If I can restore things with my hands I am sure I can be of some help.

Natalie Hall who plays Cindy is delightful! But what I truly enjoyed about this film is how the prince sees through the facade and figures out very quickly who the real designer is behind Rebecca Roslyn's designs. Not only does he obtain this information quickly, but he is not easily fooled in to thinking otherwise...and he is incredible supportive of someone who he views as an incredibly talented, hard working, under appreciated designer.

When his group of friends intentionally trick Cindy in to underdressing for an event, the prince goes out of his way to try to make her feel comfortable by also dressing down. This isn't the only way he tries to build her up and make her feel comfortable...at one point in spite not being able to sew, he helps Cindy remake dresses for the ball under an extreme time crunch. He is really beyond too impossible to be true! But that is why we watch Hallmark, isn't it? Therefore Prince Ronan is perfect, as ordered!

I appreciated how the romantic rival, after initially doing something mean spirited, turns a new leaf and champions her rival before the last five minutes of the film where they usually cede there defeat. I also really appreciated the actress who was the grandmother (I think) who was real and honest...and telling like it was from the onset.

"Spontaneous, in the moment, out of character."

As mentioned, Natalie Hall is delightful and you should watch this film.

Was hoping for more

Warning: Spoilers
Cindy was a mess. No backbone. No ambition. Movie ended without resolving the commoner v regal issue. People alternately adored her and bullied her. It made no sense. Out of the blue her boss suddenly appreciates her and offers her a partnership. Hallmark rushed to get this one out.

not sad i watched it, don't need to see it again

Most of hallmark's new actresses look alike to me so i was pleased to realize this wasn't the same one who drives me crazy in other movies. While no credit is given to the fairy tale authors of cinderella (whichever ones they might choose to credit) it is apparent early on that this is a cinderella remake when the main character's name is given as cindy cordella. Which becomes a bit distracting when the other characters are introduced and you try to figure out which part from the traditional story they'll fill. This cinderella does have a nice bit of gumption but she keeps burying it. I would've scored it higher but it ended on a bit of a wtf moment when her ball gown was so unflattering and then there was the bizarre dance break.

Much originality balanced by mediocre editing
Dunham168 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Has a true Hallmark romance ingenue lead and Jonathan Keltx again doing well as the love interest prince. Has elements of the Cinderella fairy taoe as well with two characters altermating as "the evil stepmother" but the editing is too choppy to rate more than a seven, not worth seeing again every year

Had great potential
jenrn-097228 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie had great potential. The prince - as usual - takes an interest in the common girl and pursues her.. It was very refreshing to have the jealous pseudo-girlfriend suddenly turn out to be a cheerleader for the prince and the "commoner" - a big change from the usual formula. Instead of capitalizing on it, it was all downhill from there. Would a world-renown designer set up one-of-a-kind dresses on a rickety clothes hanger directly in front of a chocolate fountain?? Not even close to believable (in case you didn't guess - the dresses are ruined when the dress rack collapses onto the fountain). Then we cut to her designing new dresses in satins and silks while eating greasy pizza? Handling the cloth and sewing right after holding a slice and taking a bite?!? There's no way the fabric would have survived. Would the girl's boss - who had been keeping her dress designing a secret for the past 5 years - suddenly make her a partner? After she'd been taking all the credit for herself all this time?!? Not even close... I agree with another review that said it read like a 6th grader wrote it - or that they needed to wrap it up in a hurry...Because it's not even a Cinderella ending - a dance that starts out as a waltz so the prince can dance with her and kiss her - to have the music suddenly break into rock and roll so she can be "funky" for 30 seconds (and successfully kill any romantic mood) - to then suddenly switch back into a waltz so they can do the "pan out to the crown waltzing around them"?!? Come on! She might as well have just started dancing barefoot in the chocolate fountain... The prince was told early on to forget about the commoner because he's going to be king - and then it ends with everyone stand around smiling approvingly when she starts wildly dancing?!? Especially since she's really not done anything to win them over except fix her own error... Utterly disappointing. The first half was a great watch and great plot- ramping up to be one of the better romances - then it fizzles into a poorly written, completely unbelievable, over-the-top mess that should embarrass even Hallmark.

