The story was inspired to Pascal Elbé by a premeditated incident which occurred in Marseille in 2006 where a group of teens lit a bus passenger (Mama Galledou) on fire and burned her alive, expressing no remorse even after a year in jail.
Actor Pascal Elbé's directorial debut. He had however written several produced screenplays previously.
Filming lasted six weeks.
Pascal Elbé chose Roschdy Zem for one of the main roles, just as Zem had chosen him for one of the main roles of his directorial debut Mauvaise foi (2006).
Cinematographer 'Jean-Francois Hensgens' was recommended to Pascal Elbé by Roschdy Zem, as they had recently worked together on Go Fast (2008).
