As micro-budget horror movies go, it isn't bad. It starts out with a few highly identifiable friends showing their struggling, working-class lives during the height of the pandemic. The most irresponsible of the quartet has a misguided plot to kidnap a despicable congressman. From there things predictability go south. Bonus points if you're familiar with the lovecraft mythos but not a requirement. Be braced for a bad effects, some distortion of sound, but surprisingly tolerable acting. Smells a bit like evil dead with fewer jokes. I've watched much worse. If it's a 1st, or even 5th attempt, it's certainly much better than I could do. But, you could use a little more direction in your plot post kidnapping. It felt a little forced. All in all, well done. I love seeing the mythos portrayed on screen in all forms 👍👏

A plot that made no sense and went nowhere
znvxxxj26 November 2023
This was without a doubt absolute garbage, the characters, plot, none of it had any cohesion to what was happening. Every scene comes across poorly shot, the actors while I'm sure they did their best with what they were given deliver less than believable performances regarding anything they're doing. The effects are badly done and are a stark contrast with the scenes portrayed. Don't waist your time with this disaster piece, truly watching paint dry would provide a more entertaining evening. The plot has no idea what it's doing scene from scene, they're a few sub plots going on that never get revisited or brought up again so what was the point of introducing them to the story anyways. In closing don't watch this terrible movie. Go buy a churro or do anything else more valuable with your time.

Small Town Budget, Big City Dreams

Warning: Spoilers
I'm a big horror fan and I think most original ideas are limited by what big time media will allow to be produced. It takes small businesses like this to branch out and create something different, so its unfair to judge the quality to something you'd see in IMAX. That being said, I felt like there were two stories that were being forced together and, in my opinion, it didn't quite mesh. I'm not knowledgeable in the Cthulu Mythos, but I like the concepts the director went for here. The script could use some tidying up, but overall it was fun to watch and the actors did a great job with what they had to work with. I look forward to seeing what Frog Labs comes out with next!

An Excellent Independent Film!!!
CinicMusic5 October 2023
I love horror movies and I've seen a lot of independent horror movies. Though none of them have impressed me such as this particular one has. At approximately three minutes in I was hooked. The whole thing is quite the ride for a Lovecraft fan and it just gets weirder and weirder as it goes! You can tell they put their hearts and souls into it and that's one of the best things about it. The passion for Lovecraftian horror is extremely apparent! Keep up the excellent work, I'm looking forward to anything and everything this studio puts out! This will be a beautiful start to my long relationship with anything Frog Labs puts out going forward. Thank you Frog Labs for making this masterpiece of a film you've gained a fan for life!

P. S. - Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!

Lovecraftian!
johnnawhite-2600413 October 2023
If you're a Lovecraft fan, this terrific independent film will be a thrill. It's jam-packed with references towards the Lovecraftian mythology, eldrich horrors of the mind, and the story line is also full of twists, turns and surprises!

When this small group of friends decide to kidnap a politician, it doesn't turn out to be an ordinary kidnapping and the politician himself is anything but ordinary! This is gets surreal.

It's very well done! I really liked it! For me, the added bonus is that I found out about a religious group that's protesting the film, that makes it even more fun in my mind.

Different perspective
johnnyesuz3 December 2023
As a deeply spiritual person and believer in GOD, I found the explanation about life and concept of "your GOD" interesting. Even though I have a different belief, I can appreciate seeing a different perspective of the character Adam's explanation while sitting at the table near the end. Having an open mind naturally helped me see a different concept. The filmmaker is a deep thinker and leaves the door open to interpretation. The mind is a powerful tool. He shows/uses that with all the film's characters. The character Evie was able to question Adam's explanation while still keeping her moral compass. Her need to attempt to understand Adam made her likable to me. I loved the way the film touched on modern events in America like BLM, Antifa, the police/African American tensions. It was eye opening without being preachy. Held my interest the whole film. The cinematography was good for a local film on a budget. I liked seeing places I recognized. The writing was well done, truthful and easy to understand. Enjoyed this film! Only wish it were longer. My only issue! 👏🏾

I liked it

Warning: Spoilers
I thought it was well made and well acted. The exposition was good and while I felt the bloody tongue monster looked like the underview of a shark it was a good costume. Blood effects were good. The intimacy scene felt not super necessary but didn't detract from anything for me either. The troglydite quote was a good line of dialogue

All the main acting talent did good jobs, I especially liked the actor for Adam Beard. The special effects were generally good, I especially liked the multiple alternate reality warping scene and the double pupil effect.

I would watch another Frog lab movie Nyarlathotep willing.

Warning: Spoilers
Either way you look at it this Movie is absolutely amazing. I was skeptical at first and as I watched it I couldn't stop and I have been a HP Lovecraft fan for many many years. I have watched all the movies. I am very into Mythos. Anyways I can't say enough about this movie without giving spoilers and I promised myself I wouldn't. Just watch it you will not be disappointed. I like how this movie was done it has glitches purposely and that just adds to it

EAT THE RICH - a phantasmagoric, Lovecraftian is a film about 4 friends that kidnap a sleazy State senator, as the main Protagonist has kidnapped the senator the friends all start to freak out as one by one they find out he is not human in fact who is to say he is a he this is Nyarlathotep or sometimes called NyHarLutHotep. It gets really good at the end when he shows the girls all the different possibilities, it is than that they realise everything is as it should be and that everything they thought they knew was for nought.

So go figure NyHarLutHotep is the good guy or is he might this be just another step further down the rabbit hole to complete and utter madness.

Cult classic
jillnabors9 April 2023
I love foreign and independent films and was not disappointed by this movie. I was skeptical at first but I couldn't stop watching.

It's definitely worth a watch and very well done 🤗 I just really enjoy movies that make you think about reality. I don't typically like HP Lovecraft but I liked this one.

Kind of reminds me of Army of the dead, one of my favorites. I remember when everyone else was not into it because of the off the wall camera work but it was an independent student film. Today it's a cult classic.

Be sure to watch last the first end credits:)

I hope to see more from Frog Labs. Definitely my line of movie genre.
