sarathshiner30 April 2022
Wow I love these type of time travels, especially the one which you will be given a knot to release one by one, exploring episodes, character and finally getting a chance to reveal the last knot with full of surprises. I binged this series in a day and loved the way it moves with time travel and love. It's magic. Do watch it if you are an time travel fan.

The 7 Lives of Léa
Tweekums5 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As this French series opens a large group of teenagers are partying in and around a river. One of them is Léa; she walks away from the group and is about to take a large quantity of pills... she stops when she sees a skeleton partially buried in the sand; on its wrist is a silver bracelet. She goes to bed and when she wakes up she isn't herself... she isn't even a she! She has woken in 1991 in the body of Ismael, the boy whose body she found. It turns out he was a friend of her parents. When she/he goes to sleep again she wakes back in the present. This pattern repeats over the next six days with her alternating between a day in 1991, in a different body each time, and a day in the present. Over the week she learns more about Ismael and her parents' past. She determines to try to find a way to prevent his death.

I really enjoyed this series. It brought something new to the time travel genre along with providing an interesting mystery. Having Léa wake in a different body each time provided a means for her to learn more about the individuals as well as providing some amusing moments... especially when she wakes as a boy. There is a fair amount of sex but this isn't too gratuitous; it is understandable that she is curious about what it is like to be in a male body. The question of what happened to Ismael is intriguing; did he kill himself or was he murdered... if the latter was the case there are plenty of suspects. The locations used are impressively scenic. The cast is solid, bringing the various characters to life in a way that is believable within the fantastical nature of the series. Overall this is definitely worth a watch if you are looking for something a little different.

These comments are based on watching the series in French with English subtitles.

Watch for the writing, stay for the scenery
david_stever3 May 2022
Nicely written, with a group of actors I've never seen any of them before, and hours of breathtaking scenery. Is this the Rhône river? Is that the Ardeche Gorge? I don't know there's no credits anywhere as to where it was filmed, but it's utterly fantastic. The music is good- a series of flash backs to 30 years ago that was handled well.

You will not regret watching this, it's very entertaining!

Its been a long time since i binge watched a tv series, but i gotta say this series got me hooked from the start to the end, i watched the entire show in one weekend and i still have a taste for more. Its well written, actors are also very good and the storyline is completely interesting as well as the soundtrack. Made me miss the 90s and also miss france. I hope they will make another season with another story like this.

Just finished the show, I loved it so much that it took me almost a week before I saw the last episode cos I was so afraid for Lea but it ended well, the cast were phenomenal, the plot was so intriguing and it kept you guessing till the end.. I don't see it getting a second season, but if it does, I will be over the moon.

Good Show Until The Ending
wygreen23 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This shows' ending made me consider giving it 6 stars, but I'll go ahead with 7. The show does have quite an interesting mystery, which was the main thing that had me hooked. The lead protagonist makes some less than stellar choices, but she has a good heart, and I wanted to see where everything was going. The show makes the most out of its time jumps. Wether your grew up in the 90's and want to look back on them, or did not and want to see what that era was like, you'll probably enjoy that aspect of the show. I found the show's ending to be unsatisfying, and I believe it sends a terrible message. This is where I spoil things. Our time traveling protagonist effectively commits suicide (something I predicted by the second episode) because of the mistakes her parents made. If your parents are people who should never have been together, that is on THEM. Not you. Her parents are not very good people. They are liars, they are distant and do little to help with her obvious low self esteem, and her mother deserts her after her affair is revealed. Neither of them ever really get to see the error of their ways, instead their own daughter kills herself to change their futures. A child should not destroy their own lives to ensure their parents' happiness, especially when they don't even deserve it. For that, this series is not what it could have been.

A nice surprise
Real_Mrs_JonSnow2 May 2022
I loved this show. Some of the sex stuff was a bit too much, but hey, they're French. It also could be a little juvenile at times, but the story is still charming and original, it will still draw you in. Time travel is one of my favorite genres, I'll watch almost any show that revolves around it. So if you love time travel, you may love this show.

