First half was enjoyable because I decreased all my expectations after first review.

Otherwise the whole movie was not even 1% of my expectations.

Mahesh Babu was amazing the remaining cast was fun to match.

Looked like the whole movie was just made for timepass and second half was never written just directed randomly.

Mahesh Babu gave 101% to the movie where Trivikram made his 1%.

The song placement was complete mess which created interruptions in a movie which itself is a big interruption.

The story itself is a big blunder felt mashup of all the mother son sentimental movies.

And the first half completely gave Ala Vaikuntapuramlo vibes even the characters and their behaviour.

The backstory of the separation was itself a big joke and the movie had no point before proper foundation.

The climax was just cringe af.

Thaman used all the remaining OST of his old movies in this movie especially Ala Vaikuntapuramlo.

The mother son REUNION where you expect emotional breakdown felt a cringe romance between mother and son.

GIVE IT A TRY FOR FIRST HALF.

Ramana (Mahesh Babu) is the only son for Satyam (Jayaram) and Vasundhara (Ramya Krishna). A family feud takes a dark turn one night leading to Satyam sentenced to prison for murder and Vasundhara divorces him. Further, she leaves her son Ramana as well, as she moves in with her father Vyra Venkata Swamy (Prakash Raj). She remarries and has another son, while Ramana cannot figure out the reason why she left him. Vasundhara is a law minister and looking to launch her son into politics as well, only hindrance is Ramana. He is asked to sign an affidavit declaring he is not related to Vasundhara, which hurts him. What really happened that night for a mother to leave her son and will the mother-son ever re-unite forms rest of the story.

Trivikram has come up with a flimsy storyline revolving around the mother-son duo. Most of the times, Trivikram excels with such stories with enough room for credible family drama and entertainment. Sadly, Guntur Kaaram doesn't get the same treatment and relies heavily on Mahesh Babu's charisma and ability to carry the threadbare story till the end. The humor does work but the film stays dull throughout. The drama doesn't have enough weight to it, as the reveal happens only in the end and by then, it starts looking too superficial. Sure, the idea would've thrilled Trivikram enough to expect an easy blockbuster but the screenplay fails to keep up the drama.

This leaves Mahesh Babu to take over the entire film and he does it with ease. Be it his mannerism or his dialect, he nails it. He even dances as energetically as he fights. The same cannot be said about rest of the starcast who barring Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna and Easwari Rao, do not get roles with any credible character arc. Vennela Kishore lends able support but it feels routine. Be it Jayaram or Jagapathi Babu, they are badly wasted. SreeLeela gets to showcase her dancing skills asusual. The pre-climax action scene is the one which stood out for me while the rest failed to leave a mark.

Overall, Guntur Kaaram is a mediocre entertainer that barely works in parts and that too due to Mahesh Babu. A Sankranti misfire.

Babu scores, Trivikram disappoints

Thought AVPL had the weakest story among all Trivikram movies, guess what, GK story is much thinner than that and that's the main issue.

Right from the word go, movie runs on a one note, with bits and pieces of entertainment here and there, few work, thanks to the main lead's screen presence, but when it comes to the conflict, it's just weak and disconnected.

As expected, Superstar Mahesh Babu plays it to the galleries, be the body language, dialogues, especially dances, he solely lifts the movie. Sree Leela did what she can do, flaunt her glamor and dancing skills, don't know why on Meenakshi Chaudhary did this role, instantly regrettable. Rest of the cast don't do much, the important character played Ramya Krishna was severely under-utilized.

Technically, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa was fine, editing by Navin Nooli was patchy. Music and BGM by Thaman was really below average, but the worst part is the sound mixing, outright bad and terrible.

Coming to writer-director Trivikram, looks like his pen ran out of ink, not a single high moment, zero mass, zero emotion.

BOTTOM-LINE: Trivikram garu, meeru velli PK ki PR ga, guide cheyyandi, movies direction matram vadhu.

The storyline itself may seem a bit ludicrous, and unfortunately, it transforms into a cringe-worthy screenplay overloaded with commercial elements like comedy, sentiment, fights, songs, and the whole shebang. Enduring this film is akin to a self-inflicted torture.

Mahesh Babu gives it his all, attempting a fresh approach with his character and performance in comparison to his recent works. However, Ramya Krishnan's potential is sadly underutilized, leaving much to be desired.

Sree Leela delivers her usual dose of subpar acting but compensates with great dancing skills. The remaining cast, caught up in mundane roles, manages to scrape by with okay performances.

Production values pass muster, and the music is, well, music. However, the direction feels antiquated, and it's high time Guruji explores new avenues rather than sticking to this worn-out formula.

In all honesty, this film isn't worth the theater ticket, not even a glance on OTT platforms. Save yourself the trouble.

