Utterly disappointing
swapnil-talpade26 September 2022
An utterly slow and boring product guised as a suspense thriller with a clutter of convoluted characters making nonsensical decisions. The series tries to bank on famous names like Juhi Chawla, Shahana Goswami and Soha Ali Khan, who are great actors, but burdened with a script that is bound to fail and bring them down with it. The personal stories of each character do nothing to move an already dragging screenplay. Karishma Tanna's cop is wanna be Sherlock, but keeps being handed evidence and yet ends up being commended and supported by a unnecessarily foul mouthed superior, who by the way is another fine actor wasted. The biggest hindrance to the plot are the three leading ladies. They keep making the most stupidest decisions without thinking or discussing it through. They keep honking the ethical horn but end up doing the most unethical things. You hear so much about Juhi's character Ishi through out, especially in the penultimate episode. The character of Ishi is made out to be a messiah for no apparent reason. The end reveal is laughable and you can see it coming from miles away. The hint for a second season is anything but exciting. Overall a boring, senseless series that might be able to salvage itself in the second season provided they decide to hire a good script writer and even better directors.

There is no need of season2
dreams-5665923 September 2022
Average. Juhi Chawala deserved something big for come back. Ayesha Julka,Tamanaha,Kritika, soha were ok ok type.they deliberately left the story in midway to make another season, which was not at all required. Story starts on good but later on it becomes boring and in the last two episodes it is again kind of interesting. Like I was literally thinking why they are showing the side stories of the friends which was too boring. It is one time watch only.

These days I dont know why every web series need LGBT angle. Story is confusing sometimes. Makers had such good artist still they didnt meet my expectations. Trailer was more good than original series.

Half Fry
cifarshayar23 September 2022
Series stars well with all elements of a thriller in start but the story stretched after this without any reason . I think makers made this season keeping in mind the sequel due to which this part seems incomplete even though there was efforts to give a logical ending.

Tanuja Chandra after a long time brought complexity of women's life woven with a murder mystery but even after good performances by Soha Ali Khan Pataudi, Shahana Goswami, Karishma Tanna ,Kritika Kamra and Ayesha Jhulka the entire act remain Hush- Hush. Hope season 2 uplift the plot in a better way because there are lots of possibilities of interesting outcome.

Ban the director!
apoorvmittal1023 September 2022
Bad direction, awful acting and horrible story. The director needs to stop working as can't watch any more non-sense.

The series has all the illogical things to create dumb storyline. It starts with murder to unfold the background story which was not predictable as no one can think about so many illogical things. Also the backdrop and reasons for characters to do crime was not clearly directed nor it's logical.

I am not sure if the cast and director has watched it themselves, I am sure not as if they had watched then wouldn't dare to release this.

Please watch chota bheem instead of this great show.

Watch only if you have extraordinary patience
Biswas_23 September 2022
The story of this series is pretty old and nothing unique.

The series starts off in the most snail slow pace i have ever seen in recent times. It will test your patience like anything for atleast 4 episodes. To add salt to inury, the conversations are so damn boring and uninteresting that atleast in the 1st episode before the plot is established in the final few mins, you will doze off. They have literally stitched the boring moments one after the other. You will also find those typical feminist conversations like talks about v**ina, talks about men etc.

The climax is bizzare and leaves the series open for a s2 which i will not watch because it tested my patience so bad that i felt i wasted my time watching this series.

Watch only if you can bear the excruciatingly painful pace of this series.

Good blend
sameerlodaya22 September 2022
Sameer lodaya

The series is a good blend of 4 friends along with their own life's

The series smoothly sails for 7 episodes for this season where the content is good and how these 4 friends stands for each other with their personal chaos in life

The characters designed were outclassed and all have played their roles magnificently kritika has played like a hero with sahana who supported her well..all the four looked gorgeous..ayesha made a good come back..never the less the super cop played by karishma was commendable

All the directors made fine print with good aesthetics and classy art work..this series is unlike the other girls gang series which is bold in all sense here they are neat and clean

The bad part is that they have smartly kept the mystery open for another season.. the bing watchers like me gets disgusted to wait for another season and precisely now a days every weekend there is a new series which washes the memory and interest for your another season.