The characters are likable and relatable, the cinematography is breathtaking, and the pace kept me engaged the entire time. It even has a perfect ending. All the actors are good, not to mention gorgeous. They each did a convincing job as the confused Lea transferred into a different body, and with the perfect amount of humor too. The scenery is also a character of the show. What a beautiful landscape.

I was surprised I liked it this much. I hope more people give it a chance so it's picked up for a second season. Many of us need to see what happens to all these great characters, especially Lea. I do wish they had explored why and how Lea was able to time travel. Maybe next season we will get more answers.

Great premise, intriguing mystery, captivating actress, pretty scenery, unsatisfying ending
gridoon202411 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
"Les 7 Vies De Léa" combines two of my favorite genres/tropes: time-traveling and murder-mystery; it also throws in body-hopping. In a lot of ways it is similar to season 2 of "Russian Doll" - but a bit better. The mystery is intriguing, the sci-fi aspects well-handled, the scenery is pretty, and the actors are up to the tough challenge of essentially playing two roles each (most of them). Newcomer Raïka Hazanavicius is a captivating presence - she holds the camera. However, at 7 episodes the series is a little dragged-out and lacking in urgency (until the final episode); the finale is also rather depressing and unsatisfying, if it all ends here without a second season. I give it a 7/10 on the whole.

An absolutely riveting twist on the archetypal love story
ryan-999371 May 2022
This show manages to be enthralling both in its premise and its execution. The character development is strong and the world building is fascinating. The mystery builds in a way that feels natural, and the tension built as the consequences of Leas reality become apparent is excellent.

As for the conclusion of the season, I find it difficult to imagine a more devastating, intriguing, and satisfying end to Lea's journey of 7 lives.

The idea is interesting, I was able to watch whole series in just few days, I enjoyed some acting and it wasn't boring like other shows on Netflix, however all the political things were turn off to me.

Girl from the future
jgardiner-871-72672928 April 2022
I just started watching this and already it's playing to my science fiction fantasy, time travel vibe. I think I'm hooked on it. Sort of a crazy teenager mixed up world has started. As the synopsis said she found a dead body and she doing time travel.

She found the book/journal she had buried 30 years before. Now she knows that she wasn't dreaming. This is so good.

It get kind of crazy as she go each time and gets to live one day of their life back as a different person. They never remember what happened when she was them.

She is trying to save the guy she found dead from dying because she has fallen in love with him.

Then school life is so weird compared to our countries school.

So much sex in it though. She is just a mixed up little girl but an interesting one. It, the story keeps you mesmerised. Are a viewer you just can't let it go. You just must keep watching. It is really fascinating. It will just hook you in.

The thing that makes it so believable is the strong theme of drug taking and that alone takes you into the realms unknown.

The scenery and cinematolgy is so good. You want to just stop and suck it all up. Bit too much sex but maybe important for the detail of the story.

Interesting but too much drugs
harineem-209-5254881 June 2022
It has an interesting premise of time loop where the main character wakes up in a different person's body every day and returns back to her own the next day. And in between she is trying to save an Arabic high schooler from getting killed about 30 years ago.

Some episodes seem to be just there for her making out with someone. She practically sleeps with someone in every one of her body swaps.

I don't understand why does every character say they wont finish High School. And surprisingly coming from ones who are poor and finishing school ,may actually create a better life for them.

Also they never show any of the kids ever studying. Maybe its a French cultural thing which as a Asian I don't understand ,as High Schoolers are practically chained by the system to books in Asian countries. It's do or die years for them.

Netflix normalising school kids taking so much drugs without warning is not healthy. I stopped watching first episode of Russian doll season 2 for the casual drug taking and here we have High School kids bingeing on drugs. No Netflix don't set bad examples for kids or even adults, drug habit is self-destructive.

I'm trying to like it but..
fancybeachgirl30 April 2022
This progressive girl in the future who knows it all is so ignorant it's difficult. Just seems like entitled kids of today.

