It’s not every day you see a biblical movie which mixes Mma, heavy metal, and Jesus Christ, but the trailer for The Carpenter offers just that. That’s… certainly unique.
The Carpenter stars Kameron Krebs as “an adopted Viking orphan who becomes a carpenter’s apprentice to Jesus. The orphan, Oren, fights as a side hustle. His experience training as a carpenter with Jesus as his mentor changes his lifestyle.” Krebs serves as an executive producer on the project and also co-wrote the script alongside his father, Kenny Krebs, and director Garrett Batty. Despite the biblical backdrop, The Carpenter will feature a contemporary soundtrack of heavy metal music during the fight sequences, including tracks from Godsmack, Drowning Pool and Motley Crue.

Back in August of 2021, Skyline franchise writer Liam O’Donnell announced that he had just finished writing the script for the fourth entry in the alien invasion Skyline series. At that time, he said he had “no idea how likely this is to get made,” but the project – which was once being called Skyline Radial but has ended up with the title Skyline: Warpath – has since made its way into production. Back in January, the movie secured a US distribution deal with XYZ Films, and now Variety reports that it’s set to receive UK and Irish distribution through Signature Entertainment.
Written and directed by O’Donnell, Skyline: Warpath is coming our way from Palisades Park Pictures. Set within the Skyline universe and two years after the events of Beyond Skyline, the film follows Sua as he leads The Resistance against the invading aliens. ‘"Til you bid me come, shall you watch the world become as naught."
It's been confirmed that a new trailer for Robert Eggers' highly-anticipated Nosferatu remake will be released this Monday, and the movie's official social media accounts have now shared a foreboding new teaser in anticipation.
The brief clip features a sweeping shot of a mysterious stone structure with a hexagram symbol on the outside, which might well be where Bill Skarsgård's titular undead nobleman, Count Orlok, takes his rest during the day.
Orlok has mostly been kept under wraps, but we caught a very quick glimpse of the vampire sinking his fangs into an unfortunate victim's neck in the first trailer, and another as he slowly turns around to face the camera.
Will our next look at the movie fully unveil the monster? Check back here on Monday to find out!

In the Virgin River season 5 finale, we learned how Mel met her birth father, and in Virgin River season 6, we're going to learn how Mel's mother met her father.
Jumping off of Mel's major paternity discovery last season, the upcoming new episodes will find the bride-to-be getting to know her birth father, Everett (John Allen Nelson), and part of that will be learning his history.
Earlier this year, Netflix announced that a Virgin River prequel series had been placed in development, and the series would center on Mel's mother, Sarah, and Everett.
On Sept. 23, Deadline announced the official castings for Sarah and Everett's prequel counterparts. Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr will make their debuts as Mel's parents in a 1970s flashback in Virgin River season 6.

Scream queen Jessica Rothe has joined the cast of a new sci-fi horror movie, Affection, one with a plot vaguely reminiscent of her breakout role in the time loop slasher series Happy Death Day.
Deadline reports that the actress is playing the role of Ellie, who becomes trapped inside a "cyclical nightmare" that causes her memories to frequently "reset," erasing her life with her husband and daughter. Even worse, her real memories are replaced with "vivid memories of a life she's never lived."
In some ways, it sounds like a cross between a lighter rom-com like 50 First Dates and Happy Death Day. It's not quite the same thing as a time manipulation movie where each day repeats itself, but one that could be a lot darker depending on what direction this story takes.
Rothe will star opposite Joseph Cross, the actor best known for his performances in Lincoln and Licorice Pizza.

Alex Proyas, of the 1994 classic The Crow (watch it Here), was never happy with the idea that Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders was going to be telling a new version of the story of The Crow with his recently released reboot – and Proyas never kept his feelings about the project to himself, taking every opportunity to mock and bash it on social media. The Crow reboot made its way out into the world last weekend and is proving to be both a critical failure and a box office bomb, which is just giving Proyas more opportunities to have fun at the movie’s expense on social media.
In the build-up to the reboot’s release, Proyas shared a screen shot of The Guardian’s review, which called the film “unfathomably awful.” Later, he commented, “Wow. The reviews are brutal.” And when the box office numbers came in,...

Becoming trapped in a nightmare is the worst. I’m reasonably adept at controlling my dreams, but now and again, the slumber is too strong to shake the dark visions from my mind’s eye. Jessica Rother and Joseph Cross are about to find out what that’s all about when they star in BT Meza’s directorial debut for the sci-fi thriller Affection. Julianna Layne co-stars.
Meza directs Affection from his script. According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, Affection tells the story of “Ellie (Rothe), who is stuck in a cyclical nightmare. Grappling with a condition that erratically resets her memory, she’s left unable to remember her husband (Cross) or daughter (Julianna Layne). Each reset leaves her disoriented and haunted with vivid memories of a life she’s never lived.”
Horror fans know Jessica Rothe as Tree Gelbman Christopher Landon’s Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2 U.

