Starring Shweta Tripathi, Anchal Singh and Tahir Raj Bhasin in the lead roles, the second season of Netflix’s Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein is pretty much a disaster. The shocking, slightly unusual premise might have garnered an audience in the first season, but unfortunately, the show misses an opportunity to deliver something exciting this time around. A girl obsessed with a boy who strongly believed that she always brought him bad luck was a silly premise that did not deserve to or even have the potential to return with another season, and it seems the creators were clueless about how the story should progress. It was a struggle for me to sit through the six episodes that at times made no sense at all.

The protagonist, Vikrant Singh Chauhan, had planned to murder his wife, Purva Awasthi, in season one. But instead of killing her, the contract killer Vikrant had hired abducted her.

Netflix’s Indian slate for this year includes a feature film about a group of drunk young men who crash a wedding, and a series about a plane hijacking.

Toplining the new titles is Wild Wild Punjab, a Luv Films feature from Simarpreet Singh written by Harman Wadala and Sandeep Jain. According to the longline, it follows “a group of drunk boys” who “avenge a friend’s breakup by crashing his ex’s wedding and achieve closure.”

Cast includes Varun Sharma, Sunny Singh, Manjot Singh, Jassie Gill, Patralekhaa and Ishita Raj.

Netflix unveiled its 2024 content slate targeting India’s expanding streaming market at a talent-packed gala event Tuesday in Mumbai. The company’s latest India lineup is notably diverse, spanning an array of genres across eight feature films and 14 series, but it’s also a slight step down in terms of volume compared to recent years (Netflix released as many as 40 original Indian titles in 2021).

Neeraj Pandey’s heist thriller “Sikandar Ka Muqaddar” spans 18 years and will be shot across multiple locations in India and internationally.

New scripted series include Anubhav Sinha and Trishant Srivastava’s thriller “Ic 814: The Kandahar Hijack.” On Dec. 24, 1999, Indian Airlines flight Ic 814, en route from Kathmandu to New Delhi, was hijacked and taken to Kandahar in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. The series tells the story of the hijack that lasted seven days. The massive cast includes Vijay Verma, Patralekhaa, Pankaj Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Arvind Swami and Dia Mirza.

Netflix is ringing in the new year in atypical fashion. Throughout 2021, the streaming giant’s original offerings swelled while its library titles shrunk. With its list of new releases for January 2022, however, Netflix is expanding its non-original market quite a bit.

Jan. 1 sees the arrival of a truly stunning amount of impressive non-Netflix movies and TV shows. The big titles available on the first of the month include: 300, Interview with the Vampire, Paranormal Activity, Superman Returns, Terminator 2, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and much more. Later on in the month, Netflix is also set to add Phantom Thread (Jan. 16) to its roster.

Actress Shweta Tripathi says after fully recovering from Covid-19 she felt motivated and fitter. She claims this is the fittest she has been in her life, adding that she has even gone ahead and shot for two projects post recovery.

"Post Covid, it's important not to go all-out aggressively on yourself in terms of working out. However, the right mindset needs to be there and it should be strong to stay motivated and to keep oneself fit," Shweta said.

Tahir Raj Bhasin posted a string of pictures getting his first vaccine shot for Covid-19. He got the jab in Manali, where he was shooting for an upcoming assignment.

Tahir posted the images from the vaccination centre on Instagram. In one photo, he is seen getting his shot, while other frames capture him waiting outside the vaccination centre, as well as snapshots of the centre itself.

"I waited accompanied by the smell of surrounding pine wood at a makeshift primary health centre in Jagatsukh, a tiny village one hour outside of Manali, (which is where I was shooting when lockdowns were announced and have been since). New Delhi, March 27 (Ians) Indian musicians, just like millions of fans of the rock band Strings, were shocked when the Pakistani group announced that they were "graciously concluding" their musical journey together after 33 years.

Palash Sen, frontman of the Delhi-based band Euphoria, who had collaborated with Strings for the song "Jeet lo dil" in the early 2000s, was one of the first to comment on the band's break up.
