As a David Morrissey fan, he is the honest reason I watch this show. The show is just okay on its own. They spend too much time with characters who don't matter, and not enough with those who do. Aulus is the main baddy, but he's hardly even in it. The other characters spend a lot of time talking about "The Roman Devil" but all he does is ride his horse for 5 seconds, then at the end of the episode, gets another 10 seconds of screen time doing absolutely nothing.
I honestly feel there are too many characters they're trying to make us feel something for, but instead, make it hard to really care for any of them. I would prefer fewer characters who were well developed. This might allow viewers to actually feel concern for them in a dangerous situation. For a minute, I hoped that would be Amena. But they've removed all the relatability and respect she earned in season 2.