Bill Skarsgard is looking seriously ripped in his new movie The Crow, and we can tell you how he got that way.

“It’s basically steak tartare and raw eggs. He was in the gym a lot. He ate very healthily and put us all to shame when we were eating burgers and hot dogs and working late at night in the Czech summer,” he said.

Plot: A young man (Bill Skarsgard) returns from the dead to avenge his girlfriend’s murder.
Review: Rupert Sanders’s The Crow is one of the more controversial would-be big-budget blockbusters (they hope) in some time. The rights holders to the property have spent over a decade trying to relaunch James O’Barr’s classic antihero. While there was initially some enthusiasm from fans when It star Bill Skarsgard was cast in the lead, they didn’t care for the character’s look when it was revealed, and many dismissed the trailer as Crow-Wick and a stain on the memory of the original Brandon Lee classic.
But, here’s the thing – outside of the first movie by Alex Proyas, there’s never been another good Crow movie. In fact, there have been some genuinely abysmal ones, so it’s strange fans have all of a sudden gotten so precious about a...

The series starred James Spader as Raymond “Red” Reddington, a former fugitive turned FBI informant. The show’s popularity led to the birth of a spin-off series, which had an almost polarizing fate compared to the parent series.

While coming from a family of actors comes with expectations, Bill Skarsgård has already established his own path. The son of Stellan Skarsgård, Bill first crept into homes on Hemlock Grove from the mind of Eli Roth. Soon after, he became an icon for fans of Stephen King, developing popular characters in It and Castle Rock. In 2024, Bill is having a career year. With Nosferatu, The Crow, and Boy Kills World, Skarsgard is conquering new genres and prestige work. With the release of The Crow today, we’re highlighting seven of his best performances to date.

Bill Skarsgård’s The Crow reboot opened to a rough start in theaters. The critical opinions were mostly negative, with many sharing an issue with the poorly conceived plot of the film. Skarsgård is probably looking at another flop at the box office after his earlier film Boy Kills World failed to make it big with its critical or commercial reception.

That means it still focuses on a doomed relationship between characters named Eric and Shelly, played here by Bill Skarsgard (Boy Kills World) and singer FKA Twigs – and during an interview with Seasoned Bf, Twigs revealed that working on the film was therapeutic for her, allowing her to embrace her inner darkness again.

In an alternate universe, a young boy is raised by an off-the-grid shaman to become a lethal weapon trained to take down the family responsible for a totalitarian regime. When the boy (Bill Skarsgård) gets older, he takes it upon himself to go after the head of the family Hilda Van der Koy (Famke Janssen) — the woman responsible for killing his mother and sister when he was a child.
When you are a director who has no feature film credits to your name, the cinematic world is your oyster. Neither having to live up to a previously built reputation nor giving over to the commercial industry, anything is possible — and Moritz Mohr proves this is still true in Boy Kills World. The box office is still relying heavily on “Deadpool and Wolverine” to get us through the slower month of summer, but this weekend could offer an unlikely surprise. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
After two weeks at #1 and hitting $400 million domestic, “Deadpool and Wolverine” may finally have some competition, though it’s going to be tough to beat if it’s able to make $50 million or more in its third weekend, which is definitely possible.
Who better than to take on Ryan Reynolds‘ mega-blockbuster than Reynolds’ own wife, Blake Lively, starring in the romantic drama “It Ends With Us,” based on the best-selling novel by Colleen Hoover from 2016, which sold over a million copies worldwide by 2019 but only debuted as #1 in the New York Times bestsellers list in January 2022, thanks to a surge via TikTok.

Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard has certainly seen a lot through his time in the Star Trek franchise. Having traveled the vastness of space and experienced all that life has to offer, it is safe to say that fans have seen him in a variety of different situations. One of the most iconic, however, has to be The Perfect Mate chapter of his story.
Sir Patrick Stewart in Star Trek: Tng I Paramount+
Being the 21st episode of season 5 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, it featured Famke Janssen in the role of Kamala. What many may not know is that the actress was also offered another role after playing Stewart’s unwilling life partner. She was offered the role of Jadzia Dax in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
While many would jump on the opportunity to play a central character in such a high-profile franchise, Janssen had other plans.

In August, undead antihero Eric Draven will rise from his grave to wreak vengeance for the first time in years. In the new version of cult favorite "The Crow," Bill Skarsgård is set to take over the role that was originated by Brandon Lee, who died tragically during filming on the project in 1993. All eyes have been trained on the remake for a few reasons, including the fact that the project was trapped in development hell for years. Every time the "Crow" reboot stopped and started, a certain faction of superstitious film buffs re-asserted that it was "cursed."
Now that production has safely wrapped, the first trailer has dropped, and the remake's release date is around the corner, all eyes are still on the movie for another reason: Skarsgård's headline-grabbing Joker-ified transformation into the goth icon of the '90s. The aesthetics of "The Crow" is the stuff Hot Topic...

