He's inherited his unknown father's gorgeous beachfront house and club in the Caribbean island of Nevis, West Indies, and he wants her and the old crew to join him for a week while he absorbs this news. Friends Ben, a New Yorker, Claire, Alex, and Theo, Londoners, and George, a Miamian, are largely floundering in life, with perhaps the exception of the personal life of happily married George, whose wife, Megan, is an unofficial sixth, unofficial in she being a little too exuberant in her simple-mindedness for the others' taste for them to be truly friends with her otherwise. While the focus of late has been on Claire who has just found out that her latest "forever" boyfriend is cheating on her, just like the last five forever boyfriends in the past year, it switches to long divorced Ben when he invites them all on his tab to the Caribbean island of Nevis for a week in having just inherited Golden Rock, the estate of the just passed Arnie Sandoval, the biological father he never knew, the estate including a beach resort. Even before arriving, Ben initially thinks about selling the estate. In a combination of them all seemingly loving it there and with nothing pressing to go home to, Claire convinces the others that they should start a wedding business for the resort, they, including Arnie's lawyer, Charlie, and the resident managers/domestics of the estate, the Rollins family, collectively having the skill set to handle most of the responsibilities. While not giving up their lives back home completely, they give themselves unofficially one year for a life in Nevis. While they go through the ebbs and flows of the business, they go through their own issues of being in Nevis. While he wants to discover why who was his Renaissance man of a father never contacted him while he was alive despite knowing his identity, Ben starts to fall for the Rollins' daughter, Ashley. While Claire has sworn off men in her poor track record and thus vows to focus on herself instead, she meets who outwardly could be number seven forever boyfriend in the last year, Harry, a somewhat mysterious employee of the resort who seems to show up when least expected and whose job responsibility no one has divulged. And thrown back together on the island now as ex-partners, both professionally and personally, Alex and George have to decide if they still have feelings for each other.—Huggo