Disappointed

First time disappointed with Trivikram direction .. Not even a single scene proves it is directed by Trivikram .. Not sure what made Mahesh babu to chose this subject .. Generally people watch people to pass the time seems Trivikram time passed with out directing .. Utter disappointment .Seems they focused on the encashing by releasing in more theatres during Sankranthi ..🙏🙏Trivikram sir we want you back don't focus on star casting and big banners ..we want your dialogues ,Screenplay we watch your movies for your work irrespective who is starred in the movie.

Producers even should know what they taking it looks no control by any department.

Not worth watching

This movie seems to be a super star Mahesh Babu New vintage version by his looks and is mannerism!! And rest of the film like was not as exciting like Ala vaikuntapuram loo flim like his previous film of director trivikram sir !! Usually trivikram sir has unique talent by conveying the core content plot by his magic presence!!! But in this film I feel nothing. It's seems like traveling guntur to Hyderabad by via car every day in the movie by hero !! 😅😅🤣!! Joke's appart, it was just a simple booring film including unnecessary characters!! And having just simple and predictable ending 😏😏😏!! The message oriented film will be good to the Mahesh Babu sir better than this kind of film scripts!! Sorry to say this but as a fan of Mahesh Babu since from pokiri film 😔😔!!

I really cant believe that movies like these exists. There is absolutely no content in the movie. It is pure 2 hour rubbish. The movie changes sequence so fast that its difficult to keep up. The only nice thing she can do is dance. Action scenes are un necessary. A fight every 5 mins just makes the movie so redundant. The movie is trying to display a very special bond that exists between a mother and a son but they have absolutely failed to do so. I dont feel bad neither for the mom nor the son. Such good actors but pure waste of talent. Old storyline with cringeworthy acting. Specially the actress. She is trying to act cute but just looks dumb.

I'm sure you've already read a ton of reviews about why not to watch the movie so far but I'll give you one reason to watch it: Mahesh Babu.

Time and time again, for over the past decade, he's been trolled over his dances, expressions, how all his movies only focus on social messages, and etc. In this movie, he SHINED. Even though the screenplay and story was severely underwhelming, Mahesh Babu singlehandedly saved this movie. By the way, don't get me wrong, the cast did really good acting, but a lot of the characters were severely underutilized and weren't given proper limelight in the script.

In this movie, you will see a Mahesh Babu in full-form in likes we haven't seen since Dookudu and Businessman. From his comedy timing, to silencing all the trolls with dances and really young, healthy looks, he really made the movie a worth watch.

The movie could've been better in numerous aspects such as script (I am a Trivikram fan and I know how much better a script he can make, he just didn't write a script that was at his range this time), but it completely meets and even exceeds expectations in the promise it makes that this is an out-and-out SUPER STAR MAHESH BABU FILM. If you are a fan of his or are curious about the way he was presented in this film, I definitely recommend watching this movie.

8 Stars/10. With so much negative reviews out there, I'm giving it an 8/10 because of the respect for Mahesh Babu Garu, for the 110% effort he put towards this movie, and in appreciation for the rest of the cast who even though didn't get as much a role as they should've, still aced their roles while they could.

Finally, to Guruji and Thaman: You can and will make better projects like this in the future, use this film as a lesson for how to improve in the future.

Time pass movie for MB fans

Honestly, it's not that bad what reviews are, certainly the first batch viewers may have different agenda. Trivikram is missing M S Narayana, Darmavarapu Subramanyam, Brahmanandam, we clearly see that void. It is out and out Mahesh Babu movies, full of mass characterization, intentionally he kept himself away from a social message, people got bored of social messages. Certainly don't look for dark stories like KGF, Salaar, not every movie and every viewer is expecting such kind of movies. Srileela justified her role, though not much scope. Prakash Raj gave a decent performance. Thaman music was okay. Overall timepass.

It suffers from outdated sequences and a lack of emotional depth.

"Guntur Kaaram" can be classified as a formulaic commercial family entertainer. While the film avoids gratuitous violence commonly found in today's big star movies, it suffers from outdated sequences and a lack of emotional depth. There is no humor either. The film largely hinges on Mahesh Babu's star power and his performance.

Even the climax makes no impact when leaving the theater. But despite all this, there is only one positive factor, and that is Mahesh with his free-flowing ease. The dialogues written for him work, even though intermittently. The mass song that comes in the second half is fantastic and raises the energy. Overall, Guntur Kaaram can be watched once with low expectations during the festive season, without expecting much originality, action, or emotions, other than Mahesh's energy.

I see some unusual hate towards trivikram recently spiking for no reason, but this movie is a really well made film, and you could see Mahesh babu's best acting so far, and also the story has depth and is different from recent trivikram's family oriented movies (from atharintiki daredhi onwards), the movie has really good dialogues,songs, but apart from prakash raj's evil background music, rest all bgm's are garbage, doesn't even fit at all in many scenes.

