NOW GO DO THAT VOODOO THAT YOU DO SO WELL!!!
djozone0011 December 2021
The Child's Play universe plays by its own rules that continues to bend expectations. It was new, it was campy, it was brutal, and it was right where it needed to be.

Chucky is the show we need to remind us that when you have an idea that can still be explored past the first film, then many people will support and that's been clearer throughout the years.

My oh my this was the best episode of the season. This series has plenty of room to grow, with some of the writing and slightly better acting, but honestly I can't wait to keep continuing the journey with these characters.

Best episode of the season!

Hands down this was the most entertaining episode for me. It was filled with content, mystery and definitely worth the build up over the last few episodes. The final scene was everything the show needed, it was brilliant!

it's not the best episode but it's nice
carlosfm-242991 December 2021
There are things not very well done and some that leave a little to be desired, but it is fun and a decent ending to a show that was not expected much and ended up being decent. It is not the best episode and there are inconsistent things (and a bit of shame in some parts) but hey, I had a good time watching this series. I look forward to the second season.

The Fall of the Wheelers
wetmars2 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The part where Andy visits Junior's house had my heart racing, you know. The two have a lot in common for 40+ years, hell. What a nice reference that Chucky makes that his biggest weaknesses are guns, axes, fire, and industrial size fans. It was at least great to see Kyle having more of her screentime being a badass firing her gun at a random Chucky. That kill was amazingly gruesome. I at the same time don't and do blame her for drugging Jake and Lexy because it was likely for the army of Chucky's to easily kill them but on the other hand. It's hard to explain.

Back at Charles Lee Ray's old home. We see Tiffany coming back home. She wonders where Nica is hiding. Shortly, she eventually finds him and tries to drug possess her, but instead, they both have a short fight until Chucky and Junior come in interrupting the fight asking to see his army of 72 Good Guy dolls. We have a fun interaction where Chucky has any wonders if one of the 72 Good Guy dolls has a question. One of them asks: "what is the age limit?" Meanwhile, I was watching. I instantly said: "Good question." then Chucky said, "Now, that's a good question." Great timing! Chucky responds they should kill people above the age of six. I liked that little touch there since Chucky tried to kill Andy when he was six in the first movie. Another one asks a hilarious question, "what is a baby?". Chucky explains in some context until Nica regains control of her body. Chucky taunts Tiffany to kill her, but it seems like Tiffany has feelings for Nica. Chucky then tells Junior to do the work instead. As he is about to, Tiffanny uses a nail file decapitating Chucky. Now, that was oddly satisfying to watch. Chucky warns her that one of his armies will kill her no matter what.

The plot progresses as Tiffany sets up a laser-trigger device bomb that she and Glenda (( !!! )) made all those years ago. She places it near the door just in case anybody comes in to save the day, then Tiffany and Junior leave the household to prepare for the town hall theatre slaughter. Chucky's decapitated body gets up as the head tells it what to do which is to kill Devon. As he slowly moves to Devon. Andy comes to save the day rescuing him and beating the ever-living crap outta Chucky. Kyle appears in front of the doorstep opening the door which triggers the bomb to explode. At this moment. I thought that she died because no one can survive that close to a bomb, and felt bad for her and Andy as Kyle was protecting him in the second movie, and now Andy had to watch her die in the end who protected him if you know what I mean.

We finally get back to Jake and Lexy waking up only to find a news article on their phones reporting that there was an explosion in the same house, they realized that Devon was inside the house strongly implying that Devon died in the explosion. I fell for it again. The scene of them crying was overwhelmingly emotional as they watched many of their loved ones die and shows how well-executed the effects of Chucky & Tiffany killing someone can seriously impact someone's innocent life to have emotional & psychological pain. However, of course, Jake is relieved when he sees Devon again. Devon explains to Jake about Chucky's final plan to release 72 Chucky's to invade Hackensaw.

Back at the town hall, Lexy's Mom as the Mayor announces to the audience that Jennifer Tilly will transport 72 authentic Good Guy dolls immediately after the show to the nearest airport to give them to needful sick children around the world. Caroline whines that she wants Chucky, but her mom tells him that the 72 Good Guy dolls are for sick children. But, Tiffany decides to give her one for her to stop whining. Lexy is there, too. She turns around and realizes Junior needs help as Chucky is on his back. She rushes for him, only to be lured backstage. Meanwhile, as the audience watches the movie. They eventually get to the scene where Frankenstein drowns a young girl. (( "Fun" fact: a lot of controversies went down as this scene was "too upsetting" which lead some of the states to censor it. )) The chaos begins as Chucky says "This is my favorite part." (( lel. )), then crawls under the chairs stabbing the audience through their... yeah, you know what. Starting with Lexy's dad, I felt bad for him as he was a decent dad taking care of Caroline. Michelle grabs popcorn from him, not realizing that there's blood on it. She takes a bite, realizing it, then screams making everyone flee as 50% of them die from Chucky. I have to say, what a great scene that fills up the horror.

