It's personal. Very good finale.

A young woman is killed at The Docks, Michael's brother is named as her next of kin, and he is removed from the case.

They really did save the best for last. I think this was a cracking end to the series, a clever mystery, some cracking characters, and an explosive ending. Walker shines yet again, what a huge talent she is.

Annika was speaking to the camera a lot less, and that made a difference, it flowed so much better.

The ending was cracking, the scenes in the car were attention grabbing, and the final reveal came as a massive surprise. I hope we get a continuation next year, there are more stories to tell, particularly if they're of the same standard as this one.

I did chuckle at Michael being called Rapunzel, it had a few nice touches of humour throughout.

Excellent, 8/10.

Explosive ending in more ways than one

Warning: Spoilers
Well, well, well. The father of Annika's daughter Morgan is well, Michael. I never, ever saw that coming that's for sure. To date it's unclear if there will be a season 2, but hopefully there will be please because I want to see the Michael-Morgan relationship develop.

Didnt see that one coming

Warning: Spoilers
I'm shocked that Michael hasnt figured out that he is Morgan's father. Very interesting twist. I enjoyed the series for the most part. Like most other reviewers I HATED her talking to the camera. Hopefully the series is renewed. The relationship with the therapist is another interesting storyline.

Excellent finale to a quirky series
kimshelley94 October 2022
Unlike other reviewers, I love the talking to camera, and in particular the occasional sly glances at us, which so often speaks volumes to her character. For me it is one of the things which makes this series different from other police shows. Nicola Walker brings the same emotion and class to Annika as she has to every other role she has taken, supported by a strong group of characters, not least of which her daughter. The final moment of the series was a real shocker - again made all the stronger by the direct look to the viewer. I really hope there will be a series 2 to carry this revelation forwards!

Great finale

Great finale to a great season. I was so glad to read that there will be a season two. I love everything about this show, including Annika talking to the camera. The reviewers who dislike it may be wrong in thinking they are in the majority. People who dislike things are generally more outspoken than those who do like them. As another reviewer stated, it's one of the things that makes this show different. If you want to watch a show that's the same as all the others, well, there are plenty of them out there. Watch them instead of trying to change this one.

As far as the story in this episode, I really didn't see the twist at the end coming, as far as the killer was concerned. I also didn't see the final reveal coming. Now I want to watch the whole season again to see if there were any hints. Season 2 can't come soon enough.

Interesting story, but presentation is distracting

Just as with every other episode, I disliked the talking to the camera and quoting/comparisons from 12th night.

Acting is fine and story is good. That's the only good thing about this.

Episode 6
Prismark1018 June 2023
DS Michael McAndrews brother is regarded as a suspect when his ex girlfriend's body in found in the Glasgow docks.

This means Michael McAndrews is off the case. Soon he and Annika are at loggerheads. He is convinced that his brother is innocent despite a shaky alibi.

The final episode was more interested in the revelations regarding the paternity of Annika's daughter.

I really felt the episode was treading water until a late swerve.

The potential killer could be a woman who was scamming people on dating websites. One of the victim;s was a mechanic with an explosive temper.

Annika finds herself trapped and with seemingly no way out.

Although too obviously quirky with the talking to the camera. I felt the first series was rather middling and forgettable.
