Abhilash realizes that no matter how determined he is, it's really tough to crack UPSC and he can't be overly optimistic with his dream of becoming an IAS officer. He realizes that he needs a Plan B.

Abhilash and Dhairya are now spending time in each other's room, often sleeping over. Abhilash has a dream that both of them did not clear UPSC, but Abhilash holds her hand and is happy.

SK gets anxious over the upcoming Prelims examinations. SK says that he does not have a plan B if he does not get selected. This is his last attempt and if he does not make the cut, he will need to do something with his life. Abhilash also realizes that he does not have a Plan B.

Pragati clears the PCS exams and gives up on UPSC. Guri says that she wanted to be a civil servant and has achieved her dream. She has started ignoring Guri. Guri says that relationships of Rajinder Nagar are restricted to that time and space.

Abhilash was on sabbatical from his software engineering company. Now that his sabbatical period is over, he is asked to return to work within a week or resign. Actually, the sabbatical was for 12 months, but the company is calling him back after 6 months since they have a critical project that needs to be delivered. Abhilash's boss (Darius Chinoy) refuses to consider any arguments from Abhilash. Dhairya says that her Plan A is work on drug prevention by clearing UPSC, and Plan B is to work on drug prevention without clearing UPSC.

Sandeep went home for a week. He comes back and tells Abhilash that he is engaged. He says that he used to be a teacher in a government school where he met Kusum. Their families were ready for the marriage. But Sandeep wanted to be an IAS. He begged Kusum's family to hold her marriage for 1 year, but it has been 4 years now. Sandeep missed being selected in UPSC final list by 1 mark. Even Sandeep is worried that if he doesn't crack the exam this time, he does not have a Plan B. Sandeep did not have the money to afford coaching and his family is already in a lot of debt. The choice was between taking coaching or letting his family having a decent meal for 1 year. Sandeep says that Plan B is for losers.

SK and Pema discuss the scenario when the boyfriend is selected in UPSC, the girlfriend is not. It can also be the other way around. They could both be selected but in different services. Even if both are selected for IAS, they could be a different cadre. Old Rajinder Nagar relationships are doomed for failure.

Abhilash resigns from his job. He tells Dhairya that in Tom and Jerry, Jerry always won as he had no Plan B. He was fighting for his survival. Abhilash says that Dhairya is his Plan B. He breaks up with Dhairya as he does not want a Plan B and become complacent. He also adds that Old Rajinder Nagar relationships have no future. Dhairya leaves and cries bitterly.

Abhilash appears for the Prelims exam with countless other aspirants. The results are declared, and Abhilash doesn't make it. Shockingly, Sandeep also fails to make the cut.

In the present, Guri is alarmed that Abhilash Is hanging on to Dhairya's spectacles for the last 7 years. SK tries to play it down by saying that Abhilash is a cheapskate. SK tells Guri not to complicate things. SK and Guri were in the loo having this conversation. They return to find that Abhilash had left without saying goodbye. Guri gets livid at SK for being insulted by Abhilash. SK pushes back hard saying that both Guri and Abhilash are at fault for the current state of affairs. He says that both of them are incapable of facing their respective truths.

Guri drives to Abhilash's home. Guri confronts Abhilash for leaving without saying anything. Guri taunts Abhilash that he doesn't have a girlfriend as perhaps she also came in the way of Abhilash's duty. Abhilash says that Guri is only marrying Dhairya to take revenge on Abhilash.

Guri says that Abhilash had no clue what Dhairya was doing for the last 6 years. He says that SK had faith on Abhilash that he would let bygones be bygones. Guri wants Abhilash to bury the past and come to the wedding. Abhilash says that Guri is wrong and is doing a despicable thing and refuses to attend the wedding. Guri says that Abhilash was only faking the positive approach. He says that Abhilash's approach to life was always negative.
