When Meg is dancing with the cat in her room, the scene is a direct spoof of the 1980s movie, Fright Night, down to the song, dance, and moves the cat makes on Meg. In the film, vampire Jerry Dandridge (Chris Sarandon) does the subsequent dance with Amy, (Amanda Bearse) which is meant to hypnotize her (a power that Vampires were said to have).
When Meg dances with the cat the song playing is "Everybody Everybody" by Black Box, but the part that Pouncey sings was sampled from the song "Shaniqua" by Oran 'Juice' Jones.
