Surprisingly good

This was surprisingly good, giving the low quality of new comedy shows on BBC3.

I really warmed to the two leads - who also wrote this - and it was quirkily original, though not incredibly funny.

Just as it's getting into its stride, it ends; so I suppose a series may follow?

Loved it

Echoes of Edgar Wright and Phoebe Waller-Bridge in this. An sublime tale of a childhood friendship bordering on obsessive. Extremely funny and surreal in parts. Joyous and tragic in equal measures.

Needs some distance from real events

There's a lovely tone here, and Charly Clive is magnetic. But it is perhaps a little bogged down by the proximity to real life events. The central relationship between best friends isn't quite working on-screen. I don't know if it's the casting or the writing- probably a combination. Tiny moments that had such great magnitude in the creator's lives don't translate to a fictional story that is as funny, dramatic, moving or compelling as it needs to be.
