Sex & Nudity

  • A nude woman is seen while being inspected for small pox. This is only about a second long and it's in a shadow so it's very brief.
  • Female nudity is seen with breasts and buttock nudity including one scene of very brief female full frontal nudity as women stand in line to be inspected for small pox. Breasts and hairy bush are shown.
  • A couple are seen naked in a bathtub. No nudity is shown.
  • Full frontal female nudity is in the first episode during a medical examination scene. There are also breasts shown by another woman in a following scene.
  • There are Around 4 Sex Scenes throught the Series, none are to graphic.
  • Female Nudity in Episode 6 around 50 minutes into episode.

Violence & Gore

  • Native Americans on horses shooting the white people then one chases a woman down and scalps her. This is seen from a distance but you can clearly tell he has her scalp as her scalp less dead body drops to the ground.
  • A few gunfights show brief moments of blood.
  • A woman slaps a young woman until she is crying and begging for her to stop.
  • A woman is covered in blood after a man on top of her is shot.
  • People are scalped and the bloody scalps can be seen form a distance.
  • A man tries to rape a young woman in the first episode. The scene is violent.
  • Some shootouts are shown, they often include light blood splatter and nothing more.
  • A man's leg is slit open with a large knife, this is done as procedure to get the venom out after the man is bitten by a rattlesnake.

Profanity

  • "F*ck" is used.
  • season one has 52 uses of the f-word 18 adult jokes 26 uses of sh-t 35 uses of h-ll 16 uses of b-tch 45 uses of d-mn 5 uses of a-s
  • The F word is used excessively in several scenes. Some episodes at least 30 times
  • The F word is used excessively... profanity in this series is definitely severe.
  • The worst part of the profanities is when a child uses these words. Some adult is telling that child to do it. Personal opinion deleted.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Infrequent scenes in bars with people drinking and smoking. A few scenes of very drunk characters.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Aftermath of scalping of a woman shown.

Violence & Gore

  • A man's leg is slowly dying from a snake bite. The principal characters decide they have to amputate the leg to save the man. The intense scene shows cutting, crunching and his severed leg.
  • A woman commits suicide by shooting herself in the head, blood splatter is shown and she falls to the ground.
  • A main character is shot at close range with an arrow, and it shows the arrow clear through her body, and she struggles and bleeds as she tries to fight back.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man is shown having his leg amputated in fairly graphic detail.
  • The Show is Extremely Intense and Depressing, Many of the Characters Die and often In Disturbing/Unexpected Ways.