Predictable yes,plot wise deja vu
lisafordeay15 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Fit For A Prince is a 2021 romance film starring Nataile Hall. A young fashion designer named Cindy gets to design clothes for the royal family. Problems arise as she falls for the royal prince Ronan. Will they or won't they get together you bet they will. The whole plot has a Cinderella vibe to it and I notice Hallmark have a habit of doing royal films with American women falling for British princes(yes I'm looking at you Harry and Meghan Markle). Fun fact about this is that both actors played royality before as Jonathan Keltz(who's American btw) played a prince back in 2018 and Nataile played a princess in 2020 called A Winter Princess.

If your a fan of Hallmark movies then do watch.

Ill fitting
TheLittleSongbird24 February 2022
The whole royal meets commoner and falling in love scenario was already very old and done to death by the time 'Fit for a Prince' was made. It is a scenario that Hallmark over the past seven years or so have recycled quite a lot and very few films that have this concept do anything fresh. Did like the idea though of 'Fit for a Prince' incorporating elements of 'Cinderella', a personal favourite story of mine since childhood. So it was not entirely a doomed from the get go case.

'Fit for a Prince' doesn't do enough with the 'Cinderella' story, everything with the fashion is poorly utilised and nothing new is done with the scenario. Really do have to agree with what has already been said, 'Fit for a Prince' is a very bad film and among the worst of the 2021 Hallmark films. And joint worst of the 2021 Love Ever After films along with 'Beverly Hills Wedding'. Hallmark did do some good films in 2021, with 'A New Year's Resolution' and 'As Luck would Have It' being standouts, but 'Fit for a Prince' is one of the major misfires.

Did think that the scenery was quite nice.

When it comes to the redeeming qualities, that is pretty much it.

Natalie Hall is too saccharine as Cindy and Jonathan Keltz is rather bland and wooden. The two don't generate any chemistry together, and the relationship itself is poorly developed. With it being rushed and like there were parts intended to be there but left on the editing room floor. Which would account for why the editing was as choppy as it was and why the story felt jumpy and incomplete. Nobody in the supporting cast stands out and the characters are neither interesting or easy to like, too one-dimensional and bland.

Other than some of the scenery, 'Fit for a Prince' is pretty cheap looking. Especially the choppy editing and pretty hideous fashions that look more shoestring budget than lavish. A big problem for a film that has fashion playing a big part. The music is too constant and over-scored, not uncommon for Hallmark but this is one of the worst Hallmark films in this regard for this year. The direction is characterless and leaden.

The script is full of cheese, over sweet schmaltz and awkward. The story is thin, incomplete feeling and does absolutely nothing new with a continually recycled formula. Which makes the film feel very fatigued and it is not good fun watching a film knowing throughout how it's all going to map out five minutes before the event happens.

In summary, very bad. 2/10.

Charming
skpn1239 March 2021
This film had so much potential - just needed better writing and better character coherence. The 'ugly sisters' should not suddenly turn into charmers even with a 'fairy godmother' aka grandmother in sight.

I also did not find most of the dressed particularly special which was disappointing.

But forgetting the gripes, this was fun entertainment and better than most. It is the untapped potential that is grating, not the movie itself.

Deconstructed Cinderella
MickyG33318 March 2023
7.4 stars.

A woman designs all the clothing for a very competitive designer. The designer is Raslyn clothing lines and designs etc... Ms. Raslyn has been taking all the credit while Cindy (Hall) does all the designs and hard work. Cindy has three assistants. Reggie is the main worker that we get acquainted with. "Fit for a Prince" is mainly about how Raslyn's company has been hired to design the wardrobe for an upcoming royal ball. Prince Ronan happens upon Cindy while she's working at the shop and is immediately smitten by her beauty and savvy. The rest of the story is about how an American designer is "Fit for a Prince" and whether it's possible for them to be together in the end.

This is the same royal story done in at least a dozen other Hallmark films. There is absolutely nothing original emanating from "Fit for a Prince" other than Melinda Michael. What a lovely creature is she? I hope to see her in more Hallmark immediately, do not put her on standby.

The storyline reminds one of Cinderella in some fashion. First you have Cindy who is similar to Cinderella (hence the name Cindy) in that she is a talented commoner who is kind and benevolent to her underlings. Next is Raslyn herself who is an amalgamation of the evil stepmother and an uncaring boss. Julia (Michael), Gloria and Brooke are like the evil stepsisters. Julia has been chosen by royalty to be the Prince's consort and makes it frigidly clear to Cindy to stay away from him. Cindy's underlings are like the animals that befriend and assist her. Prince Ronan takes on dual parts, one of the Fairy Godmother and the other as none other than the Prince himself. He is her staunchest ally, most gracious admirer, and counselor through it all. He is the one who believes in her, and helps all the rest to see her potential as a worthy, and wonderful person.