Caroline still watches the movie until Devon rescues her. Meanwhile, Junior is convincing Lexy to be together again, and be Chucky's friend. As this scene was going on. I honestly thought that Lexy was going to die as two against one is not pretty. Eventually, Lexy tells Junior that he's better than that which makes him fight back against Chucky stabbing him and making the knife go deeper into Chucky's chest. Too bad, he got a fatal stab. As Junior falls, Lexy catches him. How poetic. "But if you fall... this time I'll catch you." Junior was an okay character after all. He was mostly an azzhole, always bullying Jake, mostly annoying. Although, I did feel bad for him seeing his mother's corpse. There isn't anything to talk much about him, to be honest. Of course, he had a redemption arc, but that didn't make up for his bad actions though. 5-6/10 for him.

Jake screams out for Chucky to get his attention which succeeded. Chucky explains after his plan that when they think of Hackensack, they won't think about families, kids growing up to be Doctors or CEOs, or Instagram influencers. (( Screw them, lol. )) Instead, they will think of Hackensaw as a bad people like Camp Crystal Lake and Haddonfield. Jake makes a run for it as Chucky chases for him successfully slicing his leg, and having the upper hand until Jake pushes him, grabbing him by the throat, and squeezes out his god damn eyeballs. I have to say that Chucky being eyeless is utterly terrifying.

Jake, Devon leave the theatre only to learn that Lexy tells them that Junior died. We see Andy taking captive of the truck, and we finally get to see Andy having the first-ever face-to-face with Tiffany, flipping her off. I was wishing for him to run over Tiffany, but I guess they are saving her for Season 2. As Andy was driving, I thought he was going to self-sacrifice himself. But Nah. In the truck, we see the DOLL TIFFANY BREAKING A WINDOW aiming her gun at Andy telling him to drive. Man, this felt like a fan-service treat for us fans.

Jake, Devon, and Lexy visit Junior's grave, paying their respect. Meanwhile, a black glove is watching them from a tree. I am going to strongly assume that this was Kyle as she wasn't counted in Chucky's kill count. But, we will get to that. In the end, we see Nica screaming in terror after realizing she has lost her arms and legs again. Although Nica was barely used in Season 1, let's hope that she will have more screen time next season. We finally wrap up for the finale as Chucky does a "Dead Meat moment" kill counting everyone who died. Yes, including the poor kitty.

WHAT A EPIC FINALE! Mostly filled with clever writing, brilliant new characters with character development, emotional scenes, big twists, fun entertainment with kills, humor, and a lot of suspense throughout eight weeks. I am looking forward to Season 2. I am speculating that it probably won't focus on the kids as Chucky said they got their happy ending, but focus on Andy, Kyle, Chucky, Nica, and Tiffany.

10/10.

A funny, bloody blast!
lareval2 December 2021
In my opinion, this series has gave us Chucky's finest hours ever. Period. Not even the original movies had such vigorous sense of thrill, fun and bloody joy. Kudos to Don Mancini, he knew how to mix all the mythology and give it a stunning continuation. As a series, even with a cliffhanging ending, this season finale works wonderfully. Everything was superb, entertaining and left me completely satisfied. I started to watch the first episode without really wanting it and this first season ended up one of this year biggest and most pleasent surprises to me. Long live (*this) Chucky!

P. S.: Let's Hope they don't screw it up with the upcoming Season Two.

The best episode of the series. Chucky made me laugh so bad at the end, making his summary of the entire season, sitting comfortably in his armchair. Can't wait for season 2!

Teo Briones

Teo Briones has shown what a talented young actor he is.

Many young actors and actresses from this series will direct cinema and straming projects in the future.

Also ; Being so faithful to the essence of a story and being so innovative at the same time is a great achievement.

Epic finale
funnycommentor30 July 2022
The plot of the last episode was very interesting, because everything was coming to an end. I liked the ending episode, it was very intense, kinda unexpected and the killcount was HUGE. The ending scene was unexpected and there were many unanswered questions that need to be answered on season 2! Overall, I enjoyed the show. It was very bloody, funny and iconic. The killcount was descent, most kills were so bloody and gory. Also, it was very funny, especially Chucky's scenes. The casting was nice and the acting was good. The storyline of the show was well-written, kinda different than the movies. It wasn't scary, but it had some creepy vibes. The filming location of the movie was okay. That's all. Can't wait for season 2!

