Entertaining and filled with fluff and romance but with something missing

Its the first time I see a drama this long where there's no development of the relationship of the main leads whatsoever. I mean they start off already in love and longing each other like they have had a very deep past between them. This is the opposite of slow burn, crazy opposite.

It's understandable with the male lead, because he is supposed to have a backstory of having a crush one side love for years for AppleDog ( we already saw that on the first Go Go Squid) but why the female lead too?? She was supposed yo be way older than him and she wasn't aware of him as a man at all?

You know that feeling you get of eagerness and excitement when you watch a drama and you want them to find out what they feel?

They have ruined that for us here :( Its soo evident they love each other that it leaves you no room at all to be intrigued or curious about what will happen to them.

Acting wise Hu Yi Tian plays the male lead and he is average at best, I have watched a few of his dramas and apparently he has exactly 1 facial expression. I guess he is considered handsome in China and that's why he is casted (looks are almost the only thing you need in many countries in asia to be successful in the entertainment industry) because otherwise I don't think he actually acts naturally at all.

Li Yi Tong is a great actress, loved her in Bloody Romance and it was outstanding. I am not a fan of her character here though, I was expecting someone with a more feisty, but that's just personal preference.

And my 2 faves from this drama: marcus lee as 97 ( such great eloquent actor! Watch lovely us and you will understand), and of course Wang An you, playing Grunt, I mean this man will conquer cdramas: love how he transforms, he can be shy and timid or playful and cocky, just awesome!

Overall The drama is made with quality and i love the camaraderie and friendship between the teams and friends. Entertaining robot events and some funny moments.

Loads of fluff and sweetness overload too, for a lighthearted drama is good.

Overall 10 Story 10 Acting/Cast 10 Music 10 Rewatch Value 10

Li Yitong and Hu Yitian are adorably cute together! Though many may put them behind Li Xian and Yang Zi, but to be honest, Ai Qing (Li Yitong) and Wu Bai (Hu Yitian) in Go Go Squid 2: DT, Appledog's Time are actually the power couple who I prefer in good ways. First, Li Yitong and Hu Yitian are more good looking than Yang Zi and Li Xian anyway. In Go Go Squid 2, They acted greatly in portraying a mature, shy and reserved couple who were deeply in love (in contrast with Li Xian and Yang Zi who had aggresive and playful characters respectively). Together, they somehow could turn the coldness in nature into a warm, beautiful and sweet romance that makes me smile and happy. It's a feel-good drama that is worth to watch as it's a refreshing love story and moreover, both lead casts are naturally good in acting and lots of good kissing scenes :-)

Entertaining drama

This drama could easily have been one of the best Chinese dramas of 2021 but Hu Yitian only seems to know two facial expressions so his monotonous performance was really annoying to watch

However, this drama was still very good thanks to Li Yitong, Li Xian and Yang Zi whose performance was top-notch.
