Hilarious!
npvarley15 April 2022
Ignore the naysayers, this show is hilarious. Craig Robinson and Claudia O'Doherty are a great double team. The minor players all play their parts with style, too.

It's an original premise and they cram a lot into each episode so the pace never flags. The script is also sharp and witty and it all hangs together really well.

Craig Robinson delivers the lines with a great world-weary style and is a real comic talent. Claudia O'Doherty has been around a while without ever really hitting the headlines. This show should change that. She's a star!

Watch this show and you won't regret it.

Started for Craig Robinson
nicci197210 May 2022
This is hilarious. The gentlemen that plays his brother is a really good actor. People are hating. Yes yes people are entitled to their opinion but claiming wokeness, or negative comments because of diversity. People in the world are racist and privileged and unwilling to expend their minds.

Yes it has vulgar moments-most comedies do. Yes it had curse words - most cable shows do. But if that's not your thing - you can turn it off. You don't have to rate it low.

Clever Writing, Interesting Premise and a Great Cast
pinluh6 June 2022
This show caught me off guard and I'm glad it did. The cast is great and Craig Robinson is a far better series lead than I had imagined (even though he's always been a hilarious and talented actor) and really does a great job of carrying the series. Claudia O'Doherty is hilarious as well and her performance offers a few touching moments to endear you to her and the story in general. It pushes boundaries, has fun sub-plots and is really, really worth a watch!!

Season 1 was good, but season 2 is different
blitz_n117 August 2023
Season 1 was funny and enjoyable, probably due to the adventure, story and comedy... but man season 2 was hard to watch. Not sure what changed, maybe the writers, but the characters were really annoying this time round.

Each episode was filled with weird dialogue... Silly questions... cringe/unnecessary conversations.....it took so much effort to get through the first two episodes of season 2 that I'm officially done with the show...

Hopefully this review will help someone else who might be thinking 'it was a great show last season, but what changed?! It's cringe trying to watch now....'.. I can't be alone.

No - NOT a family show - or is it?
thejdrage17 April 2022
Craig Robinson and Claudia O'Doherty are a great new and unlikely team. In fact, all the actors are solid in their own right.

If you just want to laugh out loud - this is your series.

Yes. Some critters get killed - but the fact is the pythons are taking over the everglades in Florida and devouring all the critters that actually belong there to the point of extinction. NO! It is NOT the pythons fault. I won't go into how dumb some people are, but ...... And, no, the iguana at the beginning does NOT get killed - he is hibernating.

I actually preferred the first half of the series to the last half. But enjoyed it all. Am hoping there will be a second season.

Finally something new
alexandarcrni-8719917 April 2022
Great show, perfect for a Sunday afternoon, funny, awesome casting. Perfect ratio of main story and side events. I've read most of the reviews here and bad ones are mostly linked to someone complaining about animal cruelty or misrepresenting rasism . You can see patern of rasist people and animal activists not liking it. It's hilarious how obvious it is.

Show is not just comedy. There is a nice element of drama in the background with characters struggling however they are not shoving that down your throat and still selling it as a comedy or some other genres (Halo, Snowpiercer etc...)

Hilarious or boring depending on the episode
heath-jeffrey29 June 2023
I found the first 4 episodes to be hilarious, clever, and somewhat endearing, and the last 6 (of season 1) to be a bit meh, soap-opera-y, and bland. It's a strange pivot, from Brooklyn 99 style comedy to a painful drama with splashes of light humour.

I thought the latter was temporary, because episodes 5-8, each focused on the backstory of one of 4 main characters. In each case, the emphasis was on drama and sympathising with the difficult lives each has faced and how poorly they've been treated by others. I was expecting with the back stories out of the way, it'd then shift back into the same comedy as the first 4 episodes. But it didn't.

There were definitely drops of humour in the last 6 episodes, but the focus on how miserable and depressing their lives are, and the seriousness of the predicaments they find themselves in, didn't allow for much. More importantly, only Craig Robinson is really funny by himself. The rest need each other to bounce off of. So they struggle to be funny in the episodes that focus on one character at a time.