"Fit for a Prince" fits the mold too neatly bearing no spontaneity or divergence from the accepted blueprint of royalty romances. Two positive aspects however: there is a thread of entertainment value, and a remnant of chemistry between the leads.

Smirk moments
tuttley-045538 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Of the many moments that stood out as a smirk moment, I couldn't figure out why Cindy would set up the dresses in the foyer of a mansion. I'm also surprised that chocolate fondue is considered a midday snack (for a family that are "always posing") that also needs to be set up in the foyer. I understand that it enhances the action and puts the protagonist in a precarious situation that motivates her to design and sew new dresses but I question the common sense of the movie. That's aside from the main designer who doesn't visit with the illustrious family who have a prince staying with them, a small team of seamstresses and only one attends to measure and returns to do fittings, extremely short notice to design dresses for an important event, and Cindy can make a tuxedo jacket. Hmmm...

9 for Ms Hall
lizzielovesyou-4394817 March 2021
First, this wasn't a super well written script, I did like how they touched on the Cinderella elements- but the writing didn't hold up to make it all come together. I loved the old grandmother in this and all the characters did just a fine, decent job. I really like Natalie Hall though. I love everything she is in. I just feel like Hallmark doesn't give her the scripts she deserves. I have seen her in Charmed, Unreal, her Netflix film and she is really a good/funny actor. In fact she's a standout among so many other actors in these shows and has electric energy on camrea. I really Hope Hallmark gives her a really good script one day as she seems to have chemistry with anyone she is oppsite and can play any role. Keltz was good too. I felt like he was strong with with Hall and I believed him as a prince. The writing lacked but Keltz and Hall kept my interest.

Blue Spot on right side of lead actress's forehead at the beginning scenes

Did anybody else see this or was it just us?

Not really plausible in 2022, maybe somewhat believable years ago.

Otherwise, typical royal/commoner Hallmark fare😃

I stayed for the dresses :(
pumpkinmom-9172327 April 2021
Ok, Hallmark movies are delightfully campy and predictable so let's put all of that aside. And these other reviews do a great job pointing out plot holes and seamstress flaws. But I stayed until the end to see what amazing dresses would come out at the reveal. Ya'll. It's Sears 2001 prom catalog. They're beyond plain, boring and not suited to the actresses. If you're staying for the dresses go ahead and flip the channel.

So bad it's almost good. No, not really. It's just bad.
rebekahrox9 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I guess someone there at Hallmark supposes that the that the narrow-chested, delicate, bland looks of the actor who played Prince Ronan convey an aristocratic aura because this is the second time he has played a prince. To me, he is miscast as a romantic lead unless it is in a romantic dark-horse underdog role. The testosterone is low in this one.

Now on to Natalie Hall. Apparently Hallmark has decided that she is the go-to female lead when youth and prettiness is required. Unfortunately she has little else to offer. She's not bad but nothing to be especially worthy of scoring 6 Hallmark lead roles in 2 years. The usual Hallmark work-horses had better watch their backs even though most of them have more acting talent, charm, appeal and charisma despite their age.

Others have pointed out many of the ridiculous plot points that abound in this disaster. Their ballroom dance at the end was my pick for most cringe-worthy scene. It looked like a losing effort for Dancing with the Stars. I thought it couldn't get worse until she broke in to a solo routine that would have embarrassed famous bad dancer Elaine Benes from Seinfeld. I thought at one point she was going to drop to the floor and twirl around on her butt. The worst thing in the whole mess was the lack of resolution to the mis-match of how a King was going to unite with an ambitious workaholic partner in a global corporation. It's scary to think this one might need a sequel.

Should have read reviews first
bmiller5916 March 2021
I'm usually not real critical of HM movies. And, because I don't read reviews prior to watching movies, I was not prepared for this debacle. Everything about it was bad, and I'm not going to go over them because all the other reviews hit the low points on the nail head.

I will add one more complaint, and it's getting to be a common occurrence in HM movies. THE MUSIC WAS ENTIRELY TOO LOUD. OMG. First I thought it was our sound-bar, but it wasn't.

I think I've only reviewed one other movie this low.