The story has multiple perspectives, and a really strong dialogue writing there for characters, and the acting of all the characters are really well done.

Like as usual, we fail to acknowledge good movies when it is in theaters, and rather cherish when it get's old, many telugu people failed to understand Trivikram's khaleja, athadu commercially when it was released but celebrated when it is out of shelf, sadly most people don't know what they want from trivikram or unable to understand his talent. We've produced more mindless masses who just worships actors than the art which goes behind.

And if trivikram comes out of his family genre towards more concept or plot based movies, he could easily out beat many other directors, but sadly he is still running behind formula based family, mass entertainment movies than experimenting movies.

The movie starts of well the initial 20 minutes are promising but after that the movie falls a bit some jokes don't land and some characters felt completely useless especially Meenakshi choudhary. Even though there are negatives the movie somewhat worked for me the Mahesh Babu's comic timing is very good and the side characters such as vennela Kishore , Ajay did good job . Prakash raj character looks mediocre where we seen in many films . Sree Leela is also a typical masala film style heroine with less importance and only there for dance . Music especially bgm by thaman worked for me unlike majority public opinion. The major plus for the film is Mahesh Babu he pulled of the whole film with his charm but still this is the trivikram's one of the weakest films where his dialogues didn't create magic and there is always a class element goes undercurrent in his films which is missing in this film and trivikram's screenplay is not that engaging in this film overall it's a one time watch for me.

Mahesh is a great actor, I wish he chooses movies with better content, I wish he reads these reviews because this is out of line now, can't make a difference between his last few movies, such a great actor but such unnecessary movies, not sure what is with Thaman, one of the worst music directors in the Telugu film industry, Mani Sharma is ten times better, you can't make any difference between his songs, everything sounds like trash of noise. Rajamouli is the only one who can save Mahesh. There is not one song which we can listen to later, there is not one scene noteworthy, and the story, I think Trivikram is over, he shifts character storylines from here to there but has the same story and fights are boring 😴

Trivikram garu should have just kept with his writer role

Had mad respect for Trivikram garu for a long time. I think his best movies were Athadu and Khaleja. And that's it! All the movies he has been doing including this one is simply killing his time and making money. I am not sure if he spent as much of his intellect as he did with writings for Manmadudu and Nuvvu Naku Nachav.

I would rather watch those movies again rather than sit through AVPL or Aravinda Sametha or this movie. He has been making making a constant mockery of himself and of people who believe in his intelligent writing. Oh well, at least we did think so. Do yourself a favor and stay out of this one stay back home watch Manmadhudu for another joyful time.

And I don't understand why they put so many useless characters like heroen useless villains even they don't know how to use the charectors even they not use jagpati babu he could be one of the best villain in this movie in this movie there is no villain, only a hero cannot hit a movie it's need team work story emotions they try to copy but they failed next time first' choose best villain So guys good luck.

Mahesh Babu sir, please stop assuming Telugu audience get entertained only through age old formulae

It is such a boring movie, really poor jokes.

Trivikram - not really sure how one can gets with more experience in the bag

Absolutely idiotic movie. Glad I haven't spent time visiting theatre to watch this utter nonsense. Mahesh Babu should have had some sense to choose better movies at least after observing utter failure of storyline between Keerthi Suresh and Mahesh Babu in Sarkaru Vari Pata and avoided a very similar one.

Mahesh Babu doesn't have to always convey a message through the movie. It is well known fact that audience don't get any better motivated to change their way of living. If movie stars really want to bring change in society, they should take lead with some actions in real life. Truly admire Mahesh's support for kids. But if one wants to bring in change in the system, acting alone won't make a difference. They should start something in real life parallel to it.

So it's always better to focus on creating good subjects focussing on keeping audience engaged.

Good Movie

Guntur karam is worth watching with family. Coming to the actors in this movie Mahesh babu done his best in dance and comedy timing,Sreleela could have done more better but ok and her dance was good, Meenakshi Chowdary's character was like not much useful for the movie but overall she also done it well, Ramya krishna done a good role,Prakash raj acting was good,Vennela kishore comedy is decent . The Thaman music director made some dissapointment to the audience like there is only one new bgm that was in teaser as well which was good and other bgm's are like similar to his previous movies bgm but the songs are good. And overall Guntur karam is a good family emotional story which connects to the family audience more.

Mahesh Babu aces in this potboiler.

The movie definitely has a wafer-thin story, and could have been lot more spicier. Agreed! But, it revolves around the emotions attached to it and that is how this movie works.