An over chewed chewing gum... no need for season 2
greatnivedita24 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Just finished watching it, personally, this was just a big star cast, big production all sitting together on drinks and discussing let's do something... juhi chaturvedi came up with a plot, (which is absolutely not new) Page 3 movie, just with a few things here and there... the big star cast demanded that they need a good screen space and the scenes have to let them explore their acting potential... so you end up with a slow, stretchy, "put on" performances... and you get Hush Hush season 1... this could easily finish off in 3 episodes, but they pulled it for 8 long hrs with 8 episodes... spoiler alert- you still won't know who dun it.

Strong content!! Hard hitting stuff!! Watch it
sanjubhat26 September 2022
Web series review: Hush Hush Streaming on Prime Video #sanjuzzreviews #HushHushOnPrime #hushhush #primevideo Directed by Tanuja Chandra Hush Hush is a strong female oriented crime thriller.

4 bff's - Juhi Chawla (Ishi), Shahana Goswami( Zaira), Soha Ali Khan ( Saiba) & Kritika Kamra (Dolly) from influential backgrounds attend a high profile party where a murder is committed by one of them. Ishi is also found dead later that night under suspicious circumstances. The other 3 friends are slowly sucked into a web of blackmail, lies and deceit which wrecks havoc in their so called idyllic lives.

Was Ishi murdered or did she commit suicide?

What were the circumstances that lead to her grim fate. These are the questions that the series attempts to answer.

Delicate topics like same sex relationships, child abuse, dysfunctional families , women's empowerment & toxic patriarchy have been well presented. Hard hitting stuff .. Kudos to the director!!

Casting is bang on , all 4 protagonists have played their parts well. Ayesha Jhulka(Meera) as Juhi's childhood friend and Karishma Tanna (Geeta) as a no nonsense Haryanvi cop investigating the case also play an important part in the narrative.

On the flip side the makers have kept the story open ended when there was no reason to do so, thereby paving the way for a second season!!

Overall Hush Hush has strong content and definitely bingewatch worthy. Go for it, You won't be disappointed!!

3.5 /5 stars from me .. adios 🙂!!

VERY GOOD WEB SERIES
sunildaswaney-6364229 September 2022
HUSH HUSH is a very good family suspense filled murder drama with matching performances by all of the ladies. Everything was top notch about this show.

7/10 Ps. Was shocked to see the major transformation of Ayesha Jhulka from a chirpy, bright and bubbly girl(from JJWS&CHACHI 420)to an elderly lady. I guess nobody can go against Father Time😔😔😔 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Boring and stretched
meghaprofile25 September 2022
The most boring series on prime. You cant make any sense out of the dialogues. You would think that there will be a twist but the show just is plain rubbish. They created so much story around the suspense that you loose interest in the suspense at all. Goes reallllllyy slow and gives you headache with such terrible dialogues. Juhi chawla can do much better. Tanna acted better then most of the characters. The characters fight for no reason, scream for no reason. Cant believe I wasted my time on this show. I really had high hopes with all women series but it is plain rubbish. Can easily be skipped.

Great watch!
vinayakgaur-1948822 September 2022
Looks great. However, the first episode reminds me of Big Little Lies. Thankfully, the storyline takes a different turn from there. Good watch with great performances! Juhi,Shahana and Soha have dome a great job. Direction is slick with tight storyline and great twists. Juhi seems to have reinvented herself with a subtle yet strong performance. A female oriented storyline with a strong cast is definitely the highlight of this series. Tanuja Chandra is a really talented director who has a knack for directing women oriented themes and she doesn't disappoint. Prime Video has definitely been focusing on getting quality content as part of their streaming line up.

Don't watch it, waste of time
milindghag25 September 2022
Honestly speaking, there is no 0 in rating scale otherwise I would have give 0. Very bad story very bad direction, and very bad acting as well. There is no consistency in emotions of the actors, e.g. Suddenly in one episode Adi and Dolly started fighting, Dolly left the house and when Dolly felt to meet Adi for her work, she suddenly felt feelings about Adi as the way she looked at him. Very bad direction. Seems it might be due multiple directors. A Very bad, they should not do more direction.... Don't waste your time.

