Good, but too long and elaborate
bbewnylorac20 March 2022
This doco about Bob Hanssen, an FBI spy who gave secrets to the Russians, is good, but could have been much shorter. It has too many interviewees, sometimes relating minute, unnecessary details about Hanssen. The background music is meant to add intrigue, but instead it's just annoying. There are repetitive re-enactments, continual shots of the same photos of Hanssen and his family, and interviews with about 20 workmates, experts and journalists, when maybe five would have worked well. I guess it shows that a lot of people wanted to talk about him. He is a very intriguing if elusive character, and the doco tries to discuss what his motivations were.
