Nice Episode, reflects on the mentality of kids

Warning: Spoilers
This was a nice episode. The plot was really good and mysterious and the killer was not very easy to guess.

Also it was very good at showing how easily kids or even older people can be manipulated from someone who is clever with just a horror story.

The only thing that I didn't like was the last bit of Zachariah emerging from his grave as I find it a little weak to trick someone who invented the story and was clever enough to control all these kids like that so easily.

But it was a good episode and the acting of Simon Baker is very good as is the acting of the whole cast.It was a good penultimate episode before a great last episode of the first season.

The Z Krew
claudio_carvalho6 December 2021
When a teenager is found murdered wearing an ankle monitor after being buried alive, the CBI investigates the case. The victim is identified as Justin Prentiss, from the unconventional Bright Arch school, managed by the Principal Asher MacLean. Soon the CBI team learns that the school is for rebellious teenagers and the youths are submitted to punishment to indiscipline and meditation by the teachers. Patrick finds that the students are afraid of the legend of the lumberjack Zachariah, who lived in the spot centuries ago. Cho and Rigsby also find the grumpy neighbor Marshall Winston, whose house is vandalized by the teenagers. But Patrick once again plots a scheme to find the killer and to disclose dark secrets of the school.

"Blood Brothers" is another good episode of "The Mentalist". Once again, the cynical Patrick Jane and his naked truth steals the show. His lack of censorship or unembellished truth is one of the greatest attraction of this show. His dialog in the very beginning with Principal Asher MacLean and Chief Elaine Brody is highly entertaining. My vote is eight.

The tale of Zachariah
Tweekums24 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
When the body of a teenaged boy is discovered at Bright Arch, a small private school based in the woods, the CBI are called in. It quickly becomes obvious that he was murdered, it is also very apparent that Asher MacLean, the man who runs the school, does not see eye to eye with the local police. As the team investigate they discover that a small group of students, who call themselves the 'Z-Krew' have been tormenting a local recluse; they also learn the local ghost story involving Zachariah, a miner who had killed his colleagues before being burnt alive by locals over a century ago.

I really enjoyed this episode; the remote woodland setting added to the atmosphere and the central mystery was interesting. There are a good variety of suspects, one of whom turns out to be innocent of murder but guilty of another serious crime. The legend of Zachariah was rather fun; I liked that we never learn if the events in the story actually happened or it is just part of local mythology. The finale where Jane uses the legend to elicit a confession may have been a little farfetched but it was well handled and could cause some viewers to jump. As one would expect Simon Baker is on fine form as Jane; he provides plenty of laughs as he questions suspects in his own inimitable style. Overall a really good episode even by the standards of this fun series.
