Now this is how you do a Penultimate episode. Wow!!!!!!
ldamena11 August 2021
It was perfect from start to finish. + I was on the edge of my seat & I admit I screamed a few times during the ep. Put me thru a rollercoaster of emotions. I felt like I was watching a Superman movie instead of a TV show. I was literally shaking the entire last 5 mins: what trauma. But, please protect all the characters at all costs. Because, I love them all except Edge. If I could give this episode a higher rating I would. I'm dreading the hiatus/season finale next week because there's nothing this good on TV and it's a long wait til S2. One more episode: Noooo. Superman an Lois is truly the best the Arrowverse has had to offer in a long time.

The penultimate episode of Superman and Lois is memorable and simply perfect, brilliant storytelling
Holt34411 August 2021
The penultimate episode was directed by Arrowverse veteran, Alexandra La Roche, her direction and vision were great. This was probably one of the best edited episodes of the entire show, the visual effects were also really strong. Everything on the technical side was brilliant. I only have one negative thing to say about this episode, it was brilliant in every way except for the run time as it felt too short. I wished for longer fight sequences and more time for the actors to truly shine, instead we got quick but meaningful dialogue to speed the plot forward as the penultimate episode has one goal and it's to build up for the finale.

The Eradicator which is the title for the penultimate episode, it follows up on the events of the previous episode where Morgan Edge sacrificed himself for the Eradicator to gain his body, the other story arcs are Jordan's romantic relationship with Sarah, and Jonathan bonding and helping John Henry Irons. The Eradicator is out there and it's an upcoming threat that needs to be taken care of but will Superman and Steel come out successful? The story of Superman and Lois first season is coming to a close and it's going in the right direction, this is very much a perfect Superman story and the writers are doing one incredible job, or simply they have since the first episode.

Summary: I found it to be 38 minutes of brilliant television, entertaining and dramatic from start to finish. I only wish it would have been ten minutes longer and more action packed, though the action looked great it just want special enough. But for a penultimate episode, the writers and director managed to pull off a memorable episode of Superman and Lois.

Warning: Spoilers
Ever since the series begin this Superman story has always been about family, but this episode was just heart breaking.

The wrath of the Eradicator has now fallen upon Smallville and Metropolis, and even with all his might, Clark Kent may not be able to save his family this time.

"I never miss"

This episode was fantastic. Fights were amazing; great screenwriting, storytelling, directing... John Henry Irons is a great character (many characters really are in this show); but this live version of Steel is phenomenal.

It is foretold.

Warning: Spoilers
Three weeks later. Lois & Clark goes to the Military to discuss about the DOD keeping Smallville captive, and General Lane is pretty pissed about it. Lately, Jonathan has been hanging out with Lex until Lex tells him to bother someone else, not playing war games. Yet, Edge was harnessing the Sun's energy for three weeks! Wow. Lately, a lot of people are protesting for no more DOD, stop lying, and Justice. Kyle and Lane have been planning to move out since this madness has been happening. The Authorities give out a public statement to the public. A lot of angry questions... I do appreciate Lois giving out the truth, instead of General Lane. Derek's mother claims to the statement that she has proof of his son's death, yikes.

The Eradicator had an assault in the Military Base letting Larrs free. Lex has tracked them in a Park in Metropolis. Superman & Lex arrives there to see him floating with Larrs beside him. Kyle and Jane tell Sarah and their young daughter that they are moving to Bristol County for what's best for their family. Eventually, Sarah argues with them. Lex detects four more subjects, which are gonna bring the city to its knees. Lex fights with Leslie Larr. Lois tells the public to immediately evacuate. Here, we have action between Superman and the three remaining local subjects. Sarah tells Jordan that they're moving. The party watches the news of the attack on Metropolis.

