Hilary making her own show was a smart business move. While her and David work extremely well together, the arguing did get old at times, and sometimes I just want to see people fall in love with their original home instead of listing it (being a 40/60 likelyhood in Love It or List It because of how GREAT both her and David are in both of their careers). Hilary is savage in the best ways. My partner and I constantly laugh at her insults of the original home. I often go around our home and say "What would Hilary say?". This woman is quotable. This show is definitely not a 1, the people giving it that clearly are upset about David not being in it; however, I do think this show is equally as good as Love It or List it because Hilary still brings her consistent flare to it. Give it a watch for yourself to decide whether or not you love it. I definitely do!
I love Hilary Farr's be show, Tough Love!
One itty bitty recommendation- lighten up on the eyebrows!
There is so much Drama and a Lot of surprises! This is going on my Favs!!
There is so much I want to do with my house, where we have been for 30 years of our 42 year marriage. Hilary, you need to come to Mississippi!
It's a shame poor ole David is out doing his thing without Hilary. The two of them together were good. Although sometimes I wanted to slap one or the other of them.
In the episode I'm watching They are going through the woman's "Over flow of Sweaters" and I just cackled!
In Mississippi you don't need sweaters much at all!

I absolutely adore Hilary Farr. Her designs are timeless. I love watching earlier episodes of Love It or List It after I've rewatched all the episodes of Tough Love. I've seen all episodes at least twice. Hilary does a fantastic job, even with one difficult and orange client, lol! I could watch literally infinite episodes of Tough Love. It delves much deeper into the design, furniture, and home's history than other design shows. Hilary is witty, hilarious, stern, and honest. Most importantly, she is authentic. I adore her point of view in art and design. Her designs are classy, timeless, and stylish. I would love to hire her to renovate my house. I look forward to a third season of this.
The latest episode showed Hilary at her lowest: rudely asking a man going through chemo "are you crazy?" when he made a suggestion. Then following up and abrasively criticizing an idea he had. The man and his wife looked shocked.
Who needs that type of feedback?
Hilary is the Gordon Ramsey of HGTV, and not in a good way. In Love it or List it, she was more harmless and a nicer problem solver. Now I think she's just cruel and caustic. It's odd because I loved her in LIOLI
She is a great designer (in my opinion), so that's why I just don't understand why she unleashed this new persona. Hope she goes back to her old ways.
