The show itself is giving Hotel del luna vibes, that being said its a good show. It will definitely be interesting to see how the show progresses.

Korean Mini Drama 'The Witch's Diner' is a drama with many layers. The main story is pretty interesting, with a witchy atmosphere, beautiful settings and intriguing characters. The short make a wish stories were all interesting, in addition, and they helped the drama move forward and keep being entertaining throughout its length.
The performances were a key element for this drama as well. Especially the leading lady, she was amazing as the mystical, freaky and dynamic witch and she didn't resemble any of her previous roles.
So, overall, 8 out of 10.

No matter how you look at it, the drama was a missed opportunity for something much better. It's a very dumbed-down secondhand tacky "be careful what you wish for" type of story. Little to no dynamic between the female lead and the witch until the last episode. The introduction of the female lead and her "wish" was definitely a weak start for the drama. Poorly written and executed love interest for the female lead, it wouldn't have been an issue if they didn't give her a trashy pair up but instead something that would serve the narrative and the resolution better. None of the clients were interesting and the outcome was always lacking the x-factor other than the obvious trade off of the deal. At least the drama looked nice and the cast was good enough.

Generally I think K-Dramas are overrated on IMDB by about 1.0, so given that a 7.6 rating is considered "decent/good" which I feel is strange.
"A+" elite for visuals and effects, they're not overdone (like I think happened on It's Okay to not be Okay") but tastefully and artistically applied.
"A" for narrative pacing. I do think it could have been a few more episodes long, but that's only because I was left wanting more, not because the pacing was abrupt or anything, it felt like an artistic choice (whether it was or not, that's what it felt like) and made the drama feel precious while it lasted. A season 2 would make perfect sense here as the story does come full circle but at the same time feels like more can be told.
"A-" for story and premise. Story is very tidy, it doesn't try to be an epic or a masterpiece, but it's clean and cleanly executed. Sets out with an objective to be something, and does it very well.
"A" for acting. I was surprised at how charismatic Song Ji Hyo was on this, I've avoided her acting because I watch RM and felt I was too familiar with her to not see through her acting, but I've changed my mind after watching this. Solid acting.
Overall, again it doesn't claim or try to be a "masterpiece", but what it does try to do in being a cool and clean premise of a drama is "masterfully done" I would say.

Amazing drama

This drama is beyond my expectations. Even it's just an drama of an OTT platform, but the castings, the CGI, the directing, the scene set ups, even the OSTs are all in one great harmony. Not to mention the ending is one of the most completed stories I've seen from kdramas as of late. Only thing to complain is too little of witch Heera which I think is the one that holds the aura of the whole drama. Actress Song Ji Hyo's acting is superb that I completely believed its Jo Heera herself, not Song Ji Hyo. A short quality drama worth watching.

Everything about this drama is incredibly awesome and who worked behind and on the screen for this drama deserve to be praised. All of them did a great work. The storyline of this drama is amazing, the props and costumes of the actors were well prepared, the cinematography was also great.

A poem about life
I just finished watching the last episode of The Witch's Diner and although I realize that what was meant to be told was told, I'm still very hungry for much more of this excellent and original TV show. Why only 8 episodes?
I applaud Korean film making that it so many times comes up with original ideas like in this case: you can make a wish while eating the best meal you've ever tasted. Your wish is guaranteed to come true but it'll cost you something precious, so "Be careful what you wish for". The show is about making choices, but also about regrets that may follow a choice and how to deal with that and as life is about continuing making choices, this is a show about life itself.
If you really, really wish for something it may come true, but it has consequences on other parts of your life and it may affect other people. Each episode presents some themes about life that can make you think about it. That is if you're open and willing to take in what the characters give you and if you look a bit further than just the witch idea, which in itself is an original and well-acted out idea.
Song Ji-Hyo is absolutely stunning as the beautiful and mesmerizing witch. Wow!!! Also, the ravishing Nam Ji-hyun and definitely all the other great actors perform a great job in giving us this TV show. The way the actors present their characters and their stories to us is superb. So recognizable human - in contrary to too many American plastic shows - that it becomes your own world, real life people you can sympathize with and want to have in your life.
The cast is sincerely superb as is the directing, camerawork, sound and everything else that makes this show outstanding. It was a real pleasure watching this series and I regret it's over after 8 episodes, but to the whole team of actors and director and technical staff and everybody that worked on realizing this show I say: THANK YOU!

From the amazing actors, fresh storylines, CGI, cinematography and the life lessons, everything is just amazing. Great portrayal of the witch. Song jihyo is perfect for the witch while Chae Jong Hyeop, a rising star, has an endearing character in the drama and Nam Jihyun (a great actress) with her dynamic character in this drama have great chemistry with the other lead actors.