It was only after fans rewatched the entirety of "The Boys" in preparation for the season 4 premiere that many realized that the actor who played Ryan Butcher in the season 1 finale had been recast with the series' current actor, Cameron Crovetti. The introduction of the character was a glorified cameo, but when Crovetti took over in season 2, Ryan became what showrunner Eric Kripke would later call, "the key to season 4." With such an expanded role, the creative team wanted a more experienced child actor, and they found that with Crovetti. Fans became so familiar with the performance that they completely forgot the role wasn't originally his, which is understandable considering there was over a year of time separated from season 1 and season 2. Having two actors play one character isn't unheard of and recasting decisions happen all the time, but there's a third actor who has portrayed Ryan Butcher, and this...

John Krasinski’s “If” (Paramount) needs strong post-theatrical results to make it a success. Initial results from PVOD ($19.99 rental), which reached #1 right away at both iTunes and Fandango, suggest it is headed in the right direction.
In the short term, it might be able to sustain that pace; its main competition will be this week’s release of the underperforming “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.” More critical is whether it can sustain multiple weeks at higher levels. With a $110 million before-marketing cost, $180 million in worldwide gross needs supplementing.
Richard Linklater’s “Hit Man” is sustaining its run. Netflix’s $20 million worldwide acquisition, after an above-average 10 days as #1 on its top 10 movie viewing chart, is still at #2. “Trigger Warning,” a far less-acclaimed Netflix original, is currently #1. The action/thriller title, which stars Jessica Alba and is the American debut for Indonesian director Mouly Surya, was filmed nearly three years ago.

Lily-Rose Depp’s Ellen Hutter shrieks as an undead hand clutches her neck in the new Nosferatu trailer, setting the creepy tone for the Robert Eggers’ horror film, which arrives on Christmas Day. “Does evil come from within us or from beyond?” she asks.
The film from The Lighthouse and The Witch writer and director follows haunted young woman Ellen Hutter and a vampire’s strong infatuation with her. Throughout the nearly two-minute trailer, townspeople begin to sense an evil approaching the town, that evil being Bill Skarsgård’s Count Orlok also known as Nosferatu.

The quirks and quiddities of Marvel films are such that you either fall in love with them or feel mortified to even call yourself a fan, there’s no in-between. The same thing unfolded when Doctor Strange 2 premiered in 2022, polarizing the fandom in its wake. While some seemed to be pleased with the sequel, others were infuriated with the lack of depth in the plot and characters.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) | Marvel Studios/Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Meanwhile, there’s a third separate group comprising fans who are solely preoccupied with Sam Raimi’s exemplary craft; they are least bothered by whether the film fared well or not, they just want to see the acclaimed director shepherd more MCU films.

Some stories need lampooning. The lone hero or chosen one carves their way through an army of faceless disposable grunts, fights the final boss or touches the MacGuffin and send the whole corrupt totalitarian state, kingdom, empire or corporation crashing to the ground and frees the sheeples. That's the story Boy Kills World has in its ultraviolent sights.
Bill Skarsgård plays an unnamed boy. Deaf, mute, orphaned, he prepares to take revenge on the Van Der Koys and their brutal regime. The clichés are going to pile up like the bodies. After years of ruthless training in the ways of death by a mysterious and sexually creepy shaman (Yayan Ruhian), he is ready to be the autocrats' nemesis. It is the day of the culling, an event where Hilda Van Der Koy (Famke Janssen) picks out her enemies for public execution. The boy, accompanied by hallucinations of his murdered little.

Richard Linklater’s “Hit Man” is a certified hit for Netflix, and a rare one: It’s an original film that’s critically acclaimed as well as a popular success.

“Civil War” (A24) is #1 again at iTunes in its fourth week of availability (#2 at Fandango), a remarkably strong showing for a film with a strong but sub-$70 million domestic box office take.

For the first time ever, a film streaming on Netflix (free for subscribers) and available on VOD ($5.99 for 48 hours) is #1 on both charts.
Toho’s late-2023 sleeper success and eventual Oscar Visual Effects winner, “Godzilla Minus One” achieved that feat with a totally unexpected and previously unannounced release on Saturday.
The film, released in early December to an unexpected U.S./Canada gross of $56 million, normally would have hit PVOD for rental for $19.99 by late January, been reduced to $5.99 after a few weeks, then found a streaming home. But because of vaguely defined agreements with Legendary Entertainment, Toho’s partner in making Warner Bros.’ costlier Godzilla films, the March opening of “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” led to the early-February termination of theatrical dates for “Minus One.” That came despite the Toho film still doing business (and ahead of the Oscars). Then, Warner’s “Godzilla x Kong” could play without “Minus One” as competition.

There’s something special about bloodbath movies: they’re really easy to mess up, making carnage the main character instead of the actual protagonist, but they’re also hauntingly captivating when done right. Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill is often dubbed as the ultimate bloodbath action, but what if we replaced the Bride with the Boy and changed the modern world for a post-apocalyptic one? Would it still work?