A lot of people seem to love Claudia O'Doherty, but in general I find that she's one of those comedians who largely relies on being loud and over the top. She has her moments, but that style of comedy can also just be a bit grating/annoying. Some of the supporting cast are funnier, as long as they're interacting with each other.

Fingers crossed season 2 will pivot back to that really funny stuff!

I am a Craig Robinson fan so I was curious. This show is refreshing and well written. We could not stop watching and binged Season 1. Give it a chance!

I swear
Headturner115 April 2022
I had reviewed this after the early release pilot?!? Any ways I watched the whole season last night and it wasn't really what I thought it would be but still decent. I love Claudia O'doherty from Gleeb. Lol. Craig Robinson's really funny and loved Scott MacArthur tho I don't know if I've ever seen him in anything? Stop about the snakes people! They've been hunting and killing them forever in the everglades! If your little doggy or kitty got eaten by one I'm sure you wouldn't be on about it! Any ways the plot line with the brother and the Tony Robbins wanna be ( sorry forgot his name) could have been fleshed out more but they added too many subplots that things got a bit incoherent and not finished. But I liked it. Reminds me of Code 404 and Intelligence ( a bit) and I loved those. Hopefully there will be more because O'Doherty isn't in a lot of things and I really like her and would like to see more if her.

Ignore bad reviews
mtodorovich23 April 2022
This show was entertaining from the beginning. The relationship Craigory and Jillian G form is hilarious and genuine.

I don't get why people are so mad and giving such poor reviews about a comedy series. It's not supposed to be serious.. just give it a chance, and get ready to laugh a lot.

Perfect cast, script and everything else!
shadowwalkerrock24 April 2022
I went in thinking it might be an average sitcom worth watching because I knew Craig wouldn't take the role if it was more of the same old rehashed content.

Him and Adam Scott made me happily sit through Ghosted and his role in Rapture-Palooza literally made that movie despite not being the main character.

Hopefully Peacock doesn't FOX this show on us.

Funny comedy with many crazy situations! :-)
stevebondi15 April 2022
Craig Robinson and Claudia O'Doherty have always been funny in whatever I have seen them in, and this is no exception! :-) Not quite as funny as Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Good Place, but still had me laughing a lot :-)

The Worst of Humanity
arbrenner25 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There's a formula going on here I've seen before, one that drove me nuts: something good happens, then something terrible happens.

Craig Robinson is Craig Foster, and his character is at the center of a maelstrom of a universe. But should we care about or root for Craig Taylor? Is he a good guy, or is he just as bad as (or worse than) everyone he holds up as a bad seed?

This show is full of rotten characters we watch like we'd watch a slow motion train wreck. It panders to our sense of victimization. It appeals to whatever negative feelings we might harbor deep inside ourselves, the ones we hope to rise above. The show wants us to sink down and let those misguided feelings take over. It uses shock and sick or cruel humor to suck us in and keep us watching.

One character keeps me from rating this lower, and that's Jillian. She should be the show's central or lead character but she is not. She is flawed but often kind and almost always altruistic. Jillian is the only character who may deserve redemption. But though she is key to the show, she is not the lead, but should be.

Two seasons of being yanked around has me frustrated with the show's writers and runners. I feel manipulated and toyed with and I don't like it.

The show's arcs, its constant use of skipping backwards to show us events that constantly change our understanding of what is happening?

Great. We shouldn't assume we know what's going on.

But doing this over and over and over tells me Dan Goor gets off on screwing around with an audience.

And it leaves me hoping there is not a third season.

Funny!
hdzqqn3 April 2022
Very refreshing. This show has great actors and a so far a really good story.. sadly the snakes are a real issue in Florida, they are eating all the wildlife and should not be there. Yes people owned those snakes then let them free when they got too big (they can grow some 20 feet in length and are extremely strong).. so very dangerous when hungry, and when they are that size, a child would be the perfect treat. So these snakes really do need to go and unfortunately, be killed. However the real culprit was the breeding facility that got torn apart, and I feel like that should have been mentioned. If we don't continue to talk about our history, we are bound to repeat it... and maybe keeping breeding or research facilities that house dangerous things.. is not something we should continue to do.

