Not sure what I just watched... I actually had to go back and quickly check to make sure I hadn't sat on the FF button.
Did the pandemic cut filming short? Were there supposed to be several more episodes in there that actually finished a story arc?
I'm all for an X-Files-esque take on religion, but at least they (sort of) explained the origin of the monster at the end of the episode.
They also knew that keeping the unaddressed sexual tension UNADDRESSED is what made that partnership more interesting. ::AHEM!::
These episodes give the impression that the writers are terrified that the show might be canceled at any second, so they keep creating these massive, unresolved story lines in order to keep stringing us along and boost ratings. Well, their lack of faith is going to backfire as we lose track of who did what and why we should care, and none of the villains ever seem to get punished, and the people we should care about all become villainous and unrepentant.
I'm no fan of organized religion, ESPECIALLY the Catholic Church, but even I'm starting to feel like this is getting disrespectful and like thinly veiled hate mail to the Vatican.