She complains about girls not being equal in the past yet.. in the future she also hasn't progressed. Mainly referring to bring upset that in the 90s no girl skates yet she doesn't skate.. ugh.. this theme seems to continue.

She's Not having the smarts to understand the situation.

One of the best recent TV series
diane_berger22 May 2022
I couldn't help just saying that this is an amazing TV series... In the end I just couldn't help my tears falling, that's how much it touched me. This is one of the best recent TV productions, just give it a try, if you have a heart it will touch you just as much as it touched me. It's one of those rare art works that stay with you even when the lights are on and the story reached its end.

Rollercoaster of emotions
mosruio7 May 2022
What an unexpected netflix gem! I like time travel/time loop movies and series so the theme was already intriguing. I did not, however, expect it to be this good. The story unfolds in tiny bits and it keeps you hooked for the 7 episodes.

The scenery is amazing and I really like the way they managed to capture the essence of early 90's theme.

I felt joy, anger, fear, sorrow and had few moments of goosebumps and tears. It's just amazing story and a rollercoaster of emotions!

Seven lives of Léa
insultingfilms10123 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Light spoilers but not much

This French series was definitely a breath taker, i was questioning the whole time and it kept me on my feet. I don't think there was a single episode where i felt dis engaged. The only problem i have with this is that why are there so many minor x adult couples ? Ishmael seemed to be either everyone's true love of everyone hates him and are way overly racist towards him. It was just a lot but overall pretty great !

It's a fun ride that works
haveanothertwo3 May 2022
Like the adolescents at its center, the series is a bit all over the place. But if you indulge, it totally works. Bonus for the France based 90s références, which surprise and delight - even if buttered a little thick.

The cast is engaging, the story moves along and there's some cool ideas explored here and there. Worth it!

Good atmosphere.
hgjvjpkxc6 May 2022
A series that can be watched with pleasure, nothing exceptional but an atmosphere that works and the beautiful Verdon Gorge. A black point on the choice of filmmaking, many scenes with an unpleasant vignetting to the eye. Part of the story takes place in 1991 but we can see the father with a t-shirt tribute to the film Forrest Gump yet released in 1994.

Worth your time
iamMarkPrice4 August 2022
Based on the short young adult novel "The 7 lives of Leo Belami" this Netflix series adaption tells the story of Lea; a 17 year old aimless and depressed girl too scared to try at life, yet unsure why she should exist without really living. When Lea finds a dead body whilst attempting to take her own life outdoors, she confronts her parents youth and the other players in their orbit.

Whilst attempting to unravel the mystery of how the man she found came to die, Lea finds strength within herself to try at life and become whole. What at first glance by some may appear to be just more Netflix woke themes, quickly unveil themselves to be a master class in the anti-woke. To pull this off Lea's character grows and sheds her fear, depression and malaise through struggle, slapstick hyperbole, and a hard dose of reality.

As Lea grows aware of the feelings of others, she is able to let go of her insecurities and unrealistic expectations to just live.

The 7 lives of Lea is a true coming of age story for anyone born after 1990, that just might change your world view for the better.

A Good watch for time travel show lovers
vikassinghvs-702204 July 2022
This show is a good watch but not great. It has its good elements though and will stay with you for sometime.

There is one problem with show and similar show like this is that each episode is based on a concept or character and not every character may be too strong or interesting or may not support the plot very well, still you need it because That is. Part of story.

The show has similar problems but it is still a good watch because there not much twist and turn but rather small twists in each episode that are not illogical neither insignificant.

I love it
britneypaige-6922827 April 2023
I binged this series in two days. Unfortunately on a work night leaving me only few hours of sleep. Worth it. Great actors (even if you watch with English dubbed over you can see the talent). I enjoyed all of the characters portrayed.. even the characters that were to be despised I still enjoyed getting to know once she took over their bodies. It just really brought to life that everyone, regardless of the persona they portray has issues behind closed doors. She started off hating her life and having no purpose to realizing every day she woke up as some one new, they always had it worse than her. I just loved everything about this series and definitely took something away from it.