Fresh and Different

Craig Robinson is hilarious and really shines in this wacky comedy. Love it so far, belly laughs in several episodes. Season 1 is a hit and I would think it will be renewed. Cast of stars.

Not great but some laughs
bobetjo15 September 2022
This 2016 series can be a little predictable but in every episode I have found a laugh. The story is a little staid. Hard trying loser with few skills hopes to make it big. We've seen it before. The ex-wife he still relies on. The no-good brother trying to suck him into crime. The business guru who is charges thousands for seminars.

But now and again there is a little slapstick moment that made me laugh. When I look at some of the other supposedly funny shows like 'Loot' I think Killing It is tighter. I had never heard of anybody in this show before but they were all do a great job. Compared with so many big name shows this is definitely worth a watch.

A comedy about the futility of the American dream
dedawson-825616 March 2023
This is a show so clever, so over-the-top, so carefully cast that a viewer could be excused for missing the point. So here's the point: people some see as losers are strivers fighting to prove to us and themselves that the opportunity to achieve the American dream is real. They fight racism, cynicism, tribalism, jingoism, ignorance and plain evil to demonstrate that the road to success exists, even if it means working in a swamp. Craig Robinson plays the innocent believer working alongside an earnest immigrant and despite his cagey but jaded brother. A lot of the four-letter language that writers are wearing out, but a classic satire with an important message.

Surprisingly grasping
sellashaw19 April 2022
The first two episodes left me uninterested, however the season does pick up fast! I liked how the different sub plots of each character were shown and then brought together. I wasn't really interested in the snake competition all season - except for the last episode! I loved the chemistry between Craig and Claudia and they are both funny in their own ways. I was surprised by how much I liked this show considering the first episode was bland and I hope there is a next season!

Well.. I'm SUPER partial to Claudia O'Doherty, sooo... (that explains the extra star)
orcinussr14 April 2022
Seriously, imo she's one of the most underrated and underutilized comedic actors, and I can't figure out why - but that doesn't speak to the show, just some creepy affinity towards one of the principles (no, no.. It's not 'creepy', it's not like that, I just think she's talented and funny af) anyway check the show or don't, frankly if you're reading this than why wouldn't you take the extra step.

jefe19733 May 2022
This is probably one of the best news shows on TV. Craig and Gillian G. Are a great duo and deliver fresh comedy. Great story lines and every episode has a shocking laugh out loud moment.

y'all doing too much S2 😒
preciousfragoso20 August 2023
S1 was so good! I rewatched it a couple times and was so looking forward to s2.

S2... no baby. It was all over the place and jammed pack with too many storylines that didn't have enough time to be fleshed out. Tbh y'all coulda kept some of those story lines for a later season (if you had to keep them at all😬).

The ex wife/daughter situation... siiiiiiide eye.

The main cast/returning cast still have the chemistry from the 1st, but the new characters didn't really fit imo. With the exception of Dot, she can do anything and I love her omg.

**edit, I loved Jonah's character and his entire schtick. I laughed every time he was on screen!

I still gave it 9 tho. S1 was so good that s2 only knocked it down 1. Even tho it was not... good.

Not the funny romp I was expecting
pointlessreid12 May 2022
I definitely enjoyed it and will recommend it, but it's not at all what I was expecting. It was a darker/ more dramatic comedy than I felt like was advertised. Every funny moment was met with a gut-punch.

If you're a fan of more "pessimistic" comedies this is the one for you!!

Great 1st season, unwatchable 2nd
pkmetal14 September 2023
Some shows hit their stride and get better in Season 2. Others lose sight of what made the show good and double down on the worst aspects. Killing It does the latter. I really enjoyed the first season, but the second goes much too far in piling up disaster after disaster faced by the two very likable main characters. Yes, they need to face challenges, but do we really need to see Murphy's Law in action every six minutes? It gets exhausting, and I don't watch a show like this to feel exhausted. I hope the writers recalibrate if there's a 3rd season.

Bonus fail: No offense to the actor, but I'm not sure who thought the character of Isaiah warranted a full episode to himself. That didn't even come close to succeeding.