Also Juhi Chawla got very limited space, she was lead actress still not that much of space which she deserves.

Comical plot twists! Its really bad!
shank35530 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Were they drunk when they wrote the script of this one? This script has the most illogical plot turns I have seen in any series. Any character decides to get out of character whenever the hell they decide to. One of the funniest plot twist was when a character rehires a blackmailer as an employee in her company. Please give me funds and Ill make a better series. I saw it for comic relief after a point. Disappointing as they have a bunch of good actresses in the series. I wish Soha Ali khan gets better roles. Also, as an audience you don't feel any connection with any of the characters because they have been developed so poorly.

First 2 episodes set expectation, but this ends after that.
rachitrock25 September 2022
Do not bother making season 2. I just wasted my time for a mid extended boring content which is now ended at a note of season 2 to see the story, doesn't make sense, gets confusing sometimes and is not worth waiting for s2. SOO MANY GREAT ARTISTS, ALL WASTED. The start is amazing, makes us immerse in the show and by the time you will feel what just happened and some scenes are like they were not at all needed and were just added to extend the time and episodes to take it to another season, seriously I have seen very rare content where such great talent is wasted for a very very very poor script.

Super-duper bad :(
abhig2126 September 2022
Everyone, I mean everyone involved with this series should be banned for lifetime in their respective area of expertise. I should have invested 5-6 hrs of my life into something better as anything could be better than this series. I had two power-naps in between episode 3 and & 5. None of the actors/actresses (except of Benjamin Gilani) could delivered with the associated character. No story, worst casting, worst acting. I wish, IMDB had 0 star.

If the team/production house looking to make season 2, please improve in every department. I will also not mind if they change the actor(s) for the same character(s).

Ignore the bad reviews
callawhite24 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Overall, it's a decent one time watch. The acting is okay, but nothing incredible- Kritika Kamra sometimes overdoes it and sometimes she's wooden. Karishma Tanna was better than I expected- but her accent keeps wavering between suave modern city girl and Haryanvi- doesn't feel authentic. I felt like Ayesha Jhulka's acting has been overrated by some- she was okay, but in fairness, her character felt very misled and confused writing.

The production value is very good, of course- you have swanky hotels and residences, and the opening theme is well done.

The dialogues by Ms Chaturvedi don't always hit the mark, and sometimes it's really slow. But there are lots of shows like this in the West and people don't mind the slow pace- I guess for Indians, "thrillers" need to be "fast paced".

Despite the slow first half of the series, it picks up pace in the 2nd half and then it all makes sense. Of course, there is still some mystery about the death, but that's a deliberate cliffhanger. I like how the patriarchy is depicted, sometimes in your face and sometimes subtly.

I really liked Juhi's performance - and at beginning, I only watched it for her. Her character is a powerful lobbyist but we don't get to see the powerful side because she has fallen from grace and is literally struggling. So you get to see the vulnerable side, which she aces. I just wish she had more screen time and better writing. I'd love to see more of her on OTT.

So yes there are flaws, but overall it's not all that bad. Thrillers don't always have to be fast paced- they can be slow moving and impactful. They can do better but keep the shows coming- it's an art and it's subjective.

Illogical and boring
avishek-9585030 September 2022
So many loopholes, unrelated dialogues which doesnt take the story anywhere. S1 ended with a totally abrupt climax. Eagerly waiting for S2 to be not released.

We need more such series.
inspiringpupil24 September 2022
Eagerly waiting for the second series. For sure society has lost patience and emotions. I wonder how people can be so heartless towards human trafficking occuring everywhere around the world in every society. We need more such series to show the filthy truth to everyone in our society. Only those who have seen or faced such incidents can understand this. Else People wouldn't have reviewed it so low. Life itself is slow at times, whenever we are in any stressful situation, we feel low and life seems like very slow. When we are happy, time seems to like fly. Same situation has been created in the series itself. Everyone acted so well. All the characters have done justice to the storyline.

Wasted my 7 hours
agouravrao1 October 2022
1. Wrong Casting 2. Juhi Chawla, Ayesha Jhulka - Still acted like 90s 3. No connection between lead actors 4. Not expected this on prime.

