Nations' Sonder
Sherlemious21 February 2021
I believe that this show raises more philosophical questions than any individual can imagine, due to the diverse personalities written for each character, with a bit more than just shallow lines written for a side-character. Each character is written as a perspective, a window in the aot world, for a certain type of people, questioning their personal morality and stances. It is hard to not relate to one single character.

Sonder is the realisation that all bypassers on the street have got their own complex lives and aren't just faces that serve our own perspectives. Their world is as big as ours. What this show should make people realise is that our enemies, countries and nations, are as complex as ours. They are as right as we are, and just as wrong as we are. I really believe in Isayama having a beautiful mind.

It is also hard to hate any of them. It just makes sense what they all feel and yet it's so wrong. The way this is executed is taken way further every single episode and it's not the hype and excitement induced from fights and battles that make this a good show, it's how we "feel" the characters and apply our own moral stances to situations we are never gonna experience and yet finding them relatable and understandable.

I hope other people try interpreting this show the way I do, and I promise, everyone should and will get something from this, at least a bit more than just entertainment.

This right here is what makes Attack on Titan so great
tant-6498921 February 2021
It's really sad to see these kind of episodes didn't get as much praise as it should. This and "Bystander" prove how much of a genius Isayama is and how well written the story is when these side characters who only appear in 1-2 episodes can make you care so much for them, have their own development, have their own story, and just took our tears away with so little time. Isayama, I bow down to you.

The essence of the story
khussaim21 February 2021
Attack on Titan doesn't boil down to massive titans fighting, it comes down to the argument that two characters have where each one's perspective is severely challenged, and nothing shows this better than this episode.

This is what makes AoT great
cjasaunders23 February 2021
In a way, it's almost depressing that these slower episodes naturally get lower ratings because they aren't all flash, glamour and dramatic battle scenes. What has always made AoT incredible is the depth and complexity of the characters, and the gritty realism of the situations and journeys they go through

Even the newer characters have already gone through intense journeys of development, and this episode once again drives several important characters forward. It also manages to effortlessly maintain a perfect narrative structure, with a twist at the end of the episode tying it all together perfectly, and the pacing makes the episode absolutely fly by without ever feeling rushed. So much information is provided from contextual cues without needing to explain anything to the watcher.

Genuinely, this is a masterpiece of TV, and I hope all future shows learn from it.

Victims of a System
samirpouya26 February 2021
I don't understand why people hate on gabi Gabi is a product of a system that told her that residents of paradis island are evil because we say so. The only trusted source of information that was available to her was the government and that was what they told her for all of her life and forced her to believe(sounds familiar doesn't it?) now that she escaped to paradis and faced with truth, she can't say what's right and what's wrong anymore(you can see her in a state of shock while eating lunch because it was unbelievable for her to see eldians to be kind and caring) and that my friend is called THE PINNACLE OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT(and why isayama is a GENIUS) in next few episodes you will see it reach it's peak P.S: my man falco no one deserves him😂

AOT is my GOT
jaberadam-7280822 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Attack on Titan is wonderful even without action and movement .. my brother, the dialogues are incredibly consistent, which indicates the genius of the writer .. not to mention the complex philosophy that the anime has. This anime is not just entertainment and action, but it is more than that that it addresses social and psychological issues present in Our real world ..

Gabi had so firmly established in her mind that Paradise was demons that even when the horse caused her to fall, she said it was because of Paradise's demons, unlike Falco who seemed to be smarter than her and in control of his behavior. Sometimes a person does not accept the truth just because it is painful, and this is what applies to Gabi, while an intelligent person looks at the truth even if it is painful, and this is what applies to Falco. Maybe my words are complicated, but as I said earlier in one of the reviews, Attack On Titan is not for children

There is another projection that I liked very, very much, which is when Mikasa went to meet Louise ... Louise said to her, "You saved my life on that day," My dream is to meet you. Then she asked her if she joined the army for Eren, and Mikasa answered her. Shut your mouth ... Maybe some did not understand why he responded Mikasa was so cruel, well I'll tell you, Mikasa, remembered when she was rescued by Eren, who killed two men in a gruesome way and he was just a child..I think the director wanted to tell us that the boy Mikasa loved she sees him as a psychopath.