This Episode is good but I hated Nica's ending!

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed seeing All That Battle at the Cinema, the Chucky Clones talking to each other, and also the reappearance of Andy and Tiffany Doll at the end, but Nica's ending was harrowing. It was so horrible to see her screaming when she realized that Tiffany had amputated her arms and legs!

I enjoyed the Chucky series overall but I didn't care for the finale. It just didn't have the final showdown with Andy and Chucky that I would have hoped would take place.

awesome show

Warning: Spoilers
Dude, this was a great season.. after watching hawkeye and the slow buildup and the modern cliches nowadays with the male lead always being kinda dumb and either trying to get the female approval or just by being incompent somehow and needing his female sidekick to save him even tho he was supposed to be more skilled..

this show was refreshing nobody was saved except the lead, boyfriend and blondie.. i think everybody was 100% they were not going to die but who would have imagined they would kill pretty much all the grown ups, even the school principal lol pretty much the only one still kicking is the barbara alyn woods and the chesmitry teacher but she pretty much vanished after getting arrested and she also did not have much screen time during the whole show but they hinted at some dark past when she interrogated

junior becoming a psycho after feeling left out and because of daddy issues was expected.. but him turning ok and saving blondie... well, pure plot armor but ok

in this show we ignore inconsistencies simply because it is a fun show.. if the first person who saw chucky just did what jake did to finish off chucky, well the show would have finished in the first episode.. hell, in the first 5 minutes people got shocked from seing a talking doll and suddenly they cannot defend themselves and just stand there waiting to get stabbbed... survival instincts 0, chucky knife 10

lol good season overall.. the cliffhanger was andy and the other dolls but i wonder what they will come up with to stick the kids together.. after all, jake and devon dont have parents or relatives alive in town anymore.

JUST OKAY - (6 stars out of 10)
BJG-Reviews8 December 2021
The stage curtains open ...

Season One ended on this episode, "An Affair to Dismember", and now that it's all over, I still don't really know what to make of it. Most of the questions that came up during the series were answered, though some of them not so satisfactorily. Honestly, I'm glad it's done now and I can move on to something else. It had its moments, and it definitely has its flaws.

As I mentioned in my review for the episode before this one, we spend about half the time at the childhood home of Charles Lee Ray and the other half at the town theater for their Frankenstein event - hosted by none other than Jennifer Tilly. Chucky's elaborate plan becomes known which did lead to a memorable moment and garnered a couple of laughs. The reasoning behind everything, however, once the plot was exposed, was pretty lame and ill conceived - and not explained. It just "is" and we have to accept it.

Chucky goes on a last killing spree in Hackensack, at least for this season, and the body count grows. I won't say who surives and who dies, but if Hackensack doesn't make the national news after this series of events, then yeah.... I admit that some of the visuals in this episode were pretty good, and I did enjoy the backdrop of the original Frankenstein movie in some of the scenes.

I would say this episode effectively tied up the loose ends and left just enough to spill over into the next season, but overall, I wasn't that impressed. Chucky himself greets us before the final credits roll with a small commentary, similar to the Cryptkeeper from the Tales From The Crypt. I give this final episode 6 stars out of 10.

Just bad.
aquawatersocks1 December 2021
So many loose ends, so many logical inconsistencies, bad visual/practical effects, some of the child actors were just awful, and just lazy screenwriting overall.

The whole season was great.

As a classic horror fan, seeing Karloff's 'Frankenstein" on the screen while the mayhem in the theater played out was a treat. The finale was appropriate and surprising! "Storybook Theater" with Chucky as our host!

I know there is a second season just around the corner and from the preview pic on IMDB and credits I see our three main humans are back. But is Chucky still hanging around Hackensack? I do not think so with all his figurines dead there and the 72 Good Buy Dolls off to points unknown (unless Andy stops them in spite of doll Tiffany holding a gun on him); it does not seem he'd be back going after Jake,Devon, and Lexy.

But who knows?

Having 72 Chucky's around is not very entertaining to me. I hope that line is dropped and only one remains. One Chucky with one Tiff has worked so well prior. 72 Chucky's in 72 locations or even in one location would be chaotic - esp if only our three heroes know the scoop!

Very fun and great way to end a great season! [8/10]

Warning: Spoilers
My Reaction / Review for Chucky Season 1 Episode 8: Episode 7 was awesome and I gave it a rating of 8/10. Lol Junior and Chucky making fun of Andy's height, these two are a team now. Chucky now controls so many dolls, it will be impossible to be defeated. Chucky's crime family keeps getting bigger. I want Nica to break the spell and not be under Chucky's influence, that would be interesting. Tiffany chooses Nica over Chucky? What's going on? Is Devon dead? Probably not, I think he got outside of the house before the explosion. Yup, he is alive. He killed Lexy's dad? Wow, he is going to kill as many as possible. Andy now has the van with all the Chucky dolls, interesting. The Tiffany doll appears? Yes! Tiffany removed all the limbs from Nica? That's so distubing. Overall a great episode to end a great season. My rating is 8/10.