Lois is at the same spot where she died in Lex's world, but Leslie Larr is there instead of Superman. Lex throws his kinetic hammer at Larrs saving Lois' life and got another one. The Eradicator runs away after Superman & Lex tries to fight him. General Lane comes in and brings in the two sons and Sarah to his car. Leslie Larrs has been re-captured. The Eradicator comes to them, wrecking their car. Jonathan goes into the glove department and grabs the pistol loaded with kryptonite, cocks it, pulling the trigger.

The Eradicator easily flies away and takes Jordan away. Jonathan asks Sarah to go house. Superman arrives at Jordan's location, telling him that he took him. Superman flies up, and it was too late. He tells Lois that he's gone. Jordan's body is taken control of Tal-Rho's father. HOLY SH**!

Thoughts?

Wow, Smallville is going through a tough time being corrupted by politics. Action-packed, real character moments with great dialogue, amazing soundtrack like always, highly suspenseful. This is how you do a penultimate episode! The storyline is brilliantly well-done!

10/10.

A little subtlety
Riddler9112 August 2021
A little subtlety would have worked wonders but I guess the writers are not in the business of that. The parallels with the pandemic were very thinly-veiled and unnecessary. And Sarah has to be one of the most annoying characters in superhero tv show, she's just plain awful and a horrible person. Well, good thing, 'cause next season I sure as hell am not going to keep watching this.

ROLLERCOASTER!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Wow!! This show never disappointed me. When in Metropolis, while Lois is doing live, and then Leslie Larr just behind her back, I was like... NO NONONONONNO!!!!! Jordan and Jonathan were like, this is the moment. But then John Henry Irons Aka Lex Luthor just threw his Mjolnir to Leslie and I was like, YESSIR, and then Lex and Clark try to fight with Edge and he disappeared, and then Unexpectedly be showed up right in front of General Lane's Car and they had a crash. I was like WTF???? I DIDN'T EXPECT THAT! And then he took Jordan, Clark tries to find him but he can't and he assumed Jordan died, the sad moment between Clark and Lois, I cried even though I know that Jordan is still alive. And suddenly Edge did something to Jordan and the WTF moment, it's Edge's Father, literally, I just got drowned with tears, the fact that Lois and Clark thought Jordan died, and then Jordan became Edge's Father is crazy!! I give this episode 9.1/10 can't believe just one more episode and then Season 1, Superman and Lois are ended.

The Eradicator
Prismark1012 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The penultimate episode of the first season has some good action set pieces.

Morgan Edge is not finished and he becomes the Eradicator himself.

As Edge with his newly created Kryptonians wreak havoc in Metropolis.

Lois Lane is in danger as she reports live on television, with John Henry to the rescue.

There were quieter moments with Jordan and Jonathan being teenagers, going to a party and initially oblivious to the mayhem.

It does lead up to a good twist for the finale. This was a well paced episode but I did feel giving time to the kids bogged the pace down a little.

Super Lois.
jamericanbeauty12 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
In this one episode, you will see Lois Lane share DoD confidential intel with residents at townhall against her General Dad's directive. Lois, a civilian, discusses DoD strategy with her Dad and Superman when Morgan Edge is located and breaks out his protégé. Lois then tags along with Superman. On the scene while Edge and Co. Wreck havoc on Smallville, Lois hops on a police megaphone (with police on site) to issue orders to citizens. I could not believe what I was seeing. Lois then runs up to a rooftop and hijacks a reporter's mic and starts reporting to people at home what they're already seeing on their screen. At least Lois is now doing her actual job - reporting. Predictably, CW recreates the "how she dies" scenario we've seen in another Smallville universe. Unfortunately, Steel shows up to save her, thereby redeeming himself for not saving his world's Lois/Wife. I wish this show would focus less on Lois rivaling Superman's importance (She can't. That's impossible) and focus more on a better villain. Morgan Edge is one-dimensional and boring. This show desperately needs a compelling villain. Speaking of underwhelming, what's this show's fascination with Lana and her family? They take up way too much screen time. One star for the visual effects.

