My Favorite Foreign Film

This is not your typical Cinderella story. I saw this live-action movie at age 12, and even though it was not in English, it was easy to follow the storyline and understand what was happening. This was the first Cinderella movie I ever saw. This Cinderella has more spunk and independence than her Disney predecessor. While there was no fairy godmother, there were some magical happenings. I felt sorry for the stepsister in the end and thought the prince could have displayed a little concern, but on the whole it was a thoroughly entertaining tale! I loved it so much that once I had children, I searched for a copy of the video and bought it so that my kids could enjoy it too.
