw an extreme close up of this man's tongue, I could have went my whole life without seeing that. The host is super annoying and rude.

Daym Drops is a big dude and a big personality. The businesses he chooses to highlight look great. However I can do without the slow motion, pornographic shots of Drops shoveling food into his gaping maw. It's a bit much.
Fresh, Fried and Crispy is a bright vibrant show , that that has a similar format to Food networks Man vs Chef. The host visits different restaurants tasting their fried speciality , while giving his verdict. I enjoy watching it while eating.
The food is the kind of indulgent, greasy, yet delicious food you'd expect from this kind of program. Unfortunately the food takes a backseat to the obnoxious host. While Guy Fieri has a large personality, he describes the flavour and texture of the foods he eats.
The host of this show has an over-the-top, long, and unfunny reaction to every food presented to him, while providing very little description of the food. The only insight he seems so give is that deep fried food is crispy (which I don't think anyone needs to be told this information).
Instead of a host with insight, it seems they chose a host hoping to get meme reactions from him.
There's enough of these kind of shows available with better hosts, so this one is worth skipping.

My man delivered exactly what he promised. The show focuses on the food while also giving Daym his time to shine. People keep saying the interviews are awkward, when in reality there was only two interviews which felt a bit odd. Daym's energy is just way too good and keeps you engaged throughout each episode. His little jokes and personality never gets stale. Can't wait for season 2!

Basically Netflix took a YouTube "food critic" and gave him his show. Why is he always eating in slow-mo? No one wants to see that. Plus, what are these catchphrases? This was a waste of money. Pass on this, there are better food shows.

I love a good food show and this certainly rings the bell. Didn't know who Daym Drops was before this but I do now. He and his personality are truly larger than life.
Most of the dishes are tried and true but many have a new spin on them.
Two recommendations for Season 2: Make them longer and include a few more vegetables... yes most are tasty Fresh Fried and Crispy.

It's almost the same every episode, the host eats some fried stuff and likes it. But he is funny and has a distinctive way of describing food and flavors wich makes it fun to watch. If you're into food give it a try!

I genuinely believe this show is top-notch, and I can't help but feel that some critics are being overly harsh on the host. Personally, I find the host's personality, charisma and humor to be a big part of what makes the show so enjoyable. Not only is the content entertaining, but the production quality is also fantastic! The filming and editing are on point, adding to the overall appeal of the show. It's a refreshing break from the typical food show, and I wish there were more seasons, because I've enjoyed every episode. Kudos to the team behind the scenes for delivering a standout viewing experience!

The only reason why I decided to keep on watching the show is because of the great food. Those chefs don't deserve to be disrespected by a food critic whose taste palette is only limited to cheap fast food.
Nothing funny about throwing out food, deconstructing burgers, and taking out the greens and tomatoes.

I just want to say...this comment section is very much so giving dry chicken, no seasoning, raisins in potato salad energy...
Daym is a food critic for "the people." When he's breaking down the food to you, it's like listening to a best friend. If you're looking for some snooty, over critical, bland food critic, he's simply not the one for you...nor is his show. The places he goes to are FUN and so are the dishes the chefs presents. He HATES tomatoes and lettuce and makes it sorta known, but sometimes he gives in and eats them if present. I think it's actually somewhat refreshing to hear a food critic being real about what they won't eat. I see some comments complaining about him throwing food. When he throws the ingredients off the plate that he doesn't want to eat OBVIOUSLY it's for theatrics lol, & the chefs aren't bothered by it.
The same people who are whining about how "rude" he is are the same who cheer for Chef Ramsey.
Daym has a lot of personality, which you can tell for the most part the chefs for sure appreciates it. His talking points regarding the food is gritty and relatable for common folk. All of the dishes he try are fried, or has some fried component to it. Which sorta limits his criticism. The visuals are pretty on point. I love the scenes where they show the foods frying in the deep fryers. I also love seeing Dayms animated reactions to the food. His reactions aren't really ever the same and are genuine.
Again the show is just purely fun and the food looks YUMMY! If you're looking for a food critic to throughly breakdown a plate of free range lettuce...LOL don't bother wasting your time to watch. Cause you for sure won't get that with "Fresh Fried & Crispy."
Keep doing your thing Daym !

This could be a great show, however, not sure if the host (Daym) is acting that he knows nothing of food or if it is an act. Concept 10/10 . Execution 2/10.

I enjoy the concept of exploring fried food. But Daym is a bit of a turnoff. He should let the chefs and their food be the star. He does that to a degree, then pulls the spotlight squarely back onto himself. Ugh. I suspect this is part of his YouTube origin, but it doesn't work for hosted TV.
I don't even mind that he's not 100% a fan of everything. But, for example, taking lettuce and heirloom tomato off a sandwich a chef just gave you and throwing it onto the floor? Totally disrespectful, and in no way clever.
5 stars--for the food and the chefs; they are pretty great.
If this gets a 2nd season, maybe Daym can dial it back.

Experts and enthusiasts will not enjoy this show like I did.
It's been a long time since I've watched something that made me wanna eat EVERY SINGLE THING!
The host is not a food critic, he is quite the opposite... There are a few episodes where he actually changes chefs recipes in front of them (yes, I was also in shock) simply because he would not like some of the ingredients. CULINARY EXPERTS OR ENTHUSIASTS WILL GO ABSOLUTELY ANGRY ABOUT THIS... but truth be told, that's what normal people do in real life. If we do not like an ingredient, we don't eat it.
Do not expect history, background or explained details about dishes either... The show actually focus on promoting how delicious the food is and how much fun the host gets by eating it. I loved it!
The show made me wanna travel just to taste everything I saw.
I also enjoy the thecnical snob culinary shows on Netflix, but this one is not it and it won't please everyone...
Just watch it, have fun and get hungry!!

This has been one of the most annoying food shows I've seen in previous years. Daym doesn't have any culinary experience and his interviews with owners and chefs reflect that. The interviews are so cringe.
His food analysis is so bland and doesn't do the food he reviews justice. All he really has going for him is his wacky expressions. The saving grace for this show we're the restaurants, the food looks delicious.
Keep the show, ditch the host.

I see that some reviewers are criticizing the fact that the host does not have any culinary expertise. I think that's part of what adds to the enjoyment of this show. It's just a guy trying out some delicious meals and enjoying every moment of it. I find that relatable. I personally don't really care for food shows where the hosts are overly critical while eating food that someone like myself, who grew up on spaghetti and instant ramen, would kill to be able to eat. You don't have to be a food expert to know if something tastes good or not.
I also like the format of this show. The host visits three different restaurants in a particular city, and then he chooses which restaurant and meal was his favorite in the end. I kind of make a game out of it and try to guess which one he will choose.
Overall, this is just a fun, laid-back show to watch. Might I suggest having some food or snacks handy though because this show will make you hungry.

I like casually viewing these kinds of fun cooking shows, but I just couldn't do the host with this one. I can't believe everyone who helped produce this show approved of Daym's behaviour.
Not only was he rude, ignorant and disrespectful, he was obviously making the chefs feel uncomfortable with his efforts to try and be funny and it was just non-stop faking laughs on their behalf. No understanding of food or ingredients, no open mindedness. I hope if there is a second season, that this man isn't involved.
