Exclusive: Judy Greer (White House Plumbers) and Pete Holmes (Crashing) have entered production in Winnipeg on The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, an inspirational comedy that The Chosen‘s Dallas Jenkins is helming for Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company.
Co-starring in the pic, based on the international bestseller by Barbara Robinson, is Molly Belle Wright (Deep Water).
The film centers on the Herdman kids, who are the absolute worst. They lie, they steal, they bully… and they’ve hijacked the town Christmas pageant. As the rowdy and raucous siblings force themselves into all of the lead roles, they drive the pageant’s director, Grace (Judy Greer), and other members of her family, including husband Bob (Holmes), up the wall. But through their misfit mischief, these unlikely messengers might turn out to be the ones to deliver the town’s sensational and moving portrayal of the true meaning of Christmas.

Pete Holmes has lined up his next comedy special, dropping Tuesday on Netflix.
“I Am Not For Everyone” features stories ranging from Holmes’ religious upbringing to quips about his newfound perspective as a first-time father. You can watch a trailer above.
“I opened for Bill Burr in 2004 in Peoria, Il, in my third year of standup. I did very poorly,” he tells Deadline. “After the show, not one person bought my merch, a bumper sticker that read ‘Yippie Ki Yay, Melonfarmer.’ I was humiliated. So you can imagine what a thrill it was when, nineteen years later, Bill said he wanted to produce my first Netflix special, I Am Not For Everybody. Thankfully, it seems Bill has a bad memory.”

Ciara and Russell Wilson’s team is getting a little bigger.
The singer and her NFL quarterback husband are expecting their third child together, a rep for Ciara confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
The singer and the football player hinted at the news on their social media accounts. They each posted the same video clip of Ciara dancing in a black-and-white silhouette as she turned around to reveal her baby bump. No one would argue that broadcast TV is booming in 2022, but on a show by show basis, things don’t look quite as bleak as they did a year ago.
Whereas in 2020-21, only one network series — The CW’s All American — grew both its total audience and adults 18-49 rating, several shows managed the feat in the 2021-22 season, according to Nielsen’s final seven-day ratings for the season. The gainers were led by the top two shows on TV, NBC’s Sunday Night Football (18 million viewers, 5.0 rating in 18-49) and Fox’s Thursday Night Football (15.4 million, 4.3), which posted decent improvements in both measures.
The Monday edition of American Idol (6.99 million viewers, 1.0 in 18-49) and several other sports franchises, including ABC’s Saturday college football and NBA showcases, also had gains in both viewers and the key ad demographic. NBC’s Law...

This is still early stages, but Magnum P.I. fans might have hope that the Season 4 finale isn’t going to be the end. The drama was one of several shows canceled by CBS on May 12 — Good Sam, How We Roll, and B Positive also got the ax that day — and according to Deadline, Universal Television began to see if it could live on elsewhere. (Magnum P.I. is produced by Universal and CBS Studios.) CBS dramas Evil and Seal Team have made the move over to Paramount+, but according to the report, NBC or USA Network are “the focus… as a viable option” and “conversations are progressing and are now in advanced stages.” Because it is a coproduction, CBS Studios has to be part of the conversation, but those talks have reportedly “not started yet.” There is a ticking clock on this, however, with the cast’s contracts expiring at the end of June.

CBS is switching some things up on its fall schedule, it has been announced.
The Eye network on Wednesday unveiled its schedule, revealing big changes.
S.W.A.T. is headed back to Fridays at 8 p.m., where it spent half of last season before moving to Sundays.
The series was a hit on Fridays, so the move makes sense.
Fire Country, starring Seal Team's Max Thieriot, will launch Fridays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
Veteran drama Blue Bloods will remain in the 10 p.m. slot on Fridays.
NCIS: LA is also on the move, shifting an hour later to make way for new cop drama East New York.
The Equalizer will remain in the 8 p.m. slot on Sundays.
Wednesdays is an all-reality event, with The Real Love Boat joining in the fun at 10 p.m. out of The Amazing Race.
Survivor will remain at 8 p.m.
Mondays and Tuesdays remain unchanged.

News of the Magnum P.I. cancellation after four seasons took fans by surprise when it was announced last week.
The series was a decent performer in its fourth season for CBS, averaging 7.3 million total viewers and a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49 with a week of DVR factored in.
Even more surprising was that the show was relatively stable year to year, meaning that a renewal was expected.
CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl opened up about the decision Wednesday to TV Line.
“You have some tough decisions to make and you have lots of factors — and I’m not going to rule [the licensing fee] out as one of them," he told the outlet.
"It was a great team to work with, and one of the tougher decisions we had to make.”
The numbers for the show were strong, so it is possible that the series could return in some capacity.
"All good thing must come to an end.

For the first time in a decade (‘member when Person of Interest used to air at 9?), CBS’ newly released fall schedule features only two sitcoms on Thursday, with Young Sheldon and Ghosts — TV’s top two comedies — leading into the freshman dramedy So Help Me Todd, followed by Season 2 of CSI: Vegas.
The shift was largely dictated by the fact that CBS cancelled United States of Al, B Positive and How We Roll, while greenlighting zero new sitcoms for the 2022-23 season.