The Eradicator (of Imperfection)
THEARROWFLASH17 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
THE Penultimate episode of the 1st season of Superman & Lois, aka one of the Greatest Shows Of ALL Time. And how was it?

Well as with literally (and I mean LITERALLY) EVERY SINGLE EPISODE OF Superman & Lois SO FAR, THIS EPISODE WAS ABSOLUTELY AND UTTERLY PERFECT. Like maaaaan even though this show is about an alien that can shoot lasers and fly faster than a speeding bullet because he can absorb the Sun's energy into his body, it STILL feels more grounded and realistic than most shows airing today. Like, for spoilers (you have been warned), there's a scene in this episode, where Jonathan is trying to connect with Irons and then makes a comment of how "awesome" it was that his daughter helped him make his war suit. Now this is something that almost anyone in real life would say to Irons in a conversation. And, as an example of the GREAT & PERFECT Writing behind this show, Irons responds with how it's not "awesome" that his daughter had to live her last months of life in a bunker and help him make a war suit after watching her mother get killed on live television (oh and WOLE PARKS' FANTASTIC Performance as Iron Parks definitely helped also lol).

If this was some random scene in almost any other movie or show, this would NOT happen. Jonathan would say how "awesome" it was - Irons would say how proud of his daughter he was for being so smart to help him create such an advanced warsuit (or hell instead of that just give off a smirk), but even for such a seemingly small moment. The brilliant writers behind Superman & Lois, pulled back ZERO punches, and made that scene the absolute GREATEST & PERFECT it could POSSIBLY BE.

And I brought up that awesometacular example. Because literally EVERY SINGLE SCENE in this episode was like that. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I'm not going to go through all of the scenes or anything, but I will say this. The cliffhanger in this penultimate episode of Season 1 of Superman & Lois, is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I've heard this said before, and now I'll say it again. The fact that this show can make a story revolving around Superman, one of the most famous characters of all time, STILL SURPRISING AND ABSOLUTELY JAW-DROPPING, is nothing short of a miracle. Actually scratch that. Fuck miracles. It's nothing short of the INCREDIBLE and TREMENDOUS work put in by the writers, actors & the entire crew behind this incredible show.

In 8 hours & 50 minutes (give or take), Superman & Lois will air it's FIRST Season Finale. It will air the Season Finale of Superman & Lois Season 1. Just as with ARROW & The Flash (both of whose Season 1 Finales are some of the Highest Rated Episodes of Television of ALL Time on this site and beyond) (and hell even DC's Legends Of Tomorrow), I just KNOW than in 8 hours & 50 minutes (give or take). One of the GREATEST EPISODES OF TELEVISION, and One of the GREATEST SEASON FINALES OF ALL TIME, will begin airing. And you bet on everything to ever exist, that I will BE THERE when it does. And that's all I have to say. This episode was absolutely perfect. And Tomorrow's Finale is going to somehow top the perfection that was this episode.

So. See all of you wonderful people, on the other side of this INCREDIBLE show, tomorrow, on the other side, The FINALE Of Superman & Lois!

EXPLOSIVE AND CAPTIVATING.
mbm9000-788-13124120 July 2023
First of all, this show just gets better and better. Superman, Lois, their boys, and everyone else is lives get intertwined, and the story line just gets better and better. The writing and the production of this program is top notch. It's not like any other CW series at all. This is in a class all by itself. The acting is great and believable. The special effects are nothing short of excellent. I think a lot of love and care went into the making of this show and it really shows. When Lois Lane fears for the life of one of her kids, and starts to choke up and cry, It really tugs at your heart. I give this episode a solid 10 because it's that darn good!! As things start to unravel, hang on to your seat!

this episode was very exciting...
goldenawards18 August 2021
A lot of scenes really excited in this episode!!, the moments of superman's sons are cool and their involvement in the series is well crafted, the series' story and narrative are taking a right direction, dc always puts a central villain in each season. The problem are the cgi.
