This is a 1910 short comedy by George Bernard Shaw featuring William Shakespeare as he attempts to rendezvous with his coveted "Dark Lady" of his sonnets, only to instead be met by a Beefeater and Queen Elizabeth I. The Queen demands that he should apologize to her, but Shakespeare insists that his family is more respectable than hers and that she only has her job by accident of birth. The Dark Lady is shocked by Shakespeare's frankness, but the queen forgives him.

Described by Shaw as a "sample of what can be done with even the most hackneyed stage framework with an observed touch of actual humanity", this play blurs the lines of infidelity and being caught by a better half. He (Henry Apjohn) and She (Aurora Bompas) conceive a plan to hide their affair from Her Husband (Teddy Apjohn).