True To Tradition, With Modern Twists - S01 Review
JoshuaMercott17 August 2022
In addition to using traditional elements from the original Chucky movie franchise - which began with the 1988 "Child's Play" and included seven other titles - "Chucky" season one brought entertainment, horror, suspense, and humour in good measure.

Directors Don Mancini, Dermott Downs, Leslie Libman, Samir Rehem, and Jeff Renfroe did notable work. Writers Don Mancini, Harley Peyton, Nick Zigler, Sarah Acosta, Mallory Westfall, Kim Garland, Rachael Paradis, and Isabella Gutierrez scripted a remarkable S01 that was as nostalgic as it was detailed.

Joseph LoDuca's musical scoring was outstanding. Great soundtracks too. Colin Hoult's cinematography was superb. Great work on editing, set decoration, and production design. VFX and art direction, along with CGI, were amazing. Hair-makeup and costume design were both noteworthy.

The practical effects and puppeteering team did exceptional work bringing Chucky to life in ways that reminded me so much of 'movie magic' from the 80s. In some sequences, Chucky was physically performed by Nick A. Fisher, who did great work at that.

Jake Wheeler, played by Zackary Arthur, was good. Devon Evans, played by Bjorgvin Arnarson, was great. Lexy Cross, played by Alyvia Alyn Lind, was amazing. Wheeler Jr., played by Teo Briones, was good.

Both Logan and Luke Wheeler were double-acted by Devon Sawa, who was amazing - his 'bad dad' version, though brief, was outstanding. Detective Evans, played by Rachelle Casseus, was good. Miss Fairchild, played by Annie Briggs, was also good.

Nica Pierce, played by Fiona Dourif, was great - a comeback performance from "Cult of Chucky" (2017). Tiffany Valentine, played by Jennifer Tilly, was good - she was not new to the "Chucky" franchise either, and did notable work in "Bride of Chucky" (1998).

Young Charles Lee Ray was played by David Kohlsmith and Tyler Barish, who were both quite good. Bree Wheeler, played by Lexa Doig, was good. Mayor Michelle Cross, played by Barbara Alyn Woods, was good. Caroline Cross, played by Carina Battrick, was noteworthy. Kyle, played by Christine Elise, was great. Andy Barclay, played by Alex Vincent, was good.

I can't be remiss and leave out the voice of 'Good Guy Doll' Chucky. Brad Dourif returned after all these years to make this possible. He made season 1 unforgettable simply by being part of the production. There was a sinister 'energy' in the man's voice that cannot be replaced.

All other cast and crew did good work in "Chucky" Season 1, streaming now on SYFY.

I was glad to learn that season 2 "Chucky" was greenlit, which was the main reason I even decided to watch S01. Because who'd have wanted to have a childhood horror-memory sliced and diced like one of Chucky's victims by getting a terrible 2k-era series. The Conjuring's Annabelle has nothing on this little monster, whose doll-bod in truth housed the soul (after a voodoo soul transfer spell) of serial killer Charles Lee Ray.

A few convenient plot-points aside, season 1 of "Chucky" turned out great. It held fast to its core story arc, provided good backstory, and did not deviate too much from its core arc. Some of the acting could have been better, though.

The series also contained strong 80s vibes, and that's never a bad thing. This 8-episode series was memorable, and it made me wish I started it sooner. The finale held great promise and set the stage for "Chucky" season 2. That direct-to-audience talk from Chucky was to die for, pun intended.

The original "Child's Play" held plenty of scary and fond memories for me growing up. My grandmother used to have life-life dolls of all shapes and sizes, and watching this movie back in the day made me dread paying her a visit. Now that I've 'all grown up', watching this notable adaptation made me realize that Chucky still has the power to send chills down my spine.

Did I just watch a teen Rom-Com show?
Laqshayaroraofficial1 December 2021
I really loved the cast and the concept of this show, also the last few episodes were really entertaining but I thought the finale episode was slightly boring. This show is already illogical (Chucky kills other people in seconds but when it comes to lead characters he keeps laughing till some one saves the lead character) and predictable (We know nothing will happen to the lead characters) but still I liked this show until they made the finale episode kinda like a rom-com of Jake and Devon. I thought in the finale episode they will reveal more about Chucky's life, make it more sensible, more entertaining, more interesting but nothing like that happened. Overall a Disappointing finale of a good tv show.
