Brought back memories of "Stand By Me".

If you've never seen the 1986 movie Stand By Me (adapted from the Stephen King book of the same name) then you'll definitely want to check it out after the wedding in the tent segment of this episode. Thanks for bringing back those memories. I never thought 9-1-1: Lone Star would cause me to laugh so hard! Update: I actually laughed even harder when the call came through for the emergency referred to in the review entitled "one shining moment". Hysterical!

one shining moment

There's a lot of soap opera subplots swirling in this episode, but it's all worthwhile. At about 40 minutes, the writers deliver the cleverest, most outrageous 911 call of either of these Monday night series, or any other prime-time cop show in what's left of my memory. Congrats to the wielders of those pens.

Unbelievable

Warning: Spoilers
I normally quite enjoy this show, and love the original for its rather crazy storylines but the final part of this episode asked viewers to suspend all belief. Rob Lowe is 57, the actress playing his wife is 55, and his character has had chemo, but they expect us to believe she is pregnant?!? That really is stretching it....

Felgarcarb!

This episode was nothin' but drama. There's less than 6 mins of emergency incidents. The rest is all personal drama. The reason I started watching this show was because of Natacha Karam. My discovery of her was in a show named The Brave. Which was cancelled too soon. The best part of that show... NO PERSONAL DRAMA. They got the call, they went out on mission and that was it. It was perfect. I'm not into watching Guiding Light As The World Turns. Which seems to be where both 911 episodes were tonight. . . . BLAH

Oh well - Soap opera dama is taking over

We started watching both 911's because of the emergencies and the sometimes clever, often heroic, efforts to perform the rescues. You know they've got to have some relationship type of drama, but the first season of each was more about the rescues. This latest episode had two short and light rescues that seemed like they were in there because of the show's title. Everything else was soap opera.