Finally I liked to say I am very sad for Hanji. It is clear that she is living in very harsh psychological conditions that she had not experienced before when Erwin was the leader .. He left her with a very great responsibility ... as I liked cliffhanger.

Maybe there are typos as I am not a native English speaker

The story of Perspectives
keraghel_mehdi22 February 2021
-Poignant & Heartbreaking Episode that reached the ultimate emotional effect and created a bond with viewers ❤ -It was perfectly directed -I'm speechless from this episode and the controversial moral dilemma about the Marley-Paradis situation 💔😓 , I mean they're both victims and there's no way you can pick a side and defend one against another , And the scene between Kaya and Gabi is the perfect demonstration for that -The depection of the characters conflicts -The Routing of events is so smooth 👌📈 -"The battle of marley" aftermath 💔 : There is no winner in war just Victims and Tragedy 😪💔 -Gabi and Falco are great Asset for this season and represent the never-ending cycle of Suffering and seeking of sakvation -That was the most inspiring and poignant episode that will serve for character development of Gabi ❤ -Hange being exhausted by the pressure that comes with this great responsibility 💔

Beautiful and powerful episode!
joaomarcosbfc21 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Beautiful and powerful episode that reminds us of Sasha's kindness and courage. The world is small and now we have Gabi eating and sleeping at the home of her victim's parents. That's why I love Attack on Titan. They always think of everything in detail and do not leave loose ends. The animation is getting better and better, especially in the light. The episode ends perfectly with the scene after credits making us want to see what comes next. I don't think it's pretty.

A calm before the storm
aaacampero21 February 2021
Tension starts to build up, and it's obvious that we are in for a hell of a ride in the next episodes. I didn't mind the slow pacing at all, I actually thought the dialogue was extremely important for Gabi's character and the slow pacing made every piece of dialogue stand out. Loved it

This left me in shambles
liamgallaagher10 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode surely deserves a higher rating. Although there is no Titan fighting in this episode, which I've noticed those episodes tend to be the highest rated, this episode is beautifully written and really conveys the essence of this struggle between the Eldians of Marley and the "eldian devils". The fact that Gabi and Falco are taken in by Sasha's own family is absolutely heart-wrenching yet so poetic. This show continues to amaze me with each and every episode.

This one for Kaya
Whiskwee22 February 2021
Kaya made even Gabi question herself. It is all so unpredictable, I love this thing about Attack on Titan. Gabi was brainwashed sure, but so was Falco! It's all about using our own damn mind, that brat BAKAA

Beginning of Gabi's Redemption Arc
BadgerStorm434521 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was adapted perfectly from the manga, giving us many tense interactions with Gabi, Falco and Kaya. We also got to see more into Floch, one of the most interesting characters of this arc. Seeing Gabi's idea of what it means to be a "Good Eldian" is tragic and her prejudice is realistic and never feels forced or unwarranted. The final scene with Reiner was also great as we tease what's to come in the future.

END CREDIT SCENE
javanscates21 February 2021
There is an end credit scene in this episode. I really love Falco's character, Gabi's is not quite as good though. I do believe, however that she will grow from the events of this episode. The animation in the episode was also pretty great.

Unexpectedly good episode
jpointer-2648421 February 2021
This episode may not of been as entertaining as the others but it was needed. The pacing is good for the build up. I felt like this episode made gabi even more hated in a way. But I am certain, just wait for these next few episodes.

C H A R A C T E R S
RetroSprites23 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A great episode is the one that they brought us on Saturday, characters that appeared in 1 chapter have their own development and history, Floch finally appears as someone to respect and to praise (if you are on Eren's side), the girl that Mikasa saved being a Yagerist was a very smart choice, since it shows us that Mikasa was joined by Eren to the scouting troops, but now? Eren is the enemy for them and vice versa, and finally I was fascinated by the "battle" between the girl who saved Sasha and Gabi, Gabi's shots were very well executed showing that she reached an extreme level of indoctrination, while Falco already understands that they are all sides of the same coin.

9.3 / 10.
