Kathmandu Connection has many interesting elements in its storyline, it is loosely based on the much done subject of the early 2000s, The Dawood Ibrahim-Chota Rajan rivalry set as the backdrop and a cop story in the foreground. Despite some good actors, a nice technical team and a decent run time, Kathmandu Connection is let down and botched up royally by the screenplay department singlehandedly.

Cinematography is neat throughout the six episode mini series. Editing is good in keeping the total runtime to just over 200 minutes. Screenplay is a big downer that lets down all other good work quite sadly. Production design, though they have worked hard for the 1990s look, there are some glaring errors like LCD tvs and cell phones that were non existent in the early 90s. Costumes and makeup was average along with the music. On the acting front Amit Sial shines with very little support from the other actors in the series. His portrayal of a DCP is pretty accurate.

Overall, though the series has some elements based on real events, like the fallout between Dawood Ibrahim-Chota Rajan just after the 1993 Bombay serial blasts, their all out gang war, the assassination of Nepali MP Mirza beg, the lack of further research and some lazy writing hurts Kathmandu Connection big time. The series is still of watchable quality despite its huge shortcomings, sans major expectations. 5.8 stars out of 10 for Kathmandu Connection for its honest attempt to try something new in the place of a regular run a mill story. Watch it only when you have absolutely nothing else to do.

The series goes in a slow and steady motion

The story is nothing new but the execution was good and the director carried in a better way ..accurate costumes and props were used to define 90s with soothing background scores

All the actors played their roles in a very good way but it would be better if the series had some thrilling scenes or catchy dialogues..they turned the series in last episodes thus giving a new climax

Great show.... Amit sial is rocking on ott platform... Casting is very good... Pace aachi h show ki... Climax is good... I loved the show.

The show was only meant to show the police in bad light and a particular community in a good one. There seems to be a sudden rise of these kind of shows off late and when pointed out, then playing the victim card.

There is a freedom of speech and we have a choice of whether to watch it or not but I didn't expect this from SonyLiv which has produced some classy shows till now. A big thumbs down.

The plot was great from starting to end. Loved how they showcased an old story but u gonna love it only if u see it as a series but not like a true event . You'll love everything about it from a good ending too plot twists. Loved it.

Season 2: It's Very Good Performance. Specially Amit Seal & Prashant Narayanan & Anshuman Pushkar & Harleen Shethi & Aksha Pandasany Did Outstanding Acting.

Good suspense till the end..... One time watch.

Gripping storyline. I hope second season will have some more good in it. Waiting for the second season to come......

Another attempt to demonize police & security agencies.

I don't know the reason for negative reviews and mediocre ratings. I thoroughly enjoyed tge series. The final episode was definitely the show stealer. A must watch for crime & suspense lovers.

With predecided twists, the convincing dots are missing. Given that this is a series, characters could have been given more justifications for their actions.

Editing is sloppy and some scenes are old cliches.

If you don't watch it... You're not missing anything... If anything else to do.. watch it in fwd mode.

They were trying to prove our Police and Investigating agencies are working on kind of unauthorised and unlawful activities.

And promoting love jihad and religious conversion.

Good series One time obviously watchable Mindblowing performance by Amit sial Waiting for season 2.

End is pathetic. Not watchable. Only wastage of time. Makers tried best to put police in wrong side and terrorist in good side. But it did not work.

Plot- felt it's an old one Execution- brilliant!

Acting- they really helped the series.

Bgm- should have been more intriguing Cinematography- good.

Propaganda show. Bollywood is becoming unbearable day by day.

Featuring a gamut of talented actors like Amit Sial, Gopal Dutt, Aksha Pardasany and Anshuman Pushkar with the amazing Sneha Khanwalkar who created an eargasmic background score that took the show to another level, is treat for those audience who loves mystery and suspense.

An overzealous police officer DCP Samarth Kaushik, played by Amit Sial along with his associate, Shravan Mishra (Anurag Arora) is out to nab the gangsters responsible for a hotelier's kidnapping. On the other side, a CBI officer, Hitesh Aggarwal (Gopal Dutt) is investigating a murder of a businessmen. Also, a prim time news anchor, Shivani Bhatnagar is being stalked and getting blank calls. The writer has very creatively blended all the three stories to common point in a Casino, which is run by Sunny Sharma (Anshuman Pushkar) in Kathmandu, which establishes "KATHMANDU CONNECTION".

Talking about the acting, Amit Sial had just created the magic, that people wants. Other lead actors like Anurag Arora, Anshuman Pushkar and Aksha Pardasany, are brilliant in their respective roles.

The final episode of the series is just mind-blowing, where the real story behind the investigation comes out. Kathmandu Connection is a gripping thriller that keeps you on your toes as the narrative covers 3 parallel investigations across borders. But, once you start watching this series, you can't take your eyes off. There should definitely be a 2nd Season for this, as DCP Samarth Kaushik cannot be behind bars for a long time.

Web Series Review ( A Blast from the past) : Kathmandu Connection Seasons 1&2 streaming on Sony LIV

An under-rated web series for sure . The first season premiered sometime in 2021 and the Second in 2022.

Season 1 This story starts off with the investigation of the 1993 Bombay Blasts. As the cops probe deeper to unravel new clues,things get complicated with mysterious murder of the investigating officer; the kidnapping of a hotelier and the stalking of a journalist. The mystery lies in the connection these three different cases share with Kathmandu.

Season 2 The story begins with the infamous hijacking of IS-814 as it takes off from Kathmandu. As the investigation opens, a risk of a bigger international conspiracy is discovered. Investigating agencies are deployed to curb the possibility of the threat. On the other hand, a dreaded criminal is on the run and he joins hands with the mastermind of the conspiracy. All possibilities of a connection are traced back to Kathmandu. How will this cat and mouse chase end ?

The recurring cast : Amit Sial as DCP Samarth Kaushik is brilliant as the investigating offer in the first season and a freelance investigator in the second. Brilliant in both seasons.

Aksha Pardasany as journalist Shivani Bhatnagar as the feisty investigative journalist who tries to uncover the sinister plans of the terrorists. Well written role , great performance too 👍

Prashant Narayanan as Wajid ( Dawood Ibrahim) is the puppeteer pulling all the strings and carrying out his sinister plans. With a stupendous performance in films like Murder 2 , he has given a restrained, yet powerful performance here !!

Anshumaan Pushkar as Gangster Sunny who is head over heels in love with Shivani Bhatnagar adds a touch of romance in this action saga. Sometimes it seems a bit cliched but kya karen bollywood hai bhai 😁. He has acted in web series like Grahan and Jamtaara and given noteworthy performances!!

All the above 4 characters are the mainstay of the series and their performances r worth appreciating.

Season 2 was definitely more engaging than the first but both seasons with 6 episodes each per season are a bingewatch worthy option for the weekend!!

I am a big fan of Amit Sial.. Story wise good series though it promotes Love Jihad and has defamed Police.. I found it interesting.. Waiting for 2 nd season as it won't be the end here.. Police can't be Terrorist.. Samar Kaushik will be back ❤❤

Kathmandu Connection is an average series . It might be a little bit boring but the ending is good .So, don't expect too much .