Full credit must go to MB for salvaging this film with his super charged performance. Even the most coldhearted viewer would shed tears at two scenes. MB even lights up the dance floor with his energy. I'd say, Guntur Kaaram is MB's best work from amongst his last 9 films.

Writer & Director Trivikram Srinivas Garu is below par, and not at his best. He just about manages to deliver what's needed. I wanted to see Guntur and its cultural nuances explored in his writing. Sadly, not to be! Cinematography by Manoj Paramahansa Garu is good.

Guntur Kaaram's climax reminds you of the climax of Mutyala Muggu (1975).

The biggest let down of the film however, is Thaman Garu's music. The BGM is garbage! Completely out of place. And the songs don't work. All of them sound the same. Keeravani Garu, Manisharma Garu, Vandemataram Srinivas Garu or Koti Garu would have brought in the much-needed Guntur/Krishna native flavor and cultural nuances into the scenes & songs.

The film, and Trivikram Srinivas Garu have been facing some unusual hate. The reality is all the talk, language and noise by Producer Naga Vamsi Garu, Music Director Thaman Garu and Distributor Dil Raju Garu leading upto the film's release, was tasteless, hot-headed and way over-the-top. The negative vibes did not go down well with movie goers, and in a social media era, they themselves have given a lot of ammo to trollers and get trolled.

Telugu film critics, and impatient metro-city audiences especially, need to understand that there is a lot of appreciable content in this film, if you choose to see it!

I expect this formulaic, family entertainer to do well in theaters for few more weeks in interior A. P., and it will certainly do good on TV and OTT.

Budget 200 cr , day 1 was 41 cr but day 2 and onwards was huge decline , day 2 was 14 cr and after 2 weeks it crossed 120 cr in India and now its collection is in lakhs soon going to close. Overseas also lifetime 30 cr , so its a flop and it always happens when Sree Leela is lead actress. Sreleela ko bhi farak nahi padta , jab tak getting movies tabtak do it earn and when times comes in few years ki things like over then go back to your foreign home as NRI. Hanuman which was released alongside and got day 1 of 14 cr has already beaten since it crossed 150 cr and will wrapup around 160 cr in India and overseas too Hanuman 50 cr around so overall 210 cr around net box office collection as compared to guntur karam ww 150 cr net box office collection life , note guntur karam budget 200 cr, Hanuman around 50 cr budget.

A perfect Film for Sankranti festival... Family entertainer

Worth to watch entire family....as it is a perfect family entertainer and u will enjoy the a lot... Whole family will forget the time and tensions while watching the film dont believe in negative reviews ... Do watch it u i'll definitely love it.. Trivikram direction mark he is successfull in that as u even forget its a trivikram magic because of his fum and indepth dialogues as the spontaneous timing with simple words one line dialogues and multiple meanings.... Wow what a writer.... Direction wise new sort of taking , above average music and bgm was good not that much impact as it was given in veerasimhareddy and skanda as it results in headache but in this film u ill loved the music at certain parts and scenes in remining scenes u ill find a decent music...really loved it guys...

MB performance peaks and Trivikram trying to reinvent himself. Good watch.

Narrative-wise, it's an intriguing political thriller with a twist of family emotions. The first half could have been more captivating with additional political drama instead of a lovetrack. The second half, however, was exceptional!

Mahesh Babu's performance is an absolute comeback. His mastery in slang, modulation, and body language is a much-needed change.

Trivikram made a commendable effort to step out of his comfort zone. No Mahabharatham or Ramayan examples, and no overly melodramatic episodes.

Finally, there is so much unnecessary negativity, I think trivikram and MB combo is always a flop in theatres later gets raved in small screen.

"Guntur Karam" disappoints on many levels, resulting in a thoroughly unsatisfying movie experience. The fight scenes are hilariously unrealistic, making it impossible to take the action seriously. Additionally, the storyline lacks depth, failing to engage viewers and leaving them completely disconnected from the plot. Overall, the film fails to fulfill its promises and offers little entertainment value. It was a complete waste of two hours, especially considering Trivikram's usual ability to deliver comedic brilliance. And why on earth does Mahesh Babu use a Rayalaseema accent in a movie set in Guntur ? Rotta movie.

Talent of good actors like Vennela Kishore, Eeshwari Rao, Mahesh babu is wasted in this cringe worth movie. I never expected anything better from Trivikram - hero using vulgar language to disrespect and objectify women, and the women acting like they're born for it and rest of the story is the same. I STRONGY URGE HIM TO STOP MAKING MOVIEs like this and calling them a mass entertainer.

Mahesh Babu must leave behind his ridiculous treatment of women in his film and his outdated movies ! Disrespecting women and referring to them in an even more vulgar way detracts from Mahesh Babu's status as a supposed superstar. You wouldn't expect your own to be called & described in that manner !
