I can't believe
moov_e_c_er14 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can't believe some of the other viewers commenting and sounding like they support racism. The fact this show stars (and is producer) is a proud black man has some people up in arms, especially when they complain episodes about racism are too political or too far out of context and want instead empty mindless drama. Y'all don't think racism is real and you want people to shut up about it? Get real, open your eyes and start seeing things for what they actually are. There are racists out there doing harm to everyone around them. There are some people also known as police who agree with such racism but yet they don't believe they are consciously going after one or multiple races: they just find them suspicious, arrest them, and try to get them imprisoned to get them off the street. Yes people of all races commit crimes so it's not like everyone is innocent either, but not everyone is a criminal and most do not commit criminal acts.

As for the episode I did find it a strain to just expect one cop who is not Internal Affairs to do that department's job. Logically he should have did as he did and go to his direct command, then almost immediately go to next command up and then to IA: that is the definition and reason for chain of command. I give this episode a 6 based on overall story, reasonable reactions, moments of realistic dialogue (some was preachy as best storytelling is usually show don't tell) and overall performance: it had room for improvement but it made a story arch (beginning, middle, end) that can lead and go hand in hand with the rest of the show.

Bravo S.W.A.T

Warning: Spoilers
Of all the social justice episodes I've watched this season in different shows the last two episodes of S. W. A. T has been the best in the context of TV(writing). The Deacon and Durham thing actually makes for a good watch and something to look forward to. Its not to preachy(I don't mind it) but its intense. Exposing a racist cop instead of just say the system is broken makes it feel like something is being done. This is 'tangible'

I criticized S. W. A. T. for some of the earlier episode but they are delivering a good end to this season and there might be something big with street to.

7.5 for this episode.

MAGA

Warning: Spoilers
Most of the reviews on here are obviously MAGA and ginger idiot supporters. What's the matter with a drama reflecting society? Especially the devided society that is the USA.

Politics and Social Justice over plot
jdgtc16 May 2021
Enjoy the show. Still make a point to watch weekly. No doubt that equity is important. However, the non stop social justice message is taking away from the plot and future story lines. Stop being woke. Just make entertaining television.

It's no longer SWAT
spikeluvr7 May 2021
It's Man Undercover. Now the white supremacists are so pervasive we need SWAT cops serving undercover to expose them. When will Hondo go undercover in BLM?

Since it seems like none of them actually work for SWAT anymore.

Just stick to entertainment!!!
ronodugo7 May 2021
I just want to enjoy a T. V show (S. W. A. T) without having to listen political issues, such as BLM, Woke...etc. I get enough of it from CNN.

The Social Justice Gets Worse With Each Episode
chris_patx20 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
There has been heavy racial lecturing this season but this one is really pushing it. Hondo expects a cop to give up his career, and maybe his life, just to serve the political and racial stance Hondo has. Has Hondo never seen Serpico? When you become the undercover rat, no one trusts you and no one has your back. The reason is no one is pure. Everyone has flaws, and while some are less than others, everyone has some and a fear of it being exploited to the point of being fired. As usual in today's world, the white men are at fault. It starts with two white officers stopping Tan as he pursues a bank robber, because the Asian guy has to be the bad guy. Then the successful builder and landlord is the bad guy because he is still trying to get rent money and can't just be giving free housing to those who can't make rent or utility payments. When are they going to make entertainment again, instead of social lecturing? When is SWAT actually going to do some SWAT police work? Are all other LAPD only around to provide racist backdrop and to be shot so SWAT can be the heroes? All I can say is that this show isn't has thick with the social justice as New Amsterdam, which I have dropped as a result.

Wish this show would do ONE thing differently
dehanmeerholz6 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So episode 15 follows what was set up in the previous episode. About how Lee and his two friends are racists cops. Spoilers ahead... Deacon and Hando spend the most of the episode disagreeing over how to handle it. Hondo gives several lectures about racism and how hard black people have it, again. Until then end when Deacon "finally sees reasons" and secretly records Lee and the others saying racist things at their barbecue. Predictably Lee and his friends get suspended and are now under investigation. Also Deacon now has lost considerable respect from many of his fellow officers for doing this. All of this I sadly expected. I say sadly because as I mentioned above, wish this show would do ONE thing differently. Which is rehabilitate the racist. How many shows are out there where a bigoted character changes his view and gets redeemed? Can't think of any. Instead they either get killed, fired or sent to prison. I would love to have seen Lee get partnered with Hondo and he changes Lee's world view. I mean Hondo made so many speeches about making the lapd better about changing things. Why not try and change a racist cop instead of turning him into a villian, give him redemption. But no this show follows the same basic pattern. Doesn't do anything new.