In todays time, when we find very good character like Kaaleen bhaiyya, Ganesh Gaitunde, we love their attitude, their way of dealing things. But here everything is so flat. No one wants to put their extra effort.

Only good thing is -Shahana Goswami who hold her character.

Karishma Tanna has to learn a lot.

Cinematography is better as compared to direction. But till the last episode, I was searching one good character who will deliver that level of acting that we see on other web series.

Kept hoping it would get better but it didn't!
notherndelight12 February 2023
Anyone who has given 5 stars or more to this series clearly haven't watched it all or been paid for their 'good' reviews! This series was disappointing and the ending was pathetic, I definitely won't be watching the next series. The acting was overall pretty poor and sadly it seems like Juhi has forgotten how to act. Such a shame as I loved her back in the days. The storyline did have some potential but along the way totally lost the grip and ended up being very mediocre. I found the swearing so unnecessary, I don't know why these days Indian series think it's cool to use such foul language! It didn't add anything to the characters or the storyline in fact I found it off putting, they are meant to be "high society" yet very poor vocabulary!!

Loosely made series
rahulnairm4 October 2022
Poor direction, bad performances and loosely linked storyline to summarize. Actors overact in some scenes and underact during some. Just shows the lack of quality in the direction. Lot of unnecessary scenes to extend the length of this already slow paced 'suspense thriller'. The makers have tried to give it the look and feel of other successful Indian web series of the same genre by providing similar introductory music and camera angles but the series is just a damp squib. Dialogues during the scene of the ladies quarreling among themselves could have been more logical and real. It just looks forced. This is just one example without giving away spoilers. Performance wise only Juhi Chawla (probably doesnt need any direction because of her experience) and Kanika Kamra (she was amazing is her short performance in Tandav too) stand out. Soha Ali Khan is terrific in some scenes but terrible in some. Just again shows the problem with the direction. The lesser said about Sahana and Karishma, the better. Someone please tell the makers and Karishma Tanna that the Haryanvi dialect has more to it than just saying 'meddem' for 'madam'. All in all a loosely made web series. In an era where the Indian Web Series industry has dished out some absolute mind boggling stories and performances, this one is a huge disappointment. 3 stars for Juhi and Kanika.

WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO HUSH ABOUT
seets-3588528 September 2022
We all have have something to Hush in our lives and this is the show where one can see loyalty and trust and friendship , this show has just that . A women based show each of them played their role very well .

The suspense and darkness was very well directed .

All the 4 womens personal chaotic lives were very well portrayed and even through that ,their bond and loyalty never faultered never lost strength or momentum . In future i love would to watch TV series like this one . Very well directed Tanuja mam . Have always loved watching what you direct . Looking forward to other such shows from you ......

If you miss it then you won't miss it.
janiravi7 December 2022
Good plot but it just doesn't hit the right note.

Karishma Tanna just doesn't fit the role of a cop, her acting and direction for this role is so poor that I nearly wanted to vomit. She walks into the investigation and crime scenes and has one expression through out 7 episodes, often gets into candid conversations with suspects and body language is very docile.

There is no explosion of the emotions even when ghastly crimes are committed. Where was the outburst?

Only noticeable work is done by Ayesh Jhulka, Kavya Trehan and Jaimini Pathak.

I am not sure if I will even watch season 2 and if I did then it will be on FF mode.

Ravi.

The power of filmmaking put to GREAT use!
drsravantisharma27 September 2022
I am not the kind who posts reviews on movies or web series but I couldn't help myself do it for #HushHush. #HushHush is one of the BEST creations since the web series have become a phenomenon that is worth bingewatching. Extremely sensitive topics that are intricately intertwined brought out in the most unexpected ways. They reveal themselves very very gradually until the last bit of the final episode.

It is predictable in some instances, may not be engaging initially and it picks up momentum only slowly. However, it is an honest depiction throwing light on some of the crucial modern-day ills, the longterm fallout of which are technically well depicted as well. It shows that the makers have done their homework really well, combined with a masterclass acting, screenplay and editing - it deserves a 10/10. Having said that, the portrayal of a couple of characters isn't perfect but I feel it can be ignored in the overall schema of things.

Kudos to the entire team! Eagerly awaiting its second season. :)