Very enjoyable
pefiglar17 March 2021
Loved the storyline - while it is a typical "prince & commoner" type story it is different with the dressmaker theme. Totally enjoyable if one sits back and relaxes ! Personally I like Hallmark for that reason - I call their movies my "bedtime stories " after a stressful day in the real world !

Pizza on the worktable?
esusansmith7 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was humming along at about "7" until the workroom scene where the re-designed dresses were being hastily ( impossibly) constructed. Not only is Cindy eating pizza while working, she also has placed the greasy box right on the cutting table, proving herself to be dumber than a box of rocks and completely not worthy of operating a design firm. And the accents! Please, Hallmark, get some true Brits.

I love the guy who plays the prince. The other actors were good, too. But even by Hallmark standards, the writing was horrid. Also felt like the write just gave up half way through and said, "Gotta end this thing now. Let's wrap it up."

Ugh!
krs-9220213 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is the lowest that I have ever given a Hallmark movie. It left far too much to be desired. The whole fashion this made me upset. I love formal dresses and those garbage dresses looked off the rack. I wasn't even interested in the final kiss. The characters didn't gel and it just looked like it needed a rewrite or a new director. I look forward to Hallmark movies but this one... UGH!

Jackbv1239 March 2021
I'm not a fan of royal romance movies although I find some OK where the lead woman is a princess and the man is the commoner. I find it interesting that 2 years ago Natalie Hall did a Hallmark movie where she was the princess and now she is the commoner.

I hated this from the start. The writers went out of their way to draw Cinderella parallels even to the point of calling her Cindy Cordella (not exactly sure of spelling on last name). There were other obvious references also. So you have a pretty good idea how the story is going to go and being Hallmark, you know that every detail will work out for HEA.

I have to admit, there were a few good one on one moments and a couple of minor surprises. I liked what they did with the t-shirts. And Brooke's parting line to the Prince was clever. But I spent more moments cringing than liking.

Other reviewers have rightly noted the idiocy of putting your rack of expensive dresses practically on top of the chocolate fountain and of eating pizza practically at the same time and workspace as sewing the dresses. And this is another movie where the lead with no knowledge or experience in the super-skill task can actually help do in one night what it took 3 skilled people do in 2 weeks.

Cindy Cordella (Natalie Hall)

Warning: Spoilers
Favorite scene with

Cindy Cordella (Natalie Hall) - Being tricked into dressing very casually at the Dinner Party only to discover that no one else is very casual and the awesome way that she handles her humiliation. Prince Ronan/Ronan making her feel very comfortable. Playing a game with him which ends up perfectly humiliating Brooke Hamilton in return. Their talk in the Gardens and almost kiss and getting soaked and enjoying it when the Sprinklers go on. Their fireside chat - Be impulsive. Be out of character. Be spontaneous. Live in the moment. Lauren warning her to stay away from Prince Ronan/Ronan. Defending herself to Lauren - To no avail. Leaving.

Predictable
tlw-363539 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I watch the Hallmark movies because I am tired of all the blood and guts movies elsewhere. This was, like most Hallmark movies, predictable. But still, I watch. I, too, like Natalie Hall, an All My Children alum. but and the writing was not the best. As other reviewers said, it was a very fast romance, pizza on the work table? I agree, never. And a smart young woman like Cindy would never believe it was ok to wear a T shirt and leggings to a dinner with royals. Too many other unbelievable things, like the crazy dancing at the end. What was that? However, I loved seeing the gowns and the cute dresses. Also, does anyone know how to find out info on the clothing? I LOVE the dress worn by Juila at about the 30 minute mark, short, black, with red and white embroidered flowers. Tips on how to find wardrobe info are greatly appreciated.

Natalie becoming a favorite
I really love Natalie Hall she is way better then most. I have seen her in a few films now and she is also becoming a favorite. To me she made this film work. It was cheesy but she made the world and script come together. She brings a different energy then most actors I see on hallmark plus she is funny, not irritating and comes across genuine. She also has such ease and beauty when I watch as a viewer like an old hollywood movie star. Her voice isn't annoying like most actress on Hallmark. It only kept my attention because I like her so much.

Beyond Bad
MovieTVRomanceFan8 March 2021
Fit for a Prince was annoying right from the very beginning. I didn't feel much chemistry for Cindy and Ronan and felt their "romance" was moving to quickly. Plus I simply didn't like much of the other characters aside from Cindy friend, Reggie who seems to be the only one with common sense. Overall, I would not recommend this film to anyone and it was basically a cringe fest.
